Need advice regarding Mezco and Justice League
 

Hey folks. Asking for opinions here. Big DC fan. My collection focuses mainly on (in order)
1)Superman
2)DC Trinity
3)Justice League
I have all the Mattel multiverse JL figures as my main Movie JL display. After obtaining the Mezco comic Supes, I was wowed by its quality and started looking into a more high end JL setup. Just bought the Mezco BVS Supes at ebay auction yesterday for reasonable price.
Options:
1)Preorder Mezco Wonder Woman and Mezco Tactical suit Batman (keep the focus on the Trinity).
2)Preorder Mezco Wonder Woman, Bats, Aquaman...hope they release a Flash and Cyborg to complete a Mezco JL movie set. Was there ever discussion about them doing Cyborg?
3)Mix & match Mezco with Mafex.
Don't have any Mafex. They make me nervous with their QC issues...and the high articulation and visible waste/ab joints make the figures look a little funny to me.
The Mezco Wonder Woman has single jointed elbows which seems unusual for a Mezco.
The BVS Supes I bought isn't exactly the right Justice League movie colors, but it doesn't seem like anyone is making one that is accurate other than Hot Toys. Would the Mezco BVS Supes look funny as a JL member?

I’m not aware of any ongoing QC issues on the Mafex figures. I have a handful from the past couple years and they’re pretty impressive imho. Was waffling on that Cy myself. My only thing is the scale might not be consistent. But I’d go for the whole team via Mezco and fill in from Mafex. JL Flash hasn’t been officially announced by Mez yet though.

I do wish they’d do an update to the JL Supes outfit but not exactly holding my breath on that. The BvS one is serviceable. I quite like him on his own.

I thought there was a Mezco JL Flash on display this past SDCC?

Saw a lot of videos showing joint problems with the Mafex BvS Supes, which seem to have been fixed with the JL version. Just makes me a bit hesitant, especially given the price point.

Agree with you on the Mezco BVS Superman...all videos and pics I saw convinced me he was impressive. Now that I took the plunge on him, will feel stupid if they do decide to do a JL version.

Flash has been shown since last year (NYCC maybe?) but who knows how long before they actually put it on their site. They’ve been showing Diabolik for a long time (about 2 years) and Netflix Daredevil since last year’s Toy Fair I believe.

Older Mafex generally have the QC issues. Not sure how far back in time that goes.

Around $250

I think $250-$300 is pretty average for it right now but I'm sure you could get more under the right circumstances too

Thanks...kinda what I figured. Was thinking of getting one. Ebay asking prices are currently averaging higher than that (low 300s). Broken spear tips on half of 'em. Not to mention the obvious fakes.

Having sold one recently, I can say that the $300 mark is when Armored Bats will start taking interest from most buyers and sell.

First, I don't think you'll have much luck mixing Mezco and Mafex due to the size of the figures. However, Mafex does seem to be pretty comparable to S.H. Figuarts. If you want to mix and match between brands, I'd keep it between Mafex and Figuarts.

Second, you need to decide whether you want the JL members to be wearing their costumes from the JL movie or if you're ok with them wearing costumes from any DCEU movie. If it's the first option, then you're going to have a problem with Mezco. Superman's head sculpt is clearly based on his BvS appearance while Wonder Woman's weapons are the ones used in her solo movie. And as long as it takes Mezco to make figures, they may be making a Cyborg figure based on his next movie appearance rather than his JL Bayformer look.

Very solid points you bring up. Kinda what I was feeling to be honest. Which is why now I'm thinking of either:
- Getting a Mezco BVS Batman, preferably the armored one, to go with the recently ordered Supes.
- Or preordering all the Mafex JL figs to replace the Mattel, which would get sold.
- Just enjoy my current setup with the addition of Supes.

The smart choice, financially speaking, would be the last one, or getting the Mezco JL Bats, since his price will probably skyrocket.

This hobby is very expensive.

If he's a Mezco exclusive, I may end up skipping this one.

All indications are he's still a standard release. I'm not sure why they're rolling out this early preorder page that's locked for this figure. This is what they did for their con exclusives last year I believe? Maybe they should've implemented it this year again to the SDCC stuff. Just my thoughts

The only one that's an exclusive that we're all aware of is the vigilante Daredevil (aka. the all black season 1 suit he wore though season 1 until the last episode)

I think they're doing the timer again is damage control on the fact on how they don't give heads up on when their figures will be up for pre-order (aka. Special Ops Punisher).

Also it wasn't just a thing they did for just exclusives but regular releases too since I remember they did that timer on other figures before you were allowed to pre-order them. So I'm hoping they do this as a heads up also hoping they limit people on ordering a butt load since aka. Mr.scalper goes ape shit and tries abusing the pre-orders on regular and exclusive figures. Since that was the issue is they had a limit to 4 pre house on regular releases and 6 pre house on exclusives which made no sense for someone buying 6 of the same figure. So I'm hoping Mezco betters that to combat scalpers
