have you seen the custom x-factor beasts people have done using the avengers movie hulk? there amazing. It was a crappy Hulk, but it makes for an awesome beast!

ProfessorHov 04-13-2014 09:33 AM

Congrats Ukmu. It was a very close descison. After reading all entrees. Once again thank you Raf for the contest. I am sure with the upcoming movie we will see more coming up. I am sure Hasbro gets a million emails saying we need more Vision. Thanks to all who took part. Happy Sunday all.

memphis01 04-13-2014 11:21 AM

Congratulation UKMU, you guys totally deserve it!!!

Folks, All of you 14 participants had great answers as to why you wanted VISION. You made it hard for us (ProfessorHov and I) to choose a winner. Thank you all for participating. Now is a good time for those that are TOYARK visitors to become members as you never know when a contest like this will happen again.

...And then, there was one...

And I quote...

"My 7 year old son sat on Santa's and asked for a Super Helicarrier and a Vision. Just those two things and maybe a few others that I can not recall. I was able to buy him a Super Helicarrier from a Hasbro executive here in England that had a display model for less than £50 that the money he donated to a childrens hospital here in the UK.

I am an American living abroad and am NOT allowed to work here in the UK. I was a famous glassblower once and when we save the funds to move to America, i will again. I am a starving artist here and get by with the occasional drawing sell. Our main income is from my partner. She was once a teacher. Then on 2009 was diagnosed with Multiple Scolrosis. She now spends her days in bed and in pain. I do what i can, but feel a lesser man because I can not provide for my family. We cannot even get married in the UK because she must £18,000 a year to marry a non citizen. We dont come close to that. I am stuck in a country where I am not welcome and with a partner who cant hardly walk. Our son, Blaze is the most AMAZING child and is nuts about Marvel Universe and knows more about than halfthe guys here. It broke my heart not getting him a Vision for Christmas... but as he said, " I guess even Santa cant afford him, huh Dad?" I was able to get one in February and he EXPLODED with joy. We took pics and posted here. I told him I would "put it in the bank" but had to resale it at a loss to carry on.

I think it is cool what your doing andin my small would like to help. I really love toyark and try to be a strong contributing member and not just a whiner. I am always positive and love life.

We started WAY late in the game. Christmas 2012 after seeing the Avengers Assemble on DVD. We saw the FIRST showing of the new Captain America WINTER SOLDIER this Wednesday when it released at our local cinema. Next year when we move back to the States, I hope to do something like this as well. Maybe with some army builders though!!! That is really all I could offer.
Selling my son's Vision was a VERY sad day for me. I have never sold ANY of the collection before and nor would I. It was for a very honourable reason though. If he were to win your contest, Vision would NEVER EVER be sold and when and if the day comes.... he would be given away to a worthy collector again.

He has been asking about him recently, can we go to the bank vault and look at my Vision.... it breaks my heart when I have to say no.
I had to come up with 1,300 pounds in 9 days to begin my wife's barometric oxygen treatment for her multiple sclerosis. She had been on a waiting list for almost three years. A spot became available and I had less than a week and a half to come.up with the initial down payment. It is now running.at around 300 a month, which is a struggle. We manage though. She lives in constant pain and this treatment helps to alleviate a small bit of that.

She has three more years of the treatment ahead. That is why I won't be able to afford him in the foreseeable future. Until then, I will have to continue to tell my son his prized possession is "in the bank vault".

I admire what your doing. I thought I would share my story. I wasn't even going to enter.... but you asked me. It is hard for me.to accept.help... but it is for Blaze and not me. We have never sold.any other figures and.nor.shall we. Again if Blaze is fortunate enough to win... we too shall pass him on for free someday.

On a side note... I have just finished a Super Skrull drawing and will send you those pics as well. I will be starting on The Vision drawing for your runner up prize today and.should wrap it up Sunday or Monday. I just want to help people here so it continues to be a great place. I always try to stay positive and friendly here. Too many grumpy nerds

That is my story.... an immigrant in a strange land with a son who LOVES his MARVEL UNIVERSE figures and a wife with a crippling disease that had to sell a single figure of his sons collection to pay for her treatment.

Thanks for listening, good luck choosing..... cheers mate."

End quote...

Wow... I don't know about you fellow ARKERS but if you don't agree that this person deserves to win this contest, then I don't know who does.

Without any doubt... your winner is:

"UKMU"

PM me your name & address so that I can ship it to your son tomorrow Monday.

ukmu 04-13-2014 12:56 PM

WOW.... i just got home and saw this!!!! I am speechless!!!
Words fail to show my appreciation for this grateful gift. You have made my wife cry even!!! Thank yo a MILLION times my friend...

I have ALMOST finished the drawing of The Vision as i promised. Penciled it yesterday, inked today, tomorrow i will colour it. I will tell you....Joe Quesada could not have better!

I will post pics of it in its many stages when complete..... I would be hounored if Raf choose the recipient. It is 12"x18" and done with an archival ink that will not fade or turn for 400 years, as they claim. It is on a large heavy weight quality paper and ready for framing. I am not sure if i will colour him with pencils, promakers, pastels or maybe even water colour.... might do a sample of each in the morning on a seperate piece and deciede then. Only thing is, it is the sole sheet of this expensive paper that I have.

Anyway.... I am the luckiest guy ever! I am humbled by this I truly am. I am so proud to belong to this group of collectors, friends and brothers!!!

I must give a special shout out to toyark member SNOWFLAKIAN who wrote and offered me his Vision for my son if I didnt win. I cannot thank ALL of you enough.... you make collecting FANTASTIC!!!!

Also, raf... please choose ANY character at all and i will make you a drawing of legend my friend.

three things about that pic.

1. cant they both fly?
2. where are their seat belts?
3. one would think you would remove your cape before driving.

Other than that, seems perfectly natural!!!! ;)

1. Technically, Wanda doesn't have the gift of flight. She uses [chaos] magic to simulate that ability. Vision doesn't really "fly" either. It's more like directional floating, due to his density powers.

2. It was the 70's. Regular people would actually cut them out of the car, thinking they were useless. Add to that Vision's and Wanda's powers and I'm sure the lack of seat belts didn't bother them too much.

3. There are several members of the Bat-family that would disagree with you. Most notably, the big Bat himself.
