So I just ordered off a MOC Silver Surfer with Howard the Duck figure. So knowing how my luck works, Hasbro is bound to reveal a new Silver Surfer any time soon.

Yeah, I've been told that is the best Silver Surfer figure to date, so I figured for $25 I couldn't go wrong. The only thing is from the pictures I have seen, his board doesn't have pegs on it, so how does he stay attached?
|
I thought it had magnets. unless that was the Walmart exclusive one
|
nope, the WM version had pegs

My advice for any Silver Surfer figure is to invest in a Bandai Trident figure stand. They are perfect for displaying him in some VERY dynamic poses.

The magnets in that Surfer work well. If you are using the stand under the board, the trick is remembering to tighten the screw in the stand so that it is not flimsy. After that you should have little problem as the magnets do a good job. I am curious to try the stand option Frank mentioned though.
Personally, if I could combine the overall look of the Hasbro one with the functionality of the Toybiz one it would be a perfect Surfer figure. |
Looks like that Walgreens Daredevil is floating around out there now, as overpriced Ebay auctions are now starting to appear. Keep an eye out for it. Happy hunting!

I typically use mine to display Annihilus, but I pulled him off to show how great this stand is for displaying the Silver Surfer. I really need to order a few more of these things, because they're great for other winged figures, like Archangel, or for staging aerial fight scenes, like Spidey vs. Green Goblin (or any other Goblin that doesn't typically stay put on his glider). http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps8bl8jmxb.jpg http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/z...pshv4oggai.jpg http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/z...psqhy29e3b.jpg |
