While I agree something should have been done, it's a lot easier for Hasbro to do something like that with an in-house brand than it is for a licensed IP.

kylactus 04-18-2014 02:36 PM

It kind of makes you wonder why Disney, who now owns two of Hasbro's biggest toy properties (Star Wars, and Marvel) plus countless other characters and movie properties doesn't start there own toy company. They certainly have the means to produce all this stuff in house like Marvel did with Toy Biz, then Disney's Marvel division could assert more direct control over
what gets produced.

I would LOVE this. As much as I love Hasbro and what they've done, Disney's in-house merchandise team does some amazing stuff. Really high quality merchandise. I'm talking the stuff at the Disney Stores or Disney Parks - don't confuse it with the stuff you see at Walmart or whatever. To have them expand that team to work with the many other properties they now own would be great.

And it could go both ways - cool action figures of Disney's classic characters, anyone?

Avengers Infinite 3.75" Figure Series 03 - Case of 12 - Marvel Figures (Hasbro) Avengers Infinite

Woo hoo! Now that is a great case pack, I ordered the set of 6, cheaper than retail here. I thought about splitting a case with another arker, but it's easier to get the set now. I can get a good secret avengers team with these. Seems like everything but wasp and hulk peg warmed from wave 1. I bet this wave will directionally float off the shelves.

^ nice moon knight en Sabah nerd! Speaking of apocalypse, I hope we see archangel in the next x movie (after dofp).

Thank you. I kind of hope that in X-Men: Apocalypse: firstly I hope they don't drop the ball with Apocalypse, and secondly yeah I wanna see some X-men become his horsemen.

kylactus 04-18-2014 04:31 PM

loving that Ink man! ^^^ a movie Archangel would be awesome! just hope they don't butcher the look of him and Apocalypse too much.

Def cheaper then running around wasting time finding them as well, and gas that's including the shipping as well! I noticed BBTS is starting to drop the prices on a few of the other case assortments as well. The wave 2 of the Cap Legends has a 4 case assortment which is basically cost the same at retail. Maybe they finally realize they need to price adjust accordingly.

Agreed with the Apocalypse and Archangel comment!!! So far the sentinels look spot on though.

Just curious, who would everyone want to see play Apocalypse in a movie? the first person who pops into my mind is Laurence Fishburn (Morbious from the matrix).

Ya mean Morpheus (not the science-vampire). I would have liked for Michael Clarke Duncan to be Apocalypse, but unfortunately that won't happen. I can't say who should do it now, but there's a fair chance that whoever it is will be wrong to me. Apocalypse is my favorite villain, so either I'll hate the casting beyond reason or say they did well with what they could.

ha my bad! I don't think Duncan would be right, he had the size but he never struck me as a "mastermind villain" no offense to the dude but I didn't like him as kingpen. but he was good in Sin City. he's more of a bruiser than a thinker IMO. I think Fishburn (with some makeup and CGI)has the right look in the face, of course his physique isn't what I'd call Apocalypse material. But knowing fox they'll call Bruno Mars.... you know who just came to mind too, (I saw him in a commercial just now) Shaq! and we know he's got the acting chops... Shazam anyone?

En Sabah Nerd 04-18-2014 07:33 PM

I think Keith David (HBO's Spawn) or Arnold Vosloo (the mummy franchise) could definitely be the voice of Apocalypse. Fishburne is too calm for me, which is why I really liked his voice for the silver surfer.

Fair point, let's drop this topic until a toy is made about it, thanks for keeping us in line warden!

kylactus 04-18-2014 08:26 PM

yeah lets go back to sitting silently....... that was fun......
soooo looking at the new deaths head figure, (and to draw the topic back in) that would be a hell of an Apocalypse buck. The one we have is cool, but he's a little bulky, I've always liked his earlier look (leaner and taller).

Death's head looks like he's using the colossus buck, which has also been used for Mr. Sinister. I extremely like the existing Apocalypse figure (both versions), I think if they made a new one it should be the Hercules/Omega Red buck.

I'm more than sure that they've come to the conclusion that outsourcing their products is much cheaper. They have had 80 years to make their own toy company but haven't. curious though, what company does make stuff for disney?

Disney does make their own product, but only the stuff that's exclusive to Disney Parks and Disney Stores. It's done completely in house, and it's really high quality stuff as I said above. From what I understand most of the other stuff - the toys you find at Walmart, etc - is made either by Mattel or a separate division within Disney that deals with outside manufacturers called Disney Consumer Products.

gotcha. but yeah, i would love it if they bought hasbro and did an overhaul with them.

kylactus 04-19-2014 10:03 AM

^^^^that's what Marvel did with Toybiz in the 90's

cidman911 04-19-2014 06:27 PM

Has anybody found a white suit Fantastic Four set at Ross or TJ Maxx?

This one: http://www.kukkodaa.com/WebRoot/GPL/...TEAM_WHITE.jpg

All I see is GOTG and blue suit FF set in my area.
