I'm in for similar reasons. I wanted the JRJR Nimrod from the start, as did many other fans, I imagine. Of course they deliver that only as a double dip. Nothing new to be seen here.

Not entirely true. We get a Classic JRJR head. That did it for me.

Oh, of course, that was my observation from the start and the reason I'm buying it (along with the matching coloring AFU mentioned). What's not new, is the provision of a character slightly adjacent (be it costume/era related, or simply flawed) only to follow up with what many fans 'really' wanted. I can't wait for a classic Beta Ray Thor, or an Annihilation Quasar.

They can lower the price on Maximum Hulk all they want to. I'm not spending my money on that figure due to the ugly alternate heads. The accessories aren't bad and the long-awaited clapping hands are nice, but the head sculpts instantly became a pass for me. Before I saw the figure, the Maximum Hulk figure was the Marvel Legends figure I was looking forward to the most. When I saw the head sculpts, it became the most disappointing reveal of the year to me. I'm still waiting for a classic savage Hulk that has better face sculpts and better hair than what the Maximum series gave us.

Besides, Hasbro will give us a new savage Hulk in a year or two with different head sculpts and maybe I'll be able to buy it then. Maybe we can get a new Deluxe release of Hulk on the Retro "Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars" box art (and I hope they do the same for Doctor Octopus too with bendable wire tentacles -- hint, hint, Hasbro ;) ). Then again, I'm still expecting Hasbro to give us a "Gamerverse" wave two-pack of the Hulk and Spider-Man based on Capcom's "Marvel Super Heroes" game, but with my luck, Hulk will probably be paired up with someone I don't need like Iron Man or Blackheart.

I'd say the chest rubber cracking is a more important issue than a headsculpt.

I'd almost forgotten about the rubber chest. Yes, that's definitely worse. That said, I still think the Maximum series Hulk head sculpts are terrible. The head sculpt with the gritted teeth has more of a mouth than it does a face, the yelling head sculpt with the hair blown back looks ridiculous, and the smiling face looks more like it should be sold with a Doc Green Hulk figure than a savage one.

I was on the fence about this Hulk, at first, because seeing all of the re-used parts I saw from pictures on this site and videos from elsewhere….

But, he might best the best Marvel LegendsHulk we got to date!

Some people complain about the color, but I love the “Gamma” green!

Some people, including I, complained about the heads sculpts when I saw them through pictures, but in hand, it was a different to the eye, and I’m the last guy to complain about getting three different head sculpts from Hasbro!

Last, the “Clap” gimmick does it thing, and the effect pieces do add to it!

Yes, I do think that we should have gotten a whole new sculpt, especially for this price point!

But, getting arguably the best Marvel Legends Hulk, with accessories, for the 40 is not bad!

If you don’t have a Hulk in your collection, I would definitely pick him up!

Personally, I think the Maximum line is terrible. Juggernaut would have made more sense being called a Maximum figure than anything else.

I agree with your there, Arker! Too me, it would make more sense to make the heroes/villains that have size into the Maximum line! If they did this, for example, with figures like Abomination, Meca-Hulk, Apocalypse, and Blastaar, they could justify the price point with the new molds/ or some what new, and justify the re-done figures at the same time!

New Nimrod will be up for preorder tomorrow…Pink never looks so bad ass, can’t wait!

This will be the second Maximum Hulk I purchased…I didn’t even know about the chest piece cracking, I will have to do some experimenting and see if there is anything I can put to protect the rubber in some way! I’m taking this one to work on my office desk, so mostly he will be stationary! Hopefully the chest piece ripping is not from excessive play! Lol! If it happens, I guess I will use green highlighter to fill in the gaps of or something, lol!

I think you can rest easy. I’ve had one of my Maximum Hulks posed throwing a tight left hook since I received it in May, and there is no discernable wear. I’m not discounting whatever reports there are out there, however, the problem doesn’t seem to be ubiquitous among collectors.

I saw the new Mezco Hulk, and I think Hasbro needs to make a new Hulk figure like it in terms color and sculpting and accessories. Make it slightly bigger with real butterfly shoulders and no rubber chest, better head sculpts, double jointed elbows pinless arms and legs, toe joints, and the same shade of green skin and purple pants as either the SDCC Vintage Hulk or the 20th anniversary Hulk.

The Janet and Hank Pym 2 pack is getting a reissue too
