I went to Ross again today and still nothing for Marvel, but they did have a ton of NECA stuff.

Cyclopswc 10-17-2025 06:31 AM

This is what I found from my local Ross yesterday:

Yup. NOTHING!

diablogunner 10-17-2025 11:11 AM

That't the same thing I find at every one of my local Ross stores, and there are 3 here in Charleston area.

Ninja Turtles or just movies/horror?

Yes.

No, I'm not being a smartass, they had a bunch of the TMNT Horror guys. :D

However, the majority of it was horror.

AFU 10-19-2025 07:18 AM

Went to Walmart…They had all recent Gameverse sets!

Dr Kain 10-19-2025 06:17 PM

Stopped at a Ross today in Buffalo, they had even less than the Rosses in Melbourne, aka, nothing.

Boogieman4hire 10-19-2025 06:35 PM

I got the X-Men 97' Cyclops Jean Grey set and I don't think I've ever been as thoroughly satisfied with a Cyclops.

Nice find! Really hope to find that set. Going to be traveling soon so I'm hoping to try a couple of stores while on the road.

Hasbro deliberately painted Storm's bracelets wrong in the last two-pack to trick people into buying her again in a new two-pack years later with the correct colored bracelets.

Pretty sure that Storm's bands were based off of her color palette from the old X-men arcade cabinet. The Legends guys have been pretty transparent about wanting to recreate the line-ups from these more nostalgic games.

EvilMonkeyPope 10-21-2025 05:26 AM

But they packed that Storm with Thunderbird to fill out the Giant-Size X-Men team. Why didn't they make her cape grayish & the rest of her black areas navy to make it clear video game homage?

Came home from Buffalo to find some goodies waiting for me:

I haven't opened the 2 packs up yet but Vulture is pretty cool. I just wish I could have gotten him for a normal price, but whatever.

Dr Kain 10-21-2025 08:26 PM

I opened my 2 packs up and while I'll go over my initial thoughts on each figure individually, something seems weird about the plastic. It just feels different to me and I'm not sure if it is a good thing or bad thing.

Cyclops - Damn awesome, but I do wish his yellow was darker. It's just a very very very light yellow. The blue is perfect and outside of his upper left leg, his joints are nice and tight. I love the alternate head and the blast effects. He looks fantastic fighting Magneto with the effect on my shelf. The belt is a bit loose. On the other... hand... I really like the new hand for pressing down onto his visor as it looks more natural compared to the way the old one was positioned. Now we need a new classic Havok on this body.

Jean Grey - I like her a lot more than I thought I would. Obviously she won't be getting displayed on my battle shelves since I've got Phoenix on them, but she will be cool to include in photos as a downtime Jean figure. Her legs have a lot more range in them than I expected them to have due to her skirt, so that was nice. So glad I never got the Krakoa version.

Storm - Love the double jointed arms, the action based head is even better than the one the previous Storm came with, but the lack of open hands sucks. While I will end up just using the ones from the other version the skin tones are totally different, so it will probably look off. I do think it would have been neat if they had given the relaxed head normal eyes instead of weather summoning ones. I would say maybe they could do that in another set, but they'll just change the skin tone again since they have never once made a Storm figure with the exact same shade of brown. I just don't get why this is a hard task to accomplish. The relaxed head sadly still bobbles around like it did on the previous release. I love the new lightning effects, I'm must not sure how I'm supposed to attach them to anything. Oh, and they still couldn't paint in the lines of her capes properly. The yellows are still messy as hell.

Wolverine - Not bad and if I didn't have the Mafex one, this would probably have gone on my Outback shelf. I really like the headsculpt with the screaming mouth. The brown is too light though as even in the comics he had a tad darker of a brown. This one is more like a deep red brown. Of the four figures I would say he is easily the weakest. Not because I have the Mafex, rather, he's boring. He's the only one of the four without any effect accessories and comes with the same old stuff, an unmasked head, and fists without claws. Why not give him open hands? They could have packed those Gameverse slash effects in with him. Hell, he doesn't even come with a mask for his neck.

Dan posted on his social media that Dwight will be at London MCM (Oct. 24-26) and Lucca Comics & Games (Oct. 29 - Nov. 2). He said that these will be light on reveals, with possibly one comic and one gamerverse reveal. He also mentioned that there would be one more fan stream before the end of the year.

The Spider-Man wave is supposed to go up for preorder next week, so it will probably be the 4 figures that go with 2099 and Cardiac. I really hope we see either an animated Felicia, Spot, or Rocket Racer.

Veronica Mars 10-22-2025 09:55 PM

I really need them to do Carrion so I can complete Team Carnage

diablogunner 10-23-2025 05:02 AM

I think we need an updated SWARM. That old Toybiz figure was pretty awesome for the time, imagine how it could look and move now? Oh hell yeah.

Man...Hasbro needs to STOP USING those crappy, tiny, almost perfectly spherical shoulders on their Wolverine figures. They also need a 100% new Torso design that doesn't use an unsightly rectangular cutout for the butterfly joint. Blending articulation points with musculature should be a goal. It's why I prefer the "rolling shoulders" of the Mafex figure and how they addressed the new Gamerverse Wolvie. NOW! Give us a Brown Suit Logan like the G-Verse and get rid of the "Bar Claws" that look like they do not have a sharp edge. Ok. Rant over.

I'll take the claws on the 97 figures over what they were doing before with the claws that popped out and moved around and never stayed in place ever.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in just the 97 Wolverine, I'm selling it off for $38 shipped. Basically half the price but with $8 for shipping.

With a bit of Super Glue they stayed in place just fine. I also like the look much better.
