Flash looks great. Will not fight for it though. Much like the Az Bats, tried but not wasting the energy any longer. Make it easy or I'll end up saving all my cash on most of their products is my new mantra. No point getting reverse, if I cant get this flash. The domino effect.

Yeah, I'll totally get this figure so my Catwoman has someone to fight. :)

Slackr 05-19-2023 02:58 PM

Batgirl

This looks nothing like Yvonne Craig. Plus the figure was shown next to Batman and Robin-and she was taller than Batman. On the show she was shorter than Robin. Apparently, scale was thrown out the window here.

She looks more like a Barbie than a figure based on the show.

Raine24 05-19-2023 03:55 PM

Craig's estate hasn't been playing ball with Batgirl merch for a while so it can't look like her, that's why her packaging says Batman '66 instead of Batman - Classic TV Series; she's from the comic based on the show rather than the show itself. Two-Face has the same distinction along with (presumably) the upcoming Lord Death Man.

I just got the figures from cmdstore and I can confirm that she isn't taller than Batman. It would be difficult to see in pics, but she's actually a tiny bit shorter.

I've always found that interesting. Like... If you don't wanna profit off your deceased relative's likeness, I understand that, but some just want ludicrous amounts of money for likeness rights when the person never was or hasn't been a big name in decades...

Ugh this is a terrible look to with. Should done the og version. Use this tripe as a gold label.

Designincase 05-21-2023 04:18 PM

My guess is this will be retooled into the Luke Fox suit.

Strange..Mcfarlane finally does a manties version of Batman and none of the grandpa panty lovers are saying hooray for banana hammocks on the outside of a superhero costume. DC fans..I'll never understand them.

Joking aside i am actually happy the 80’s batman suit i grew up reading is finally getting done.

Thatannoyingguy 05-22-2023 06:50 AM

Oh I didn’t know Target charged me as soon as I preordered Flash. I thought they would only charge me once they ship the figure. Oh well. Lesson learned.

I agree, and with actors, you'd think their business is face and name recognition. They like their fame to be immortalized on films, so why not toys and statues for the new generation? Why make it difficult?

Haven't kept up with Batman and his harem of sidekicks. This guy named himself "Batwing"? He knows that's Batman's plane, right?

HOO-FUCKING-RA!!! This figure is a FANTASTIC Aparo/Byrne Batman. Sure it's marketed as "Knightfall" but, with those colors and head sculpt? Late 70's/early 80's greatness right there. Very VERY happy to see the new articulation scheme is present.

The neck and old Revoltech style articulation were the only things that knocked Hush Bats down a couple of points for me. Hush Bats also has the "Manties" as you call them. In fact almost every version of Batman McFarlane has released uses it. Not sure why you said,"Finally."

I've always preferred the "Overwear" (I'm not calling it "Manties") design because it breaks up the sea of grey. It's just how I think of Batman and Superman. Probably due to the fact that I looked at that design cue for 30 years before it was changed.

Great figure. I'll definitely be picking it up.

An actor's likeness is a huge part of their "Brand". And like any brand it needs to be managed and maintained. The Estate of a deceased individual wants to make money if the likeness is used. And why not? The toy company is clearly using the likeness to sell a product. It only makes sense an Estate would want fair compensation and control what they feel is "appropriate use". I'm not at all speaking to an Estate's reticence to allow said use. Just to the "why the difficulty" portion of the conversation.

I've always thought that was the stupidest name of any Batskick. Was he silver in the comics? Looks to be black suited on the card art. But it's Todd so they rarely makes a difference.

I didn't even notice hush had manties.. this version though there is a clear contrast stark color difference. You can't get more grandpa panty lover than this version.

There have been clearly contrasted and stark color differences in all the Batman McFarlane figures that use briefs. Knightfall Batman is no exception. ActionFigure411 has a visual guide. Check for yourself and be amazed at all the briefiness you've been missing!

Hahah.I have not been missing manties on super heros..one of the stupidest (if not THE STUPIDEST) design decisions in the pantheon of bad character designs.

Why exactly was it stupid for guys designing superheroes in the 30s and 40s to include trunks as a way to draw on the imagery of circus strongmen, a ubiquitous image of immense strength at the time? And then for guys designing superheroes later to also use trunks to draw on their by-then-established association with superheroes as an image of strength?

Humans (while they may be characters) are not designed by people. So they aren't considered character designs. Now if you are referring to human study that's different. Im not.. Im referring to character design. And again I type ..nostalgia does not make a design a good design, it makes it nostalgia. There has been many great designs in the past of many things. Old men wearing panties on the outside of their stockings..not one of them. But hey if it makes you all warm inside to see it good for you. It looks stupid and clownish. I love the ever-changing fashion in clothing, sportswear, armor, and character design. My thoughts ,though travel to nostalgia, are not stuck in the past. Like reality I have moved on. I understand nostalgia. But I don't get being mad at the world for moving on, from my past. We aren't in the 30s or 40s. We are in the 20s..lol

hasbroherofan 05-22-2023 04:47 PM

If I were concerned about things that’d look silly when objectively considered, superheroes would be a bad thing to take an interest in. Figure looks great, btw.

Well put...not to mention the bad asses of professional wrestling at that time such as Karl Gotch, "Strangler" Ed Lewis, Verne Gagne, Jim Londos, and Lou Thesz...who "worked" matches as we've come to know in the modern times, but were also legitimate shooters who could stretch you ten ways from Sunday if crossed them.
