Give it time. I'm sure there are a lot of CEOs out there who hate Scorpio due to his great health coverage, free dental plans, 3 weeks paid vacation, and the stock plans he offers employees.

these are in a 7-inch scale, the Playmates figures were in a 5-inch scale

people are starting to receive wave 1 although the very conspicuous absence of Moe's apron is getting people annoyed. which is understandable since a) kinda a big part of Moe's look and b) there was never any indication that we wouldn't get an apron.

hoping that gets fixed as asap as possible!

deecee4 01-25-2023 09:28 AM

I foresee another booster pack getting sent out lol.

Momaw Nadon 01-26-2023 10:33 AM

judging from some reviews of some of their other, non-Simpsons product, Super7 might need to get their act together soon. can't blame people for having high expectations on figures that cost $55 or more.

regardless, I still don't think that a line of Simpsons figures needs to be in the 7-inch scale and super-articulated. if this line fails, NECA or another company could easily make a line of 5-inch, limited articulation figures at a lower cost which could make any deep-cut characters/episode-specific outfits more attractive.

Momaw Nadon 01-26-2023 10:41 AM

but I can't imagine the marketplace can support the kind of breadth we had with Playmates (over 200 figures iirc) and if I were in charge of a Simpsons figure line, I would have that at the front of my mind at all times.

no use having a Poochie without Itchy and Scratchy, no use having a Robot Itchy and Scratchy without Professor Frink, etc.

These arent super articulated at all tho. If they were, that at least could justify the price to some extent.

I'd say they're SA relative to the Playmates stuff. obviously they are not SA compared to your average superhero figure.

I'm just spitballing about what sacrifices would be needed to get good-quality Simpsons figures that are not $55. or if they are $55, then they better at least come with a damn apron for Moe!

Sean C 01-26-2023 07:15 PM

When you go too much deep cut first, you risk alienating the casual fan/buyer.

looking at the lineups for the next two series, Super7 seems to have realized this too.

going back to my ideal Simpsons toy line: I would even take a line in the 3.75in scale if it meant a better chance at getting some diorama pieces. that was one of the best parts of the Playmates line but duplicating it in this economy would be tough.

Super7 is doing ReActions for Simpsons also, but they're even deeper cuts so far lol

Dr Kain 01-27-2023 10:02 AM

I wish Lego would do more Simpsons stuff. There are so many buildings they could be doing on top of more character packs.

oh yeah, forgot about those. probably 'cause at $20 they're such a lousy value.

nevertheless....

Momaw Nadon 02-13-2023 12:04 PM

photos are up for wave 4! includes King-Size Homer, Devil Flanders, Radioactive Man, and Drederick Tatum

... These lineups make no sense to me. There's already a Homer variant, the Devil Flanders should've been in a wave with Donut-head Homer, and Drederick Tatum??? We still haven't gotten a standard version of any of the core Simpsons family, and have they even addressed Moe's missing apron?

Sean C 02-13-2023 03:39 PM

Still not big on making characters that interact, even with characters from previous waves.

yeah, if you email Super7, this is their response

Hello,
We apologize for the missing apron that should have came with our Moe Ultimates! Figure. This seems to have affected a large number of units.
We are expecting to receive replacement aprons at the end of February. We will be shipping these to all customers free of charge.

If you did not purchase directly from us, please send us a proof of purchase and your shipping address and we will add you to our shipment list.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Thank you for your patience and support.

Momaw Nadon 02-13-2023 04:45 PM

also even if you are somebody who is digging the obscure character selections, there is still a risk that such a strategy will mean a premature death for this Simpsons line.

Dr Kain 02-13-2023 04:58 PM

So how many accessories are they going to cut after they get people to pay for them?

Black Arbor 02-14-2023 11:30 AM

Well I'm glad they at least addressed Moe's missing apron, but the fact that they do such odd one-off variants, and don't even include arguably neccessary accessories (why doesn't Devil Flanders come with the soul donut???) really worries me. If they did variants like "Sunday Best" Lisa instead of astronaut Homer, you'd get a lot more use from the figures. I get that they choose dynamic outfits, but c'mon! At least do variants of the main cast before double dipping! How about:

Astronaut Homer
Bartman Bart
'Floreda" Lisa
Police officer Marge (with Maggie pack-in!)

That way you can at least have the whole family if the line goes belly-up early!

Momaw Nadon 02-14-2023 01:52 PM

and I know I said this before but if I were making a Simpsons toy line and wanted to jump right in with a bunch of obscure choices, I would produce them in scale with the Playmates figures. seems like something that would expand their appeal

as a Simpsons fan I'm not rooting for this line to fail but I have a hard time imagining it will last long enough to see standard Homer, standard Bart, standard Flanders, Marge, Lisa, Grampa, Skinner, Milhouse, etc. and we'd want Ultimate versions of those, right?

If that were the case then I would not be getting any of these as a lot (I think all so far) of these characters were done in the Playmates line already.
