I'd much rather have a repaint of an actual MOTU character than some made up bs.
|
I voted for Illumina. Half of the options are repainted or variants of already released figures (Why would we want another Marlena? A repainted Khan?) and one is a really bad 80s rocker that does not fit in at all. Geldor and Illumina were the only good options, but we have enough testosterone on Eternia, and since neither had appeared in either cartoon, I decided to go with the one with the vagina.

I voted Geldor

Count down to He-Day! Said 91-92% earlier today. Hopefully the subs got there.
|
think we will find out tonight or tomorrow some time?
|
Who knows. My money says they were already to the minimum & just kept pushing for more. Makes no sense to say "Ok, we're there. No need to push for more subs.". Knowmzaaaaayin?

130% eh? Makes me believe I was right when I said they were already at the min and just pushing for more. I wonder what this big surprise he mentions will be..? Geldor... Better than Songster thankfully! lol |

Got my first MOTUC toy in today: Battleground Teela. The good news? The toy itself is great, very nice sculpt. The head's a bit loose, but not that severe. Other than that, she's amazing; no major problems.
The bad news? The gun barrel on her blaster is bent. Not to mention, the toy itself has some weird smell, like it was in an old, damp warehouse for too long. Hopefully some sunshine and air will help get rid of the odor. As someone who grew up in the 90s, I never had the pleasure of enjoying the Masters of the Universe franchise. Sure, there was the "New Adventures of He-Man" line, but even back then I wasn't interested. The 2002 MOTU cartoon was what introduced me to the franchise, and I enjoyed every episode of this show, especially the characters because they had their own unique personality and gimmick. It's a shame it only lasted 39 episodes, because I would have loved for the show to continue. Though to be fair, Cartoon Network, being the meddling execs they are, screwed the show over. Then a couple of weeks ago, I decided to look at some old He-Man toy commercials on YouTube. I have to say, I can see why you guys love these toys so much. Almost makes me wish I was born a decade earlier. Almost. But for what it's worth, I'm definitely considering building up my own MOTUC collection. Hell, I already have a crazy fan-continuity concocted. :D |
Eric, if you bought that Teela from Matty and you feel there's something wrong with it, they'll swap it out for you without question.

Maybe the person who sold it just has a stank ass home and it seeped thru the vent holes in the side of the package? lol Anyway, welcome to the crack addiction that is MOTUC!

And yes, I think MOTUC may be my new crack. But I was a 90s kid, so I may have more immunity to the line. :p |
I think the MOTUC do have a smell to them,.. almost like the smell of old Toy Biz Marvel Legends figures. I just opened my Spikor yesterday (fresh from Matty) and damn does that bitch reek. I think it's that soft plastic they use for his chest piece and his spikey melon. Still a great figure though.
I don't usually post random eBay listings, but thought this was cool.. SDCC 2010 MATTEL MOTU MO-LARR SKELETOR SIGNED FOUR HORSEMEN ROBOT COMIC CON 2012 | eBay It's cool because it's only $31 shipped and it's cool because it's also signed by the 4H. |

So my Vykron arrived last week and, yeah, he's pretty disappointing. I only wanted him for the buck and the viking gear. I used the spare Fisto parts and voila! I made an incredibly gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) looking character. Seriously, this guy looks like a bear's dream come true. Still better looking than that stupid ass chess piece helmet Vykron normally comes with.

Looks like a gay lumberjack. We got those around here, that custom is spot on!

Brokeback Eternia? Fisto, you SOB. I wish I knew how to quit you...
 |
Hahahaha reminds me that my Man-At-Arms figure misses his bearded, giant handed broski.
