I wish ours were like that. By the weekend the shelves are always barren.

Okay, the one I got in the mail a couple of weeks ago that I thought was the Mark III is apparently actually the Mark IV. I bought a Mark III last night at Toys R Us to make a helmet-less Tony Stark, and when I had the two figures next to each other I noticed they were completely different. I actually like the Mark IV ALOT better.

rwsharpjr 02-20-2010 10:41 AM

I picked up a couple of the First Appearance Comic Series Iron Man figures.
I thought that one was gold, but apparently it just has more wash on it.

Picked up War Machine yesterday and he is amazing. I really like that the shoulder pads can be moved to avoid restricting the articulation. Also the shoulder weapons are articulated too.

Definitely recommending this one. If you get any of this line at all, make sure WM is one of them.

I agree warmachine is my favorite too.

A close second is IM Movie Mark 1. It has pretty standard articulation but what really makes it for me is the paint job. It is very intricate and if anything should be a mus if you want a hall of armor or an evolution of Iron Man

decepticon_mark 02-21-2010 08:56 AM

Found only the deluxe packs and one of the original armors here at our TRU, the rest was sold out{huge endcap display}. I picked up the deluxes. The figures in the deluxe packs{Negative Zone upgrade and Juggernaut upgrade} seem very flimsy and remind me of a happy meal toy but the armor upgrades are pretty cool and they will fit on your MU Iron Mans so that where they'll be going in my collection{on all my extra armors like with the upcoming Target two packs}.

In what ways is the Mark IV better? Just curious, I've only seen it via Ebay auctions but have seen he Mark III in person. Sounds good that the Mark IV turned out better.

It's alot more intricate and streamlined. I think the biggest differences are in the torso. I loved the Mark III, but the upper torso just kind of always gave me a "car body" vibe. That may have been intentional, though.

Gotcha, I saw pics of it yesterday and the Mark IV looks much better than the Mark III. I saw the Mark III in person and felt somewhat underwhelmed. Looks decent, but I already have the same mold in different paints; Mark II. The Mark II is excellent, I LOVE the shiny paint job, just wish it had molded rivets instead of painted.

Same here, saw the Negative Zone armor too...the base figures look cheap.

well good to hear its a good figure. ive heard sum bad stuff about the articulation of it

zedhatch 02-25-2010 09:23 AM

I found the comic series, Got War machine, Crimson Dynamo, and Original IM. Think I might get either Mark III or Mark Iv Armored IM when I see the movie wave and that be it for now. Iron Monger doesn't do much for me anyway (he is technically the wrong scale).

Do want Hulkbuster and Titanium Man but those as well but those don't hit for a while.

The ones I have are excellent though, Definatly great figs ad am very glad to add them to my collection.

boombatty 02-25-2010 10:45 AM

I picked up the Comic Series set 01 (War Machine, First Armor, Red/Gold and Stealth Armor and Crimson Dynamo at a Kmart in West Chester, PA of all places. I went to get that new Super Mario game for the Wii for my kids since they were so good at the dentist and walked out with 2 arm fulls of figures (and Firestorm and Robin Earth 2 to boot from the DC series). When did Kmart become the figure place to go? The drag is Kmart is quite possibly the most overpriced store in all creation.

About the only issue articulation-wise is his hip joints are somewhat restricted so he can't raise his legs up beyond a decent running pose. But it's a design issue more than anything to do with QC. Besides, how often do we see Rhody do any martial arts-style kicks while in the suit?

I think you just answered your own question. ;)

Perhaps, lolz, but it used to be they were over-priced for the stuff that was from 6-9 months ago. Now they seem to get the latest and greatest before everyone else. This is new.

Tarquinius 02-25-2010 03:18 PM

Speaking of Kmart when are we suppose to get that 3 pack of assorted metal armor?

decepticon_mark 02-25-2010 03:38 PM

:):D Yippie, found the Iron Man single carded figures today, twice. Kmart had the cases on the shelves unopened so of course they wouldn't sell them but they would sell the little robot heroes, go figure. Anyway Target came thru. Picked up Deep Dive Armor, Power Assault Armor, and :D WAR MACHINE, all for 6.99 each. They had alot of the other stuff too including the race car which actually in person doesn't look that bad but even with parts of it becoming a booster pack for the figure I just can't break down and buy a formula one for Iron Man to drive. Now if we get a Tony Stark figure, then I'll consider it.

I did the same and picked up both. I kind of like the differences. one just looks more beat up and rusted.

True. Maybe someone whispered into the K-Mart CEO's ear and he said "What? You mean if we have new stuff, people will actually be willing to pay our ridiculous mark-ups and we won't have as much backstock? Slice me off a piece of that action, Homey!"

...or something like that.
