My bad. I haven't watched the stream from SDCC. I was out all day yesterday and upon seeing what was revealed, I didn't feel like going back to watch it.

Wrong livestream. It was the livestream video where they revealed the Strange Tales wave. Steve made a comment about the demon Wolverine being Dan's favorite and Dan texted him saying that wasn't it. His favorite Wolverine has not been revealed yet.

Went to Ollie's and was a bit surprised to see this set. Was hoping I'd stumble upon the other set of X-men, but no dice. Still, a nice pick-up for $24.99.

Interesting to compare the overall sentiment in here to facebook which was way more pleasant towards the legends panel. I'm so proud of you all.

RDJ as Iron Man was a puzzling casting at first, that ended up being amazing. He could surprise us again. Still, NGL, was hoping for Henry Cavill since there's been rumors for a bit he's involved or at very least considered for an MCU project.

ETA: That said the fact they're shifting from Kang to Doom as the next big MCU makes perfect sense.

Yeah, count me as weirded out by the choice to cast Downey as Doom as well. I really hope they're not doing something incredibly stupid like changing him into an evil Tony Stark variant. But Downey does have tremendous range (hell, just watch Tropic Thunder and Oppenheimer back to back), so as long as he is playing a 100% legit Victor von Doom and not evil Tony and keeps his mask on the whole time, it could be a potentially interesting choice.

They still should have cast Cillian Murphy, however.

I think it doesn't make sense if he's not going to be a tony variant. Otherwise, why even cast him in the role?

I've said before that a RDJ/Tony Stark type could've maybe worked as a DCCU Lex Luthor. So maybe a RDJ Doom could work well enough. But, regardless, still a huge twist,the most controversial comicbook casting since Batfleck.

This is legitimately the coolest Marvel Legends reveal I've seen from SDCC and it wasn't even from the panel. Ugh.

The only question I have is, is this Wolverine for Secret Wars or for a third wave of "X-Men '97" figures in early 2025?

Also, as a side note, I'm fine with Robert Downey Jr. being cast as Doctor Doom. If we can get different Spider-Men and Invisible Women, we can believe that there is a Doctor Doom with the same voice and face as the M.C.U.'s Tony Stark, right? Saying R.D.J. can't be Doom is like saying Chris Evans couldn't be Steve Rogers after playing Johnny Storm. It CAN work, especially if Doom tries to use his appearance and voice as a way to trick the 616 M.C.U. into thinking Tony's come back to life or by time travel or whatever. I'm trusting Marvel on this, for now. I just want the costume to be good and especially for Doom to have a handsome unscarred face and barely wear his helmet/mask. That's the whole point of Doom - YOU DON'T SEE HIS FACE. EVER.

I wonder how he's getting released, could be from the Secret Wars rumor, could be a new 97 wave, could even be a Konami set to go along with the new Sentinels, or a Pryde of the X-Men set with a new Kitty or an updated Bryne Cyke. BIGGEST question tho, is THIS Dan's favorite Wolverine?

@Veronica Mars - I was wondering the same thing. I hope this means that we'll see a new '70s Cyclops and an updated classic Colossus. Both of them need updating really badly. I also wouldn't be against seeing a new Gold Team/Jim Lee Colossus and an Acolyte suit Colossus made in the future. I have a feeling we'll see an Astonishing X-Men Kitty Pryde sooner than later. After all, we've got Cyclops, White Queen and now Wolverine, so Kitty, Colossus and Beast have to be in the works, right? Please, Hasbro?

Unless it's some bullshit exclusive I'll get this because it's an update on the brown suit, but why do they keep making the brown lighter on each iteration?
