I'm glad that people like this, but me personally, I HATE pre-posed articulated figures. The body NEEDED to be neutral to be an action figure. That's the fun of it being an action figure, you get to pose it yourself, not try to "work around" the pre-posed chest so you only get 1-2 poses that look right.

Todd SHOULD have just sold out to Yamaguchi or something and then we'd possibly get a highly poseable Spawn figure.

I think they will update soon with some clarification, lots of questions in the comments over there. Mainly, does the 3 pack come with all 5 heads. Some confusion about that. Possible right now that 2 of the 3 in the 3 pack option come with new heads, but not the heads they come with as singles. Which would stink.

If you have McFarlane's email, please send him your idea for the added articulation. Especially adding the torso cut and using a ball joint in the torso like they did for the recent Superman figure they released. I alrdy pledged but would love to see them improve the figure with your suggestions.

I agree 100%

Robogeek28 04-09-2020 10:50 AM

Imagine how much this thing would explode if he were to add the rest of the original first wave figures to the KS...

Yamaguchi Spawn, even if I don’t have interest in the characters, I can imagine that being pretty darn good!

Although is there is no ball joint, then the torso is probably the least articulated part of this figure.

I'm not talking about the torso being articulated or not. Even if they add a diaphragm joint, the render clearly shows that it's the same sculpt with a twisted pre-posed torso (evidence by one pectoral being higher than the other). It is going to look weird.

$836,375 pledged of $100,000 goal.

What. The. Fuck.

I'd have to say that will all the dough Todd's raking in on this Kickstarter that he can more than afford to update his articulation scheme.

I never knew there were so many Spawn fans!

Zeorn 04-09-2020 03:52 PM

With R-rated comic book movies making money now and the popularity of this Spawn kickstarter, he should be able to leverage that into a movie deal.

adugifever 04-09-2020 06:13 PM

McFarlane should try the Mythic Legions route with getting orders. People just have to wait for it.

If this be really the case,
it's just a upgrade version of color top series, not a good action figure.

Gmonkey2k 04-10-2020 06:43 AM

So, wait. The only way to get the masked head is to get the Classic version? :/

Comedian 04-10-2020 08:40 AM

I don’t think even Todd knew how starved collectors are for his updated product. But I did. We are legion, and we are many.

I know right? I'm blown away at how many people backed this so quickly. After seeing everyone clamor for the MK 11 Spawn I thought "huh, ok, there are more of us Spawn fans out there than I thought" and this Kickstarter just proves that. Legion indeed, will probably hit $1 million today, crazy.

Alucard1138 04-10-2020 01:11 PM

Todd just released an update, if you backed the 3 pack trilogy you get all 5 heads, that ought to clear up that confusion. And an alternate set of hands. Free stretch goals, that's pretty cool. And more stretch goals to come.

warmachine6 04-10-2020 01:20 PM

I'm somewhat tempted

Robogeek28 04-10-2020 01:24 PM

It'll be downright criminal if that screaming head isn't released in color.

JCarterVA 04-10-2020 01:51 PM

It just hit $1,000,000. I have no interest in Spawn but I think it is a great way to try something different.

Well I'm still confused, because I thought we were ALREADY getting all 5 heads by purchasing all 3 figures. If that wasn't originally the case, then the wording of the offer seemed vaguely deceptive and I would have been pissed if I ended up not getting all 5 heads since I backed the full trilogy set.

And yeah, I hope one of the additional stretch goals is a painted version of that screaming head.

Comedian 04-10-2020 02:38 PM

Other toy companies are taking notice. Adult collectibles at retail is all but dead, with the virus even more are heading to online sales. this direct to consumer model will open up a great deal of new exciting ventures. Just wait. It may take a year or so, but mark my words, just wait and see.

Yeah, but at a premium price. It was already hard enough to accept Super 7 jacking their $35 price up to $45 for their newer figures, and with this Spawn precedent we'll end up expecting to pay $50+ for a figure of this quality from now on.

Yup. We will finally get what we want, but it comes at a price. Even with the huge interest in this, these will dwarf retail figure totals. That must be added in to the cost. Look at the star wars barge, the high sales gave a tooling budget for a new skiff at a great price and a playset and a 3-pack and repacks for jabbas palace. Motuc sales paved the way for more beasts and playsets. We are going to get great things, but they will have a higher cost. Honestly it’s this or nothing. I prefer this.

You do not have much experience in Collecting, right?

The Grey Pictures of Bodies, or Heads ARE PROTOTYPE ONLY.

Prototype Phase means EVERYTHING IS GREY WHEN SHOWN,
and will ALWAYS be in Full Color on Release.

Some need to Relax. Stretch Goal or not, everything will
be in Full Color on Release, these are just early
Grey Prototype Renders created with Graphic Program.
Everything will be fine on Release.

Also, i expect Todd to add some more Hands, that can
actually HOLD the Weapons. Because i could Imagine
it will be difficult with the Open Palm Hands he has on these Pictures.

Also about the Heads; i think the 3 Pack contains them
all. All Figures ARE MASKED and the Unmasked Heads
like Al Simmons and Hamburger are Bonus.

It was ALWAYS like that with Spawn Figures in the Past:
The normal Version was Masked, while an Unmasked Face Version was the more Expensive one, usually hard to get and very Rare.
