As long as the next finalist isn't Mysterio I'll be happy...the old Toybiz suits just fine for Mysterio..hope it's Executioner or Lady Sif.

Asgardian wave coming up = Sif = redundant! :p

I really don't know how tomorrow's poll will go with Executioner, Mysterio, Lady Sif, and Cosmo. Kind of a tough choice.

Cosmo is a wasted vote, he could easily get packed with a new rocket or something. I'd be happy for Sif, just anyone but SpiderMan

And I want it to be Mysterio since I don't own one and the Toybiz one is ridiculous in price.

Anyway, new thoughts on the reveals now that I have seen better pictures or new things announced:

Cap Am - Looks amazing. Don't care about the alternate head, but I'm for any accessories.
Taskmaster - He seems to be missing his cape, but still look quite good.
Mockingbird - For a character that I just learned about less than a week ago, I'm in love with it.
Spider-Gwen - The alternate head has sold me on it.
Morbius - Can not wait even though it is not my favorite design of his.
Venom - Love the tongue head and I'm not usually a fan of french kissing toys.
Speed Demon - Looks pretty good, but still not sold on him.
Beetle Girl - Meh, weakest of the wave.
Ben Reily - Looks really good, but the best part is it sounds like he includes Spider-Carnage hands and head, which is awesome.
Absorbing Man - Love it. Will probably get the whole wave.
Namor - A must buy. I want to do some Aquaman/Namor pictures.
Onslaught Red Skull - MOst worthless reveal of the entire weekend. They should have given us someone important that is going to be in the actual movie. Hell, Yellow Jacket should have been the BAF since he got gyped for Ultron. The only reason I will own him is because so far I am getting 4 of the 6 figures in the wave.

Wish we would have seen some more classic Spider-Man villains, so hopefully the next wave. I really want to have the original Sinister Six.

VonPooten 07-12-2015 12:03 AM

Hah hah hah Red Onslaught, what a joke. 'AXIS' was a terrible storyline, and nothing short of an Uncanny Avengers Rogue or Classic Sunfire can redeem the inclusion of such a crummy character.

The only must-buy figures announced for me are Mockingbird, classic Cap and modern Namor (finally!), so, I guess it'll make up for the wallet-attack this year has been so far!

IMO they should have staved off either the Rhino or Hulkbuster series at Toy Fair and announced these as a surprise late-Summer release here, to stem the disappointment that they didn't really announce much. Ah well another year gone!

Phantomcrow 07-12-2015 01:23 AM

I am happy to be getting a (Close to) proper Onslaught. They did confirm that this will not come with a classic head, so I can already see casters and modders making a head people can buy to fit on it. I will have this as Onslaught and never have the Red Skull head on it.

Not really...I've seen Mysterio on Ebay as low as 25 dollars shipped...which is not all that much more expensive than what a Legends figure goes for now a days at retail. And I didn't even have to extensively search for that.

Unless you are completely against the gimmick (I have the figure and I think it's rather neat) it's not a bad deal for a figure with a superior sculpt and a pretty cool gimmick that doesn't effect the articulation really in any way. The little smoke sled he comes with is pretty cool too.

I'd rather see a new Shocker than Mysterio. The old Toy Biz Shocker had no articulation in his arms (which fell off the figure's body rather easily) and the missile blasters and vibrating gimmick the figure had really gimped the articulation in what was an awesome sculpt.

Jmacq1 07-12-2015 06:09 AM

Hasbro said no more Age of Ultron figures but did (from what I read) indicate that we might see Scarlet Witch and Vision in the Civil War wave(s) (Since I'm betting there'll be more than one).

They didn't show MCU design figures, but undoubtedly there'll be some mixed into the Civil War waves.

That's what I'm thinking too. Those movies are so far off, they can show the figures in February and build up excitement then, and let the comic figures ride for the rest of this year.

Define gimmick.

Push a button on his back and his dome lights up to reveal his head underneath. The head will also spin with each button push to show 3 different heads: monster, alien and human.

Not feeling it. How bad does the button look on his back? Is it distracting? Does he have an ab crunch still?

I don't actually have the figure so i don't know bad the button looks. But there is no ab crunch. I was really hoping he'd get picked at SDCC even though he deserves better than a fans choice poll.

skywarrped 07-12-2015 01:25 PM

Hey gang, Ryan Penagos tweeted earlier here that Rescue will be the next Marvel Unlimited Plus Exclusive figure.

I have the figure and it's not too bad. No ab crunch but does have torso swivel. Really the biggest flaw is the fishbowl helmet is completely off. The button to me is not too distracting but I'd rather it not be there, even if it meant giving up the various heads. Do I like having the figure, yes. Do I want a more accurate Mysterio, yes. But it's not something that I'd rather have over completely new characters.

I hope that sums it up for all interested parties.

En Sabah Nerd 07-12-2015 02:30 PM

I would be concerned regarding a new Mysterio with whether or not they give him his proper suit pattern. The Universe figure didn't do it but that one gets a pass because of its size, it's still one of the coolest looking MU toys in my opinion.

That's kind of my feeling. I'd much rather have a new character like Lady Sif or Executioner. Though I still wouldn't be mad if I got any of the other figures because Hasbro has done a really awesome job this year. Can't really complain!

Kirathis 07-12-2015 05:18 PM

I really wish people doing the voting would pick characters we have little to no chance of getting without the fan poll. Logic practially dictates there is a better than not chance they are going to pack a Symbiote Spidey into one of the next couple Spider-Man waves. Not to mention it's about the easiest possible custom you can do. Even Mysterio is pretty likely if they keep rounding out the main Spidey villains in each wave.

Yes I am being selfish because I would personally love to have Cosmo or Darkhawk which are unlikely to ever be made otherwise unless they end up in a movie. Even if it is not one of those two, it would be really nice to see the winner as a character fans love but that is unlikely to be made otherwise.

redfox 07-12-2015 10:43 PM

The whispers, from around a few other boards, say that the winner of the fourth poll was Mysterio. I haven't found any proof to validate that claim, as of yet. Take with a grain of salt.

In case people are waiting, SDCC exclusives go on sale on Hasbro's site on July 28. They have it on their site. It's nice to know for once!

donmeca2020 07-13-2015 05:59 AM

3.75 Legends. Hopefully they will just scale it up later on.

I saw that too. First time that has happened. Must have realized it was easier to check quantities BEFORE you put them on sale. Sad part is that is the day after Mattycollector stuff goes up. That week is going to hurt a lot.

I won't even be near a computer that day. I got a close-to-retail Vishanti set off eBay but I was hoping to get the Ant-Man set off Hasbro's site because I just want Giant Man and Goliath. I don't want to over send on half a set.
Anyone think they could help me out? ;)
