Why did they make Movie Master Faora look like a man? Her neck is thick and short. When you look at photos of Antje Traue in her Faora costume, you can see her long feminine neck, and her jaw is not nearly as wide as the action figure's. Who oversees these operations? Sheesh. Also, Antje's lips are not nearly as pouty as the action figure's.

Are you kidding? That's like telling a Jedi Knight he can no longer say "May the Force be with you".

But as tired as I am of hearing/repeating that answer, I'm also equally tired of the "When I was a kid, I didn't want gimmicks - I wanted articulation!" response to the "for the kids" excuse. Because I'd bet you money you might have wanted it, but not having it never stopped you from playing and pretending anyway. I doubt anyone ever rage-quit playtime because his Superman couldn't bend his knees.

The good ole' it moves nice because it appeals to everyone and is what kids want, I don't understand where they get this logic.

They aren't moving I don't like the lack of articulation, but even without it, but the problem is that it's not helping them sell any either.

So whatever their doing isn't working in both ways even thought they say it is.

In the long run they would have the same results with more expensive figures that didn't sell as they would with cheaper figures that don't sell.

Not really. Let's assume that they have a line that flopped at retail, regardless of articulation/scale. If the figures were cheaper to make (fewer PoA + smaller scale = lower R&D costs + lower materials cost), they would have spent far less money up front and therefore had less losses in the end compared to a more expensive line.

Not if they just made fewer lines though. Take for example, the Man Of Steel line. Here they are making these stretchy gimmick figures, basic figures at Big Lots, a regular 4" line, and the 6" Movie Masters line. If they just made the Movie Masters line, that's less money overall since they minimized toylines to make.

I was reading MWCtoys.com's review of the MOS Movie Masters and he said that despite the cheaper figures being available, the Movie Masters are actually better toys overall for kids. I agree.

I never rage-quit but I was always disappointed that my Ninja Turtles could never pose the way I wanted.

Plus I've never seen kids getting 3.75/4" figures. Even as a kid I think the only ones I ever got were as presents from relatives. I always wanted 5"-up - the bigger, the better.

Sure, if Mattel limited themselves to only one line for MoS, then if it failed, it would cost them far less than the multiple lines they're doing now. But that's not what I was getting at with my previous post.

They would have put far less money into the front end (R&D, materials, etc) with a cheaper line, therefore losing less in the long run if the line ultimately fails at retail. If it succeeds in spite of the lower cost, then hey, more money for Mattel.

But you still played with them and let your imagination fill in the blanks, right? They were still a lot of fun to me, even if they couldn't do everything they did in the show or comics.

And I usually see just the opposite. Even still, one or two examples don't define retail trends in any given market - way too small of a sample size.

Actually, they accidentally made part of my question into their response. I would GLADLY pay 60 to 80 for a masterpiece, cartoon accurate He-Man (reddish-blonde bowl-cut hair, angular jaw, and cartoon proportions) and Skeletor (yellow skull in a black void in cowl, purple boots instead of demon feet, etc).

While I do like the MOTUC toys, they are still too close to the toyline and not close enough to the animation.

In all my visits to the toy aisles and/or TRU, I've never once seen a kid pick out anything at all. One time I saw 2 brothers freaking out over some wrestling toys, and another time I saw a little kid crying "I wanna see the red robot!" when his mom wheeled him away from a RotF Leader Optimus Prime end-cap.
As for my own toys picks as a kid, I only remember ever picking out 2 things. One Christmas, I picked out a huge Buzz Lightyear, then the next day, I exchanged it for a T-rex from Jurassic Park 2. All the rest of my toys as a kid just "appeared" in my possession. It wasn't until I started making my own money that I really started to pick out my own toys.

Really? That's sad. I picked out all my toys as a kid. I knew which ones I had, which I didn't, and also knew which characters I wanted more than others.

Why does it seem as if Mattel isn't doing a Fan Choice Character with any lines? It kinda seems as if Collector's Input is being ignored we are paying for them it seems only fair to allow to include 1 fan choice a year

Of course, their response will be, "Maybe in a movie year." After all, that is the ONLY reason they even bothered with the Voltron license in the first place.

I think there is a better chance for us seeing Golion Figuarts before we see anything more of Voltron from Mattel.

Question: Why was Batzarro chosen as a Club figure? Does mattel listen to the collector base aside from Oversized Club figures? I haven't heard anyone say they must Have Batzarro

Is there any way Mattel can give us the number required for the Subscriptions to go through and what would be required for tier 2 it might make it easier for us to decide weather we want to join or not.
