IF i'm reading it wrong please someone break it down for me, I'm only after DC stuff

I am pretty sure those figures are originating straight from the factory, and Mattel doesn't necessarily originate manufacturing for the accessories for figures in the same factory as the figures themselves, and when they do they may not run the two molds in the same timeframe.

Just about every straight-from-China DCUC figures on eBay have been made available without any packaging or accessories.

They are loose figures, but not in the sense that they are from an "open-box." These are versions that never made it into a box in the first place. :)

Bubba's quoting the combined price for each of the 3 individual subscriptions he signed up for (including 3 club-exclusive figures) + first month's figure, taxes, & shipping for each (3).

6 figures in all are reflected in that price.

Each figure in each month in each subscription after the first month is an additional cost.

thanks bro

so just so I understand you pay for a subscription and in that you get the 1st figure as a part of that then you pay month to month for the others?

Not exactly, you get the "free" subscription-only figure with your $30 subscription. At the time you sign-up, they also charge you for the first month figure.

I have a breakdown of it posted here: http://www.toyark.com/2013-club-infi...e3/#post327781

Hope that helps. :)

KingLouie731 07-25-2012 09:21 AM

alright I think I have it now. so in essense the cost of the sub is really $12 and then $18 for that 'free' figure + taxes. so that isn't too bad for the sub but $26 seems high for a new figure. I liked your idea about case packing and wish they would just do that and make the line viable instead of seemingly forcing the sub so that we can get the characters we want like that Wally West

The 2012 subscription-only figure (Mallah & Brain) is the only oversized (CnC) figure for 2013. Using 2012 as an example (Rocket Red, Elasti-Girl, Lead), these are typically priced at $30 each, plus taxes & shipping (approx. $40 total). Regular figures are $18 plus taxes & shipping (approx. $26 total).

They are more expensive for cherry-pickers on day-of sale.

So with that rationale, the cost of the subscription can be considered a subscription fee with a free figure OR a $30 figure with a free contract binding you to participate in the subscription. Either way, that portion is $30 plus tax.

Does a subscriber have to buy the monthly figure or could they just purchase the figures during the year that they want?

If you subscribe you will automatically be buying every single figure for the year.

ToyAddict 07-25-2012 05:36 PM

So I'm over on matty reading an article they've put up today (this), and for one they don't know that Elongated Man is not MOTUC, but second they're saying part of that whole "Early Access" thing is that subscribers can purchase anything they're selling that's NOT part of a subscription a few days before the general public, including SDCC items!

Less than a week left and it's starting to look a whole lot like last year. We aren't even going to come close.

Ohhhhh boi.

ToyAddict 07-30-2012 07:36 PM

It's been said before and I said it recently in the Appreciation Thread. . .in short, we'd be okay with paying $18 for a premium figure. It's that you add onto that $12+ for shipping and taxes and suddenly these are $30 each. Shipping should not cost that much, and I'm getting charged tax on the shipping cost which I think is wrong.

The figures they've shown just aren't as compelling, IMO, as what they baited us with last year. Plus as it turns out, the 2012 sub had several shipments combined (a monthly fig + an oversized fig in one shipping carton). 2013 we won't get that but once. We'll pay a TON in shipping. I subbed in 2012, glad I did, characters ended up being pretty good overall, but I can't do it in 2013 I don't think. I'll have to hope they put the one or two they've shown so far that I want in the retail line or make them available some other way. But if not, life goes on.

ToyAddict 08-03-2012 04:44 AM

Just read through all the "fine print" of subscription details, and found this gem:

For 2013, there will be updates to shipping costs and methods, including a new, lower cost option for international customers. Most shipping methods will see small increases in cost, although some premium methods will see a slight decrease in cost.

As if the shipping wasn't already high enough. . .

freakout117 08-03-2012 11:42 AM

Has anyone noticed the slight growth in the thermometer, it grew a tiny bit.

Tiberius 08-03-2012 11:54 AM

2013 won't be happening. It is sad and I wanted to sub, but the shipping increase is the killer. Also, as I am in Canada it takes 3-4 weeks for my figure to arrive.

Bubba304 08-03-2012 01:28 PM

this sucks

freakout117 08-03-2012 09:33 PM

Tell me about it.

freakout117 08-06-2012 10:36 AM

Last day guys, the thermometer grew.

It grew twice today, once this morning and once again this evening. It's still short though.

Bubba304 08-06-2012 07:41 PM

i can't believe it only grew that much....what sucks is they don't give us numbers...like "how many subs need to be sold" and "how many have currently been sold" without those numbers we really have no clue what they are showing us....another bad tactic by toy guru....its like fighting an uphill battle

freakout117 08-06-2012 08:25 PM

sssoooo close

jmo 08-06-2012 09:25 PM
