AOA Mikhail Rasputin is on my wish-list along with Abyss and Holocaust/Nemesis, throw in AOA Sinister to complete that team.

EvilMonkeyPope 10-10-2025 03:57 PM

I don't really feel like I need the 97 Apocalypse since I just got the retro card version.

Truthfully it’s a bit odd that we’ve gotten so many AOA figures since 2020, yet not a single Horseman. For a while I thought they were saving them for some packs but I’m really baffled at this point.

AOA Storm and Quicksilver are pretty odd omissions too. Less so, Mystique, Havok Basheee and Bishop played pretty big roles and aa as a Deadpool variant it’s surprising we’ve not gotten Dead Man Wade.

Not a big role but Dazzler would be a great addition for me. Her look there is so different from the 616 looks. I doubt they’d include her cigarettes lol

Pipedrean though: Damask. She had a huge (secondary headliner?) role in X-Calibur and I really gotta say her look was pretty awesome, even though totally 90s and would look out of place today.

Hulkwummy 10-10-2025 08:21 PM

I'd welcome a box set of the AOA Horsemen, heck I'd welcome them in a couple of 2-packs.

I feel like Hasbro should have at least done figures of all of the main players, who are featured on this cover:

Armored Outback Psylocke has long been a big want for me and I really do hope that that's the one that is rumored.

It gonna be the ninja bathing suit

5) Goblin Queen
6) Typhoid Mary
7) Misty Knight
8) Morgan Le Fay
9) Namora
10) Diamondback

Be nice if someone posted the entire trailer instead of just still shots from it.

The X-Men 97 Season 2 trailer was debuted at NYCC. It's not officially online, but someone recorded it and posted it online. I'm not sure if Marvel will allow it to stay up, but I took some screen grabs. I don't know if we'll see X-Men '97 versions of any of these, but it does semi-confirm some of the rumored figures from Wave 4.

I'll gray out the summary of what I spotted for spoilers, but some of what was shown was:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XhEobrtI2U&t=67s
  • The beginning of the Season looks to be focused on fighting Apocalypse in different eras.
  • Cyclops and Jean in the future, wearing rough versions of their 80's X-Factor uniforms.
  • Storm in a blue and yellow suit. I can't place it, but it feels familiar.
  • Wolverine around some Brood corpses.
  • Sunspot in a comic based costume, and Jubilee with long hair.
  • Cyclops and Jean in their New X-Men era costumes.
  • Some quick shots of Colossus, Danger, Psylocke and Archangel, 90's X-Factor, and some kids. Kid Omega and Penance were the only two I recognized.
  • The Phoenix Force reflected in someone's eyes.
  • Wolverine and Morph working along side Lady Deathstrike and Sabretooth. The person recording had lowered their phone by this point, but I think they may have been in a Weapon X facility.
  • Wolverine gets his adamantium back, as well as his brown costume.

In case the video is taken down, here are the screen grabs that I took.

Seeing the New X-Men costumes is cool and weird at the same time.

I think I'm done with '97 figs. A rehash by any other name...smells just as shitty. The line is another conduit to sell slightly adjacent looks because why give people what they want when they'll buy a near miss amalgam.

If it gets me updated versions of Claremont characters, or those I need, that works for me. I've got Cyclops and Storm preordered. I would buy Sunspot if I had a guarantee the rest of the classic New Mutants were going to be released. I hope we get an updated Kitty with pinless arms and legs. Leland would also be most welcome to complete the Hellfire Club.

It depends...for me but I definitely understand where you're coming from. If it's a brand new character or look to the Marvel Legends, sure I'll consider it depending on the character or look. X-Men 97 Exodus would be an instant buy for instance. Another Cyclops, Wolverine or Storm that are very similar to what we've got, no thank you very much.

I so far have bought Bishop, X-Ecutioner, Sunspot and Goblin Queen. Bishop really only because I felt I needed some kind of different look for him even though it was very similar to what we had. The other three are completely different from what we had already, two weren't even available in the line at all. Thought about Emma but it's too close to the Hellfire set for me to really make a difference for me.

But I'm past the point of needing upgrades or figures similar to what we've got, unless I have to get them as part of a pack, anyways.

Yeah, my rationale was similar to both of yours. But after opening Cable and Sunspot, I found myself regretting the purchases. I felt a sense of resentment, at myself, for rationalizing the financing of my own frustration. It was Cable that did it. After opening it, I was left feeling stupid for buying one. It isn't an offensive figure, but it doesn't fit anything in particular outside of '97, which I don't watch.

I purchased all of the first two waves except the X-cutioner. All of which I considered close enough to looks I want, despite being repeated figs in my collection. However, having Cable, and pre-ordering Apocalypse, has me thinking to jump out of '97 before I'm knee-deep in another Legends line that has me buying redrafts of characters and costumes I already have with little difference beyond style and miniscule improvements.

Hulkwummy 10-12-2025 06:03 PM

I got most of the key members of the X-Men 97 roster, just waiting for Cable, Sunspot, and Morph to be delivered.

Something looks off about Cable to me and I can't place my finger on what. I'm just glad I have no interest in a 90s vresion of Cable. The only Cable I would buy would be his New Mutants/X-Tinction Agenda iteration, and even that is questionable since I felt New Mutants really took a turn for the worse when he came into the series.

That 12 inch Apocalypse looks fantastic but given the price point and the fact I already have.like 6 or 7 Apocalypse figures...I had to pass. It's just too unnecessary for me.

Dr Kain 10-13-2025 11:02 AM

I just want a comic colored version of Apocalypse using the animated one they did a few years ago. Though, I would gladly take one that is pinless. Hell, I wouldn't mind an original X-Factor version that has the thinner body.
