That version of Captain America is a great figure. But the NWH Spider-Men figures that were released at the end of 2023 are the best movie figures of Spider-Man. One of them would have been a better choice than the NWH Upgrade Suit. |
ARen't those the figures that have been peg warming at every Target and Walmart ever for the last 6 months???

Also, I wanted to weigh in on the conversation around Dan and the figures showing up at retail. First, Dan has always been incredibly nice in the interviews that I've watched. I do remember him talking about collector's waiting for clearance and how that couldn't continue. But it was just a matter of fact statement, not him shaming collectors for doing it. It was also part of a larger conversation about how too many figures were being produced and how retailers weren't able to move that much product anymore. Second, the comic figures aren't relegated to fan channel releases while the MCU figures are retail only. The evergreen figures (MCU Iron Man and Spider-Man) were intended to be available at Walmart and Target throughout the year. And since there will be two more figures next year, both stores must have liked the results. Some of the stuff announced earlier in the year like the Zabu BAF wave and the Wolverine anniversary 2 packs were Fan Channel exclusives. But there have been other waves that have made it to retail like X-Men 97 (animated but close enough to be comic figures) and the retro Spider-Man and Iron Man waves. The problem is that the 85th anniversary assortment was supposed to be stocked throughout the summer at all retailers, but Walmart never stocked it. Walmart is one of the most ubiquitous retailers in the country, but they seem to avoid stocking figures that aren't in the traditional 6-7 figure BAF/retro card assortment. On top of that, they have some serious problems when it comes to managing their inventory. Some stores in my area are still stocked with the Bone Breaker BAF wave as well as the last Infinity Saga wave because they won't put anything on clearance. Not every Walmart in my area stocked the retro Spider-Man and Iron Man waves, even though they could have. Also consider that Target actually puts their store exclusives on the pegs, meaning we get constant updates/posts from people who can or cannot find them in the store. Walmart's exclusives seem to be online only with the rare in-store sighting. |
At long last, X-Tinction Agenda has come out:

Banshee AoA Gambit Maybes include: Miles Morales (depends on how the figure looks and his price) The 97 2 packs/deluxe Storm depend on what versions they are 97 Emma if she is an upgrade to the HFC version 97 Cable if he is a good upgrade to the one I already have Roberto only if he is in his New Mutants costume (don't remember if he wore it in the show) The Ultimate Fan Channel Spidey if he is based on the Romita Sr version Animated Chameleon I can't believe they are selling Black Bolt for a third time and needing to get him to get another Inhuman. <sigh> Still not fucking Leland, Feral, Phoenix, or more Marauders. |

The Marrow leak is likely, the teaser from Lucca con could clearly be one of her shoulder spikes |

Hopefully the The 97 deluxe Storm will be her Giant Size X-Men costume that is my favorite Storm costume

Polaris needs pinless stuff too. |

And yay! More Dark Avengers already! I’m impressed with how quick they’re filling out this crew. We all knew more X-Men 97 stuff was inevitable, but glad it finally looks like we’re getting Jubilee and Sunspot. Marrow is another addition to the Marvel vs Capcom display, so good there. And MCU Electro is great to finally have; hopefully Lizard isn’t too far behind. |

My two cents (which is two cents more than my opinions are actually worth):
It's odd Beast isn't mentioned for the "X-Men '97" figures, since he's the only main X-Man who isn't listed and Dwight did recently tease a Beast was coming soon. Hopefully he'll get an "X-Men '97" figure sooner than later. If the leaks are true, I'll get Jubilee, Emma Frost, and the two-packs for Jean Grey & Cyclops and Wolverine & Storm. It's odd Bastion and Mr. Sinister didn't make the cut. I'd even settle for Captain America with a shield that's intact and doesn't have holes in it. I feel like the rumored Chameleon might end up being the comic book Chameleon instead of animated, since we saw that tease of a masked face accessory like what Chameleon would hold in the comics. That said, I would love to see a Retro animated Mysterio. He's one of my biggest wants from "Spider-Man: The Animated Series", in addition to Felicia Hardy, Chameleon, Shocker and normal Alistair Smythe in his hoverchair. I'm curious to see how the new Deluxe "Ultimate" figures look for Spider-Man and Hulk. The "spider-sense" alternate head for Spider-Man sounds awesome, but I really hope he'll have wall crawling posed hands, as that's usually not included. I'm also worried about the Hulk in terms of the price and the rumored 8.5 inch height. He'd be way too tall to be in scale with my Marvel Legends figures, which was also mentioned here: https://marvelousnews.com/252-36143?...edium=facebook Regardless of price, I'm 99% sure I'll end up finding a way to afford both. If 'No Way Home' Electro turns out to be a Deluxe figure, I hope we'll see a removable jacket and alternate jacket sleeve arms and not just his "final battle" look with the arc reactor. Also, isn't the Punisher from the Iron Man wave supposed to be classic Punisher? I thought it was reported classic Punisher was coming next year. Maybe I'm remembering that wrong. I also find it hilarious, and disappointing, we're getting a blue-and-yellow suit X-Factor figure for Cyclops and yet the rest of the team have yet to be made. All I need now to go along with these leaks are a new green-and-orange suit Doc Ock (or Armani suit Doc Ock) on an updated body mold with bendy wire tentacles, classic Thor on a new body mold, 90s Jim Lee/Gold Team suit Colossus, an improved classic Green Goblin, Generation X Jubilee, '90s "opera gloves" suit Invisible Woman (not the two-piece version), red-and-white classic suit Falcon, and a second chance at classic Lizard. |

I thought the Shocker we got was Animated Shocker? I'd been done for a Felicia if she actually looked like Felicia. https://image.civitai.com/xG1nkqKTMz...452649118.jpeg Quote:

@Dr Kain - I meant Mysterio, sorry for the mix-up. But yes, comic book AND animated versions of Chameleon are figures I'd love to buy. As for Shocker, the Retro figure we got was comic book based. The Shocker's brown outfit is black on the show, his gloves, boots and strips down the arm sleeves are red, the belt is different and Shocker has normal eyes on the show instead of eye lenses.
As for Spider-Man, I also hope it's a John Romita Sr. version with the extra accessories. I wouldn't mind a new Mark Bagley version, but I really, REALLY would rather buy a Romita Sr. art-based Spidey instead. |
Quick question, would anyone be up for a Marvel Legends pre-order Fin Fang Foom or Ultimo instead of a Haslab?
|
This is interesting. It's possible this is why we've seen a drop off of certain brands and why they're doing less products for the brands that are left

The Dark Avengers Spider-Man apparently being Ai Apaec instead of Scorpion now makes me wonder if Moonstone might come with an alternate Superia head. Daken/Dark Wolverine coming with an alternate head/claws to make Gorgon would also be sweet.
