Edit... nvm... I googled my guess and was right... guess this is power rangers? I never knew it had lightsabers and “older guys”. I vaguely remember it just being a live action Voltron knock off with teenagers on trampolines doing flips with sparks.

Haha! Its actually from a thing called superpower beat down. That gif in particular is from the green ranger vs ryu. You can watch it on you tube. I like it but the white ranger vs scorpion is my favorite. That guy in the gif is the original actor who played tommy oliver, jason david frank. Appearantly hes a bad ass mma fighter now.

I’m quite conflicted on how I should feel about these superior iterations of the Godaikins I collected as a child.

Godsigma wasn’t one I owned, but had it looked like this new one, I would have nabbed it in a heartbeat…or I should say I would have cajoled my parents into buying it with our running ritual; I get good grades and you agree to buy me an $80 (they were pricey even then) di-cast robot.

I owned Gardian, God Marz, Combattra, Daltanias, KO 3rd party GoLion (Voltron) named King Lion (or some such), Dynaman, and Tetsujin 28 - I also owned a weird 3rd party Dairugger 15 (vehicle Voltron). My best friend had the real GoLion (oh, the envy) Godsigma, Voltes V (still so very jealous), Sun Vulcan, and Goggle V.

These new ones make me happy and hurt my feelings...as I said, conflicted.

What can I say, when you’ve been gifted with a couple of brain cells, you learn early on to work economies. I also took judo during that period, played football from junior high into high school, wrestled in high school as well, and played rugby in college. And also, because my tastes were expensive, I got a worker’s permit at 15 and was hired at the very toystore that sold the Godaikins. Tips for your brood…
