I politely disagree =3

Nice. I had no idea there even was an MU Claw.. hopefully he gets a single release in 2012, because I've never seen that Comic Pack.

D00MTR0N 11-17-2011 08:29 AM

Mac Gargun. He was right after Eddie Brock.

ok next question lol,why is he so much bigger muscle wise then brock,I mean look at the 2 figures,it is the same symbiote right?

actually my lazy ass just googled gargan and I forgot he was once scorpion which explains the size, though with the ss venom figure I think instead of the arm gimmick they should have given him a scorpion tail like they did with the 6"spiderman line venom.

Who do you think I am... Jason Addadon?

Without hitting Marvel wikia for fine details... I was always under the assumption that Mac was just a bigger dude than Eddie was.

P.S. Mac was Scorpion too. I at least know that.

Yea, I thought that was Onslaught, not Cyborg Mag...

Actually, there were at least two different Venoms between these guys, but Eddie and Mac had the symbiote the longest thus far, aside from Peter Parker.

It's mostly artistic style. Back in the late 80's/early 90's when Eddie Brock first debuted, he was enormous. He was taller, and more filled out than Schwartzeneiger. It was meant to be a juxtoposition to Peter Parker, who was skinny, small, and gangly. The difference in size coupled with Peter's inability to 'spider sense' Eddie in the symbiote was meant to be the ultimate challenge to Peter's abilities.

As time went on, Venom became more and more scaled down, so that around the time of the Maximum Carnage story, he was just a little bigger than Peter.

Mac Gargan, on the other hand, has always been equal to Peter, if not a little smaller. His scorpion suit put him on an even playing field with Spidey when he first came out in the mid-60's. When he purchased the symbiote after it was put up for auction, it manifested itself differently on him, again making the Venom character much bigger than Spider-Man, and one of the powerhouse characters in the Marvel Universe once more. (Albeit on a much smaller scale than people like Colossus, Thing, and Hulk).

In the end, it's just the difference between how artists interpret the character, which translates to the figures. Though you could say that the Stretch Strike Venom is probably the most accurate and true size of the character in general.

D00MTR0N 11-17-2011 09:13 AM

thanks pete,very informative.

Peteparker 11-17-2011 09:37 AM

No problem. At least my 15 years of comic collecting and 5 years of character profile writing can serve some kind of purpose somewhere, lol.

Good stuff. Thanks, Pete. While you were typing that I was reading up on Mac a little.. I had no idea he was given superhuman powers through chemical and radiological treatments when he was first Scorpion.

Agreed on both counts. I ended up picking him on evilbay:( Seller was from Singapore though so I hope to God it's not a fake! Saved a little on shipping though and did the "Buy it Later" program which gave back 15 bucks in ebay $. So overall paid 70.

And yes wish he was carded like Archangel...

synapse17 11-17-2011 10:42 AM

Heads up Arkers Hasbro Toy Shop has Dr. Strange and Skar in stock. Just ordered mine.

perrych 11-17-2011 10:59 AM

I always thought that the Gargan Venom was bigger because Mac gave himself over to they symbiote far more than Eddie did. Eddie was the hero of the "innocent", while Gargan went over the deep end after being conjoined to the Scorpion suit. So, the more evil, the bigger the Venom. Peter Parker was always fighting the suit, so he obviously was not bigger.

That said, nothing about Osborne giving a pill to Venom would transform the symbiote to a slightly larger Spider-Man.

RexLewis85 11-17-2011 11:03 AM

OH MAN. I really want a Klaw figure now. How hard is he to find?

Me neither, I saw Lord Marvel get it a while back and got it from him right away haha.

Reaver Strike 11-17-2011 12:27 PM

Klaw was packaged with Cap America.

Exodus 11-17-2011 12:29 PM

My Hasbro order's are all at the post office, has anyone had issues where PO won't leave the items at your door if you do not have a big enough mail box for it, and requires you to go and pick up the items there?

That's a pretty good explanation too, I'd just never heard it before. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the official reason for the size difference.

I just saw three of those packs in the past two weeks at Walmarts and Targets. I don't think it's impossible to find, but you really have to look a bit.

I picked one up a couple of weeks ago at walmart. I asked the same question wondering if it was from a rev. case since it was from the first 2 pack wave and found out it is indeed in some rev cases

Nada for me, unless it was something that needed to be signed for.

Also, in case anyone hadn't heard yet, the female ghost rider book just got the axe.

Marvel has no female solo super hero titles now, and who knows what might be next at this rate. Daken looks like it's rushing to use wolverine again to try and bring sales back instead of bucky, the man daken actually hates more than anyone else in the MU (and the one fans actually want to see!). Avengers Academy could be next, or any other titles that sold under X-23's numbers like Thunderbolts.

Dammit. I hope Hasbro cranks out a female GR figure still, cause otherwise there's no hope from marvel at this rate with how they are slimming down the line to the complete fluff titles like Avengers and X-Men have been lately. We can have god knows how many spider-man (scarlet spider's new book counts since he's just the clone of petey who kills) books, avenger books, and X-Men books, even wolverine gets more than one book, but any title that's not them? Blood in the water and the sharks are coming.

That used to happen to me when I lived in the hood. Better than the alternative: vintage G1 Transformers getting swiped off my porch because some meth addict thinks he can take whatever's in there to the pawnshop.
