Am I late to the party on the whole fantomex is dead thing? Man did not see that coming, Uxf continues to the best marvel book bar none with daredevil right there behind it.

They better never fuck with it, I want remender to write it until the end of time lol.

Haha, yeah I've been trying not to spoil the death of Fantomex recently. However, if Marvel has taught me anything about fantomex, regardless of mystique's poison, its that misdirection has retcon potential. He could have misdirected mystique into believing she poisoned him and then he could have let himself be taken to the skinless man, misdirected him into believing he killed him and then sent an order to EVA to evolve and aid X-Force (which I don't like btw, there's already Danger, we don't need another).


I personally hope his death is real because then the book really does have meaning and would therefore be Marvels best book IMO. Unfortunately they just had Psylocke attempt to kill herself Seppuku style (disembowelment to the uninitiated) at the end of the most recent issue and doubt that will hold since shes still on the cover of October's issue in the Marvel solicitations. Plus, hasn't she died and been resurrected already?

And I doubt Fantomex will stay dead. "Phantom X" (as I see it in my head. Nod to the 90's or just laziness?) is too popular right now to let go, I think.

Although I've always felt he was a walking McGuffin. How many powers and abilities do you want to give this guy before he becomes ridiculously over-powered? Next thing you know, he will develop flight, be impervious to bullets and have heat vision.

Maybe I'd like him more if I read more of the actual comics, but still.
