@Donmecca
@warmachine

I'm so confused...yeah, it does look like they are. However, Nova's a smaller buck and that definitely won't do for Batman....but others like the Flash etc...might work. I'll need to see for myself. I'll check some LCS's tomorrow to see if I can nab one and then post comparative pics...that is, if I find one worth pulling the trigger on...it won't be that Batman.

Yeah, as cool as Bat's looks, unless you're doing a dedicated display of JUST those figures, he's gonna look pretty shrimpy, haha. The only reason I'm tempted by him is all those sweet accessories he has (can't believe it's taken this long for interchangeable hands to become standard, haha)

As I struggle with this Icons/Legends scale comparison, it makes me wonder if I've simply blinded myself to the discrepancies between DCUC/Legends over the years...

with at articulation and detail

Love it TBM! Keep the pics coming people!!

Kirathis 11-18-2015 07:50 PM

I cannot tell if I am imagining things in the Nova comparison pic but it looks like Nova is not standing straight up but rather ever so slightly spread legged. Probably my imagination.

That being said, Bats looks so tiny from a muscularity standpoint. Shame too since height wise, Bats being as tall as Nova would work for me.

Awesome pics Raf and TBM! Even if that group of TBM's Kree soldiers does make me jealous LOL.

Hah, thanks! I'd rather that they make you think,"cool, they really look like they got messed up by Hawkman!"...as opposed to, "damn, I'm jealous!" :p

Yeah, I noticed that Nova is standing a bit spreadeagled. Although, that shouldn't account for that much height. The photo also made me recognize that Nova is a smaller buck...

It does help that I don't have more than a handful of DCUC sized figures, so I don't have a massive collection of DC figures that'll tower over these like some other collectors do.

The problem is I have nearly every figure Mattel released (at least right now as I'm planning to sell off a huge lot of them). If I didn't already have a huge DC collection and wanted something to start that was fresh and new, this would be the way to go. However, it isn't, and I'm not sure I want to start a DC line over from scratch.

Has anyone seen Flash out in the wild yet? He and Green Arrow are the two from this wave that I'd really like to get.
Flash is apparently not out until Jan 20th according to DC's own site.

As for Arrow, there are things I want to get him for, but I'm not a fan of that costume. If it was his classic one, maybe.

They got well with the Figuarts...

Black Arbor 11-18-2015 10:28 PM

To whoever was looking forward to Green Arrow, I'd advise you not to get him. He's very undetailed and gangly, and pretty much his only redeeming factor are the bow and arrows he comes with. :(

Dr Kain 11-18-2015 10:40 PM

I stand corrected:

Which is exactly my point. The line is pretty much useless to those who already have extensive 6-7" scaled collections of DC figures, but to someone like myself, who has roughly a handful of DC figures around this size, this could be a great opportunity to build a solid collection of DC comics figures.

Difference of opinion, but I honestly think he looks great. Granted, I haven't seen the figure in person yet, but every picture I've seen of him thus far looks good. He's as detailed as he needs to be and is realistically proportioned. One of the big turn-offs of the DCUC line for me was the vast majority of them looking like roided out cosplayers with painted on costumes.

No, the link was to a facebook page where someone was scaling Icons Batman with other figures. Gohan, Goku, Figuarts Joker, Figuarts Harley, Legends Ghost Rider, and some big Hawkeye.

i'm gonna have to agree. Batman is supposed to be a pretty large size guy.

True, but he's also from a completely different universe than Nova...

Why is it so important to some collectors that their DC and Marvel collections scale well next to each other?

Seriously, I watched the most incredibly immature review of Icons Green Arrow last night. The guy ripped off the figure's quiver strap when it slightly annoyed him, and later in the video proceeded to have a huge hissy fit over the figure being just slightly shorter than the average Marvel Legends figure...

Zorn88 11-19-2015 12:28 PM

It's a big deal for me, because when you have Batman standing next to Spider-Man (or whoever) and he is a full head taller than Batman, it bugs me. Not only on an OCD standpoint, but because it's not at all accurate.

That guy sounds incredibly immature, haha. I mean, breaking your own toy when it annoys you? Did he happen to be five years old? :D I've never been a mixer of DC and Marvel figures, it's just not for me, but I know some people like to mix and match, which, again, is just preference :) And I hope i didn't come across as bashing the Green Arrow figure earlier, I was just pointing out some stuff I didn't care for, haha. The main thing I'm disappointed by is that he looks like he's undetailed in the sense that the sculpted edges aren't as defined as they should be. :( I don't need realistic, leathery texturing on his entire costume, but at least make him look like he's not carved out of soap :D

KcKilla 11-19-2015 04:47 PM

Just came here to say....you had ONE JOB, DC, ONE! Seriously, how hard is it to take a competitors figure, set it down on the table and say, "OK guys, we need to make him THIS tall, and then MOST of the people who buy those, will buy THESE..."

These guys are even shorter than imports, SMDH...

I found Batgirl much more likable in the animated shows than Robin because she didn't complain all the damn time and wasn't always Batgirl 100% of the time. I really wanna see this line continue as strong as it has been so that we can maybe see some non-Batman animated figures later and some more obscure characters from Batman like the Gray Ghost.

I also enjoyed her portrayal in the series. The "Animated" line, while not my cup of tea, has been fun to watch from afar. I always enjoy seeing pics of the figures.
