Same. Though, doesnt look like it'll have as many paint hits as the prototype did in the leaked pic.Which is too bad.

It is. I wanted to do a little work to it anyway. Guess now I'll be doing a little more.

Atomsmasher 05-13-2024 09:13 AM

Do you think the leak is the platinum edition?

BLACKBAT18 05-13-2024 09:16 AM

for real, i'm glad it's finally coming out. i remember the leak from last year and then another leak saying it was part of a two pack.
from what i can see there is some paint missing from the official version compared to the leak version.

it's possible the guy got the prototype sample and repainted it? anyways can't wait to pick it up.

More than likely the leak from a year or so ago WAS the proto and the official image is the production. On second look it seems less like there is paint missing and more like some of the tones were revised. Especially in the metal bits. The eyes do not look red and there is actually added paint on the jaw line and upper lip. Crappy comparison pic attached.

If they include an alt right fist it would be nice. Even if it were a regular fleshy one.

The craziest part about this to me is that the chest emblem is perfect. It needs to be used on damn near every McSupes figure he makes.

jayvee 05-13-2024 08:42 PM

Must be a generational thing because that Superman does nothing for me. I like cleaner sculpts over the hyper sculpted look, and I prefer classic and simplistic 1960s and 1970s looks. Probably because that's where the bulk of my comic book reading and collecting is based on. I'm happy for fans who were eager to get this made, but am personally hoping for something else.

Dotanuki 05-14-2024 12:48 AM

I am happy with my Mafex Cyborg Superman. It is only logical to go for Mafex in my stuation anyway. I am an international collector and a McFarlane figure costs me around 65 dolar or something with the shipping cost and tax. Why pay that for Mcfarlane when you can get Mafex for around same price from a japanese site. Another disadvantege is the release schedule, Todd bombards the market with Multiverse figures none-stop, i can't afford that when a Multiverse Figure costs me 65 dolar or something. Mafex Release Schedule is alot slower, that is alot afforable for a figure that cost me 65 dolar or something and the Mafex quality is alot higher.

This is my stuation ofcourse, if i could get Mcfarlane for 30 dolar or even cheaper with the discounts Americans enjoy, my house would be full of McFarlane figures as well. (:

I still enjoy to follow what is new from McFarlane and talk about it though. I only have 1 McFarlane DC Multiverse figure. ;_; That is the Multiverse Gold Label Todd McFarlane Batman figure. I found it on a local store with a very expensive price, but still pulled the trigger because it is a really cool figure.

I think this might be an instance of Mcfarlane letting the sculptors put their own spin on it. Cause the actual version of the character seems to still be a-relatively-clean and sleek design but nowhere near as carapacial as the figure. Seems like there is a strong 90s Fewture/Creature Core vibe to it (much more so in the prototype) and the figure seems to have quite a bit in common with some of that aesthetic.

How the heck do you have to pay $65 for a McFarlane figure? $20 for shipping and then $20 for tax, or something like that, like what? Holy cow, that’s too high. Anyone would be dumb to buy any McFarlane figure for that much, I’m sorry.

I have Mafex Cyborg Superman as well, and it’s a great figure, but it could’ve been better. Half the S shield should’ve been glossy black, and the metallic parts on its right leg should’ve been more visible when viewed from the front. Anyway, Mafex CS is like Mafex classic Magneto, you don’t have to buy another one of the same character ever again cuz they look pretty much accurate and have a lot to offer for articulation and accessories.

Edit: I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t buy McFarlane CS if I saw it in my nearest store. He looks pretty cool!

That's what's weird for me. I usually don't like things like this. Like, AT ALL. But for whatever reason I really like this. I'm old too. LOL

I think you're right. Dude, you took me back saying "Fewture". Wow. Ain't thought about that studio in years.

I think GIJoe Classified's Freedom's been fulfilling that role.

jayvee 05-14-2024 10:05 AM

That Atom is sweeeeeet! Pair that with my Showcase 34 and I'm in a very happy place! Great looking figure.

That shoulder cut joint is way bad. Why in the world would they do that?

DC Sausage-verse

juggernaut209 05-15-2024 07:00 AM

Definitely getting that classic Atom. My immediate reaction was "they're including that eagle with Superman, but no mini Atom is pictured?" Glad they confirmed something would be included, hopefully it's multiple versions with creative poses.

I'm with you. I was enthused over the Silver Age Atom until I saw how butt ugly it looks.
