I got to pay Taxes and fees on UPS, and it is HELLA expensive. To ship 5 figures was 55 bucks =/

I am shocked Mattycollector doesn't give a USPS International Air service. But thats probably due to Digital River being a terrible shipping service. Looking back at recent Mattycollector orders, they all have Sweden International shipping stickers on it, along with USPS ones. Leaves Ontario, California, goes to Sweden, then back to Canada.

I ended up emailing asking why I would have Sweden stickers and Matty just told me they couldn't tell me. Some top secret end of the world shit it sounds like.

LOL,matty toys get sent to sweden to get proper barbie approval.and to think in this day and age they couldnt just throw these things onto long haul shipping trains.

As for the lurkers, I post over on TFW and the lurkers are all over that site. Makes me glad that I'm caught up on the TF's I want.

See, before the Prof. X wave started to hit only a few Badheads were on ebay
and they all $60+. A bunch more have hit and we've seen the prices drop in half almost over night. If people would just NOT BUY at $30-$40 the price would go down and down. Problem is people still jumping at $30 because they've been convinced it's worth more from online stores and ebay.

so have hasbro downgraded on the articulation with the upcoming IM3 line???
ive seen those new photo shots and they are kinda misleading.

Quasimodo 01-19-2013 12:13 PM

I hope they still have a regular line with regular articulation. Id even take avengers level artic over this im3 stuff weve seen

Jackieboy 01-19-2013 02:50 PM

looks like 2013 is the year MU dies however the flipside to it all is that DC have their new 3.75" line debuting this year.so if hasbro want to ditch good articulation in favor of figures with major bin compatibility then so be it,it was good while it lasted.roll on DC 3.75"

Deadops 01-19-2013 03:20 PM

I really hope the IM3 line doesn't be the end of MU. It is my fave 3 3/4 line.

RIP-Louthug. :(

Iceman 01-19-2013 03:27 PM

Technically the movie line ARE NOT MU. This may be the end in movie figures worth buying though.

im hoping MU keeps on trucking for at least another 2 years, but looking at the spidey line and the fact they only released 1 figure with MU style articulation did not bode wellespecially with all the talk of the line dying out a while back, these upcoming movie lines dont seem to be focused at us guys.

dunno IM2 with its comic concept figures kinda made me think they where an outlet of the expanded MU universe.

In a way they are/have been but they are not MU branded and don't tend to use MU molds. Often MU has used movie molds though. I am guessing they get more money when a movie product is being made for R&D and in the past they've used that as a chance to develop things that can be used in MU as well.

IM2 is what really got me into collecting Marvel 3.75" figures but that's because of the wide variety of well-made comic characters.

But look at ASM and now IM3, do these look like MU in the way they are made? Never had t-crotches or 5 points of articulation.

my point exactly regarding ASM & IM3 and perhaps the same for any upcoming marvel movie line hasbro have contracted.it appears that they are moving away from the style you and i love.so where does that leave MU itself?will Hasbro continue to make them.

Iceman 01-19-2013 06:09 PM

So far the word is that yes, they are going to keep MU going for the foreseeable future, whatever that means. We'll see what new figures look like beyond the Vonner stuff we've known about forever.

There are three reasons I can think of why they haven't shown anything "new" forever,

1) They just have so much unreleased stuff that we've already known about that they wanted to wait until the bulk of it has come out, giving them time to develop more in the post-Vonner era. (This makes sense but the more they release it becomes less likely).

2) They have no new stuff planned and MU will be dead or on hiatus once we see Rhino/Mysterio and the like. (The fact that they've put out things like the West Coast Avengers pack without any previews or press confuses this).

3) The new stuff they are making is such a step backward in articulation and quality they don't want to piss off the collect base before they buy the "good" stuff still to come out. (The way they are really trying to dress up those IM3 photos could be telling).

Jackieboy 01-19-2013 06:23 PM

hopefully you are right regarding MU as far as im concerned there is plenty of life left in the line and im just hoping that some of the IM3 figures are NOT T-crotched.i just dont want to see the 3.75 universe devolve back to the 80's style articulation in an effort to cut costs or whatever B/S they try feed us.

Iceman 01-19-2013 06:57 PM

What's annoying is that when they complain about cost cutting I just don't get it. I know the big stores still buy these things for like $5-$6 and sell them for $10. We were getting figures for $7-$8 and they had stands, character cards, and fury files. They cut out the stands supposedly because of cost but then the price of figures has gone up to $10 ($11 here). With all the cost cutting going around like firing staff and cutting articulation why are prices still going up? Usually you cut costs so you don't have to hike prices and can stay competitive but with exclusive licenses no one else is making these Marvel figures. It's not like a TV or DvD player where people will go somewhere else, either they buy or they don't.

Also, why do ASM figures with less articulation cost the same as MU? Is it really that much more expensive to give good articulation if they aren't charging more for it? Even super poseable Spidey was the same price as the rest of the ASM line. I think percentages must be so small but Hasbro feels they matter.

I'm fed up of the end-of-the-line talk. And the cost moaning, especially from American buyers. Get in the shoes of the Brits, Irish, Europeans and Canadians; then moan about price. Your "scalper" ebay price tends to be cheaper than our retail price and its a joke. I'm not trying to be rude, a dick or a jack-ass but I don't apologise for coming across that way. You guys have it so much easier compared to us and the moaning annoys me; be thankful for what you have compared to the left-overs we get. Other countries are an after-thought for Hasbro

Iceman 01-19-2013 11:05 PM

I moved from the US to Canada and instantly was paying $3 more per figure. Plus whole waves get skipped to have I have go to the ebay or the LCBS which was $12.99 and is now $14.99 (more for "rare" figures).

Every time I see people post pictures of pegs full of figures I've never seen at retail and complain about how there is nothing new I just shake my head. Same thing with all those discount store Classic Sentinels. I see people passing because they are $25 instead of $15-$20 like people are finding in other areas. Man, I got my Dark Galactus on clearance and it was $45 at TRU!

I've seen Sentinels and Galacti (is that the plural?) here but they tend to be upwards of £45 pound generally. That's like 70 bucks with the current exchange rate

I get where your coming from, I was stationed in Germany when MU came out, it was a pain in the butt to get anything! I think I paid like 20 bucks for a silver surfer back when they were clogging the shelves stateside. as far as the line ending, I'm hoping that were just feeling a pinch from the relaunch of legends combined with the two to three marvel movie lines coming out every year. I mesn it wasnt that long ago that MU was the only hasbro marvel product out there now marvel has half the toy isle! I think even if the line got phased out there would still be exclusives and online offerings for years.

I got to agree with you regarding the cost of MU in europe, they average at 12.99 euro over here, and i find it quite odd that the country i live in tends to get more MU than Canada and in some cases more than certain US states.but will i complain about that???hell no.at least it does not leave me at the mercy of most "scalpers".but such is the nature of our hobby, dude.some folk are genuine and WILL help you out.most are just in it to profiteer.i feel bad for people who have defected to the Legends line, just look at the prices of some of those guys.

just like the old man logan exclusive???if it did come to that with hasbro i think id rather hit up the customisers like vortious for parts and just make my own MU,why pay an arm and a leg for a re-issued figure say like exclusive doctor doom(steve rodgers head on a doom body with an IG thrown in.)

Iceman 02-17-2013 08:54 PM

Every year they have a contest for ice sculptures up here. This is currently in the park near parliament.
