well now the next question is, is the chain removeable? it's obvisous with the outfit, that this is supposed to be johnny blaze.

Last week, things finally started trickling in...I've been too busy to comment about most of the things that were written on this thread, I could only read. I don't even have the time for proper pics, but I threw some things together very quickly. I'll likely revisit many of these pics when I get a breather...

Quick catch up on some comments: Antman's major enemy was Ultron. Contrary to what Avengers AOU would have you believe, Hank created him...there seemed to be some confusion about that. Someone mentioned Egghead, which is true, but I don't really think of him when I think of significant foils for Hank. Misty Knight has been a Marvel Universe mainstay for over four decades. My first introduction to her was as the long-term girlfriend of Danny Rand. It struck as profound as a kid because it was the only interracial couple I'd witnessed in comics at the time. She was also part of a Kung-fu trio: Daughters of the Dragon. Being a long term Heroes for hire fan, I'm very happy to have her. This current White Tiger is ok, but I'd much rather have the original: Hector Ayala (her older [deceased] brother). Hector wore all three 'Amulets of Power' (formerly worn by the Sons of the Tiger, individually). Again, I was introduced to Sons of the Tiger, and Hector by extension, through Heroes for hire. Danny sparred with them (SoT) often. The Sons of the Tiger had social relationships with the Daughters of the Dragon where they would occasionally interact with one another (it seems like all the 'Kung-fu' people know each other in Marvel). my first experience with Hector as the White Tiger was in team-up book with Spidey...whew that was mouthful (keyboardful) there...

I feel you, Kirathis. One wave and SDCC set later...and still no proper Guardians of the Galaxy. Still waiting for Adam Warlock, Mantis, Bug, Groot with clothes on, and Cosmo. I also like Major Victory, Jack Flag, Moondragon, and Phyla...

I've been very, very busy. I've barely enough time to see what you guys are talking about. I miss taking/posting pics most, and I'm quite vexed about having to throw up castaway photos...however, I've got some things in mind for when life slows down a bit and more waves roll into my mailbox...

I hear ya brotha, i sometimes get the same way... it becomes hard to find time to open and mess with new figures, also for me to read my weekly puchase of comics, and don't get me started how long it's been since i touched my PS4. And i literally have 2 newer games just sitting there.

Why would anyone want Groot with clothes on? He is a tree.

Yes, it does. In fact, my photo with GR fighting Pyramid Head has him holding the chain.

Does anyone know a good bike toy that would work with this GR?

Oh yeah, as for the Rhino/Silver Sable thing from the other day, what is this bs about them both being dead?

TheBlueMarvel 07-26-2015 09:13 AM

You are not familiar with "Annihilation"...I'll let someone else answer you...

When Groot was reintroduced in the comics during Annihilation Conquest he had a uniform and he continued to have one for awhile.

In the Spider-man event "Ends of the Earth" Rhino kills Silver Sable and himself by drowning. It gave Peter the ultimatum of either trying to save a friend or moving on to stop Doctor Octopus. He moved on to stop the bigger threat and so both Rhino and Sable died. He held himself responsible for both deaths personally since Rhino had recently been reformed and even married but when a new Rhino came along Spider-man failed to stop him from killing old Rhino's wife, the ordeal causing old Rhino to go on a rampage and kill the new Rhino.

That sounds like a pretty decent story! I've only read Spider-Verse, but Dan Slott's Spider-Man (and Superior) are held quite highly in terms of fan appeal, so I might check it out from the beginning.

On a ML note, are we expecting any surprise releases anytime before the end of the year? I don't understand why Hasbro have released three waves in this past month, only to leave the rest of the year dried up.

I did enjoy Ends of the Earth as one final Sinister Six story for the Amazing Spider-Man run. In order the primary event was issue 682 to 687. For me the best Spider-book in recent memory didn't even feature the wall-crawler, Nick Spencer's Superior Foes of Spider-Man.

Superior was excellent, spider-verse was good. Anybody see the end in spider verse with superior ?? I don't want to give it away but it left it slighty open for superior to somehow return, as well as kaine still being alive.

You and me both bud. I'm slowly working on a custom Phyla for my collection and trying to decide on pieces for the others

I've gotta say, reading Spider-Man my whole life, I think I preferred Doc Ock as Spidey than Peter Parker. Maybe it's because I'd read so many Parker stories and was stuck in a rut, but he seemed like he was a better Spider-Man than Pete ever was! Hopefully one day he shall return, though it'll probably just be plain ol' Doc Ock in a rebooted series to tie into the new movie :D

It was also great that he was an asshole to Peter's pals. Kid Nova showed up and was all "wow you're Spider-Man!" and Otto absolutely blows him off and goes on his way, good stuff.

and once again they're rebooting the series yet again come this october....

doc ock had more a darker side to him. Peter is more of a good, kind hearted hero.

Yeah, that is highly annoying. However, what is worse for me is my next paycheck is not until Sept 20th, so I'm just glad I had recently sold some Figuarts or I would have been ****ed for the Spider-Man wave, especially with the Guardians set being out a month early.

However, it is a good thing I will not be able to get the SDCC sets because I don't really have money for them. Thank the gods I am only going to buy Strange, WM, and Vision for the next Avengers wave.

Man, Kaine dying in Spider-Verse was a blow. I really enjoyed his character (I'm a big Chris Yost fan so follow anything he writes), and it was a shame that he had to bite the dust. Ah well, someone had to die.

At least he got a ML figure before he did, though!

Yes I forgot about the Guardians pack aswell, and the 3-pack with Doc Green/White Vision/Ultron. I assume Hasbro enjoys bankrupting its customers during Summer, then disappearing for 6 months.

I'm almost done with my Jack Flag. I'll post pictures once he's done. But we totally need more. Phyla and Mantis and Bug and Cosmo and a Adam Warlock from that era (maybe with swap-able Magus parts)!

Not necessarily... you don't recall his human hand breaking out of the giant spidey corpse?

TheBlueMarvel 07-27-2015 07:29 AM

I've enjoyed this Spidey wave much more than I initially thought I would, especially The Chameleon...

Nice pictures all from the Rhino wave. Now I almost wish I'd ordered the Chameleon and Ghost Rider too. Maybe if I find them at retail.

Man I can't wait until tomorrow morning to try and snag that SDCC set. It's been taunting me on Amazon for two weeks now. But if I miss it on HTS I'm going to just go ahead and pay out the nose for it right then and there.
