I love me some GLA...or GLX...I forget which.

But they REALLY deserve a figure each.

Who else?

Squirrel Girl (w/ Monkey Joe and Tippy Toe)

Mr Immortal

Doorman

I'm calling it now. When the Deadpool movie comes out we are getting Regular Deadpool, X-men variants of DP, Mr Immortal, Cable, Exclusive Deadpool Corps (w/ Dogpool Lady Deathpool etc) and BOB of HYDRA.

AND BILL OF AIM! Don't forget 'im.

Don't forget the Grasshopper either!

But sadly, Deadpool's movie will probably be Rated R. (At least if done right) so that means probably no toyline for just him. We can dream, and I hope they do make one. But realisticly, all the R movies seem to get skipped for toys cept for Blade back in the day with ToyBiz.

This is a good point. And since Deadpool is being produced by FOX there is potential for the movie to be Rated R. Only Marvel movies done within Marvel studios themselves won't be Rated R, however, outside studios can very well make a Rated R movie should they desire. See the following for reference: Marvel Movies Won't Be R-rated

Quasimodo 02-23-2010 04:58 PM

i sorta doubt deadpool will be r though

trebleshot 02-23-2010 07:52 PM

Well, like Greenskar said, the movie is being co-funded by Marvel and Fox. So there is an outside chance it could be R. And if they want to stay true to Wade's character, R is really the only way to go.

Hasbro might even be able to do a few nods towards the movie in Marvel Universe (fingers crossed that the line lasts that long).

Tarquinius 02-23-2010 08:22 PM

Deadpool I think has its fanbase deep within the comic community but for a movie that isn't good enough. I'm gonna put my money on PG 13 with Fox understanding that more money can be made by allowing younger audience members and merchandising for us collectors.

I really don't see how you market this character to a younger audience without getting some huge frowns. He's a Merc for crying out loud. He's NOT a hero. He's one of the most dangerous and deadly characters in the Marvel Universe mostly because he's insane and that makes him unpredictable, because he can switch sides at any time and make the choice that benefits him the most. At least Wolverine has some moral values. Don't get me wrong, these are all reasons I like the Deadpool character, but...

...I can almost hear Ebert complaining that Marvel has stooped to new lows and insulted our intelligence with this looney toon of a character with no morality and therefore no real reason to cheer for him. Top that off with marketing him to a younger audience is almost like saying, "do drugs kids and you can act just like Deadpool." Obviously I don't buy into this shit, but would media outbursts like this really surprise any of you?

While a Deadpool movie line would be amazing...I just need at least ONE MU Deadpool to satiate my hunger for the moment, but even more importantly I don't want toys to dictate how my favorite characters are portrayed on the silver screen.

I agree. There is a line. We cannot cross it. Plus...Dead Pool isn't all that great...(Getting the fire started). He no Nova...that's for sure (Sparks) He's almost as entertaining as the Pet Avenger, and I love Lockjaw!(Embers..)

I do agree with Greenskar in thinking tat Deadpool is in a league of his own but Crossover movies are NOTORIOUS for not sticking close to the original idea and I think that is because they need a certain amount of appeal for those who don't read comics.

Thats the only reason why I think they won't go crazy with the character.

RenegadeReviews 02-24-2010 06:01 AM

Reynolds has been the engine to keep this project moving, and I really don't see him letting it go to PG-13. Might not sound like something he has power over, but I honestly think that'll be a huge reason it gets the R release it deserves.

trebleshot 02-24-2010 07:16 AM

And as far as appealing to general audiences, I think Ryan has enough pull on his own.

Even if it does get an R, I think the movie and studios will still have to field those media outbursts, because let's face it - most of these talking heads think we're all idiots and can't protect ourselves or be able to distinguish right from wrong and reality from fantasy.

Heresy!!!

;)

Tarquinius 02-24-2010 09:35 AM

I don't mean to interrupt the Deadpool convos but

In the late fall of 09 after Wave 1 hammer was released Hasbro mentioned that they would get around to releasing stands for all the SHIELD Series figures.

Obviously we didn't get anything on that in New York but I don't know if anyone else has heard anything?

Udo Kar 02-24-2010 10:02 AM

Punisher had a small toy line and it was an R rated film, I'm hoping Deadpool gets a strong PG-13 like the last Batman. At least that way the toy line would have the chance to be larger. Completely off topic but has anyone heard about a rating or toyline on Green Lantern?

Watchman Was R rated and they got one too actually

Johnnyakiba 02-24-2010 01:02 PM

True. Well, only time can tell.

I hope that Dead Pool gets a line but I also hope that they "do it right"
