I had the Wave 3 97 Logan in plain clothes in my amazon cart. The day he was up for pre-order $24.99 today he went up to $27.99. What’s amazon pulling here?

Ideally, it would be either the red or green cloak outfit we get from the ToyBiz Facebook pack, or (for me anyways) the early 90's armored look he wore - which being similar to Silver Samurai would not be the hardest thing for Hasbro to make

I’m also good with a suited Mandarin. I find it interesting that despite the hate for the functionality of the Toy Biz 2pack Mandarin and its variant, that look is still quite popular and my choice for most wanted. However, the costume presents all kinds of problems in execution. There aren’t many soft goods solutions outside of CJESIM, but I doubt Hasbro is looking for a partnered vendor.

Thank you Sacha Baron Cohen for being a catalyst for this dude being made. I'm also excited to see my Dragon Man has just charged.

I haven't paid attention to the FF reviews since we've been busy moving, but this has become the first movie we have gone to see in theaters in Florida and I loved it. I thought it was very well done. You don't need to see any movie before it to enjoy it. You don't have to go see any movie after it to enjoy it. It's well written, paced extremely well, all of the characters get moments to shine, and they finally did Galactus justice!!! It seems like super hero movies are back!! At least, for this moment in time. Not only is this the best Fantastic Four adaptation to date, but it's also the best MCU film since NWH and a top 10 MCU movie at that. I really hope they don't fuck it up.

Hello, Arkers…FF She-Hulk back up for preorder on Pulse…

Veronica Mars 07-30-2025 07:32 PM

Maybe it's a hot take, but who are the MtG collabs for? Magic players don't collect action figures, they can't afford their hobby and soap and they think they're going to buy toys, the actual MtG action figure line tanked. There just doesn't seem like a lot of overlap.

I'm a Magic player and I've pretty much got to agree with this, in my experience there's only a small overlap of MtG and figure collectors. That intersection of casual players and toy enthusiasts exists but Hasbro has been fine milking the extremes. I guess they're feeling bold after the LotR and FF sets were hits and they're banking on the Marvel sets continuing the trend.

ThorOdinson123 07-30-2025 08:18 PM

Target’s lost their mind. They are trying to sell X-Men97 Wolverine for $38.99 on their website

https://www.target.com/p/x-men-39-97...e/-/A-87846682

Also looks like Amazon is price gouging the wave 3 97 figures they went up from $24.99 to $27.99

It feels little bit like a corporate stab in the dark. They obviously think crosspollinating between interest groups will net sales. And/or provide some explanation for the heightened cost along with a bit of psychological cover for the collectors rationalizing a purchase. Feels out of touch for the reasons you mentioned but it also makes sense that they would try to work in another partnership between Marvel and deepen the relationship.

Big picture, they are trying to manufacture FOMO (a new line of “scalper” bait) for MtG fans, while simultaneously trapping specific Marvel character fans (they got me on Man Wolf and Battle Damage Spidey) into compulsive buys at higher rates. The question becomes whether they will polarize both fanbases with this manipulation of a set of distinct consumers. Just as MtG enthusiasts couldn’t care any less about MJ Iron Spider, I just want the damn fig I’ve been waiting for years for them to make.

Let’s hope Hasbro has enough sense not trap B-Side favorite-characters behind a $40 paywall with whatever they have planned with this license mash-up.

You can thank Trump's tariffs for that. I expect the 97 2 packs will be $60 each.

So you know the joys of foil cards like these curling up like Pringles

I really wonder how many Magic enthusiasts are going to buy these for the cards and turn around and sell the figures on the secondary, and if it would be worth it to wait it out and see

Pulse still has the single carded wave 3 figures for $24.99.

After tax and shipping probably more, I believe their standard shipping is $8.99, then taxes

While waiting is the more prudent thing to do, I’ll likely pull the trigger for the two I mentioned anyway. I’ve no reason to believe that MtG fans are less prone to gouging than other secondhand sources. I may as well deal with the devil I know in Hasbro, provided they aren’t retailed at Target or some such….

Dragon Man cometh

Francine Frye Electro is down to $10 on Amazon. It's a limited time deal with 85% claimed at this price.

I guess they're striking while the iron is hot with the film but it's incredibly frustrating to see more Fantastic Four product where almost all of it is the four themselves...to the point that it knocks out any reasonable chances of new characters. This is now...what...hasbro's 5th version of the F4, not including the movie figures? Or am I off one, maybe its the 5th total.

I'm just snarky here since I really want the Wizard to get made and Attuma would be wonderful to get as well.

I have 3 sets of Hasbro's F4 now (movie included). Don't really need anymore myself, since I already got to the point of passing on some looks. I want additional characters.

TheBlueMarvel 08-01-2025 04:07 PM

Stupid MtG crossovers, I'm already tired of them, if this list is to be believed. Seems like I've gotten an answer to my wish that Hasbro not "trap B-side characters" behind this new marketing stunt: Malice will be $40.

Also, isn't the Destiny/Rogue 2pk a brotherhood release? I guess Rogue will be for those that didn’t want Destiny, and likely feature an extra head with softer expression so that the fig can be used in Paul Smith era Xmen line-ups.
