Sweet mastermold head. So glad to be getting this.

redfox 07-11-2020 05:15 PM

Nice! Looking forward to the next tier reveal!

I think you might be right... damn it. Ironically that Master Mold alt head might also prevent people from buying multiples... now they have the perfect excuse just to buy one of them instead of being compelled to army build them as Sentinels.

Oh I think despite the initial reaction of some posters in this thread trying to say they dropped the ball, Hasbro knew exactly what they were doing. The only thing that surprised me was that it didn't even take 24 hours to get the first 6000, and that it's on pace to easily crack the 8000 by the end of tomorrow.

Depends on the preferred scale, the MU Sentinel is too small in many peoples eyes to go with 6in Legends and may still will want multiples of these for an army (and others may hold out for a better, in-scale Master Mold to go with it...even though that would be as big as an armchair and cost around the price of a Lay-Z-Boy, some X-Men nut would still buy one).

Sniper1 07-11-2020 09:25 PM

Is it possible to have buyers remorse before you buy something? Really want this but it seems like it should be closer to $250.00; having said that I am still very tempted to get one.

Dr Kain 07-11-2020 09:26 PM

Jesus, I am truly amazed that people are able to afford this guy in our current economy, I really am.

Now I'm wondering, do I get just one to have it as Mastermold and have the 3 Amazon Sentinels as the main army, or do I attempt to sell more stuff so I can get 2-3 to just have be Sentinels? Of course, this is all theoretical but my wife tells me to just go ahead and order one. I told her I've got a month to decide and see what our finances are then.

To be honest, I'm totally confused on what the scale of the Sentinels should be. Sometimes people seem to go up to their thighs, other times Colossus only goes to the top of their boots. Sometimes Wolverine takes an arm off and looks as long as its arm, othertimes the Sentinel grabs him and his fist covers nearly his entire body.

JAG2045 07-12-2020 02:49 AM

Anyone else think a potential tier could be a Wolverine skeleton like DOFP?

Now see, I was only joking about about Hasbro looking for ways to insert a Wolverine, since they seem to do so everywhere they can.

That would be kinda cool, though.

Thor Laserpunch 07-12-2020 05:57 AM

Gimme this set of legs so my disembodied Master Mold heads have something to do.

Well they started out smaller for sure back at their debut, but became much larger over the years, so I don't think there has to be a right answer and can be left up to your interpretation, especially in regards to having action figures and displaying them.

Personally, like most things X-Men I defer to the 90's cartoon, and in "Night of the Sentinels" they were pretty big and match the depicted scale of this new figure best. But I'm also in the camp of not having the time, space, or money to army build a $350 figure, so if I get one he'll either be a standalone Sentinel or will be the Master Mold leader to the couple of MU Sentinels I already have.

webz 07-12-2020 07:04 AM

Scale for sentinels has always been all over the place in the comics, media, and games. Like juggernaut, Sabretooth, venom, Hulk, etc.

I like the idea of many different sizes. Small for troops/infiltration and large for capture & containment. Hopefully for those getting this Hasbro has the option for more Bastion/mini sentinels. Really good for x-men arcade style sentinel troops.

Edit... just finished watching several episodes of the 1990’s cartoon, sentinels went from 12ft to 50ft and back in a single episode, so I think scale is out the window. Lol

Archangel 07-12-2020 10:53 AM

7,900....start the countdown to 8k

Super Joe 07-12-2020 11:19 AM

Mastermold's gonna look HUGELY AWESOME next to this smaller potentially new Marvel 3.75 inch toyline! Presently being considered by 2 toy makers,

7,950. Really want to know what the next tier add-on is. I am waiting on my purchase though. The original offering was a bit high for what we got. With Master Mold it's a bit more tempting. Frankly, having one tentacle and no blast effects is keeping me from ordering. Maybe tier 2 or 3 will help with that.

redfox 07-12-2020 12:31 PM

7,990!!!

I was thinking about this actually lol... would Galactus be the size of an elephant in true 6in scale? Or even a building?

IMO, Hasbro dropped the ball big time on something that coulda made em a crap load more $$ had they done this Sentinel in 16' scale & put a $79.99 price tag on it & sold it at retail. Take the bells & whistles off, just include an alternate fist plus capture cables & I woulda bought 6-9 of these. Then people who own the other 2 Sentinels coulda had 3 different in scale Sentinels to display as a triad or with the price point being way more affordable, people woulda army built this at minimum with 3. The Sentinel is one of the most popular & well known X-Men related villians in history & Hasbro goes & does a figure that is unaffordable to the majority of us whom have debt/bills to pay & many whom may be unemployed right now due to the pandemic. Not smart Hasbro, not smart at all imo.

This is why I have been driving the same car since high school... so I can put down $2k to buy 5 of these bad boys

redfox 07-12-2020 12:48 PM

8,000 tier unlocked: additional battle-damaged head and hand

On to 9,000!!

Bull shit... these are made to order. Retail doesnt have the shelving space for these. That is why they are using crowdfunding.

With the huge success of this Sentinel, maybe next year they should do a huge Galactus as their next Marvel Haslab. Obviously it would have to still be underscaled compared to his size in the comics, but I'd love to get a 30+ inch Galactus figure to pose with the Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer.

Clearly he was just trolling people here with his false claims of finding the barge at retail. :)

I had photographic evidence but an operative with t-shades and a black 3-piece fried my phone with an EMP device to stop the truth getting out.

Whovian2018 07-12-2020 01:04 PM

Meh... battle damaged head and hand are nice, but still not what will make me pull the trigger. At this rate, we should see the final tier unlock either by tonight or at least by tomorrow night.

Seems like the battle damage stuff would have been a better tier one and the Master Mold head a better tier two. Either way, clearly Hasbro made this with the intention of people army building a $350 26 inch figure. Part of me wants to do just that and part of thinks it's a waste to get just one. Lucky I still have at least almost a month and a half to mull it over still.

I wonder... if/when this hits 10,000 and beyond, will Hasbro pull a McFarlene and start adding additional tiers?

Edit: Just releasized, a battle damaged head and hand would make a great display piece all by itself... hmm....

ShabbyBlue 07-12-2020 01:10 PM

With this easily reaching 8000 in just 2 days and probably on its way to 9000 in the next couple days, they should consider adding another 2 or 3 tiers to really incentivize it further for the remaining 40 days. At the very least, we definitely need a 2nd tentacle and blast effects as others have suggested, but I wonder what else they could add to really sweeten the deal after that.
