A couple of the Origins vehicles work fine for Masterverse. Mattel seemed to purposely make the Wind Raider oversized to fit them. The leaked photo from before it was released showed Revelation Savage He-Man sitting happily in it even though he hadn't been officially revealed either. lol. So aye, it seemed like someone at the company had the intention that Origins vehicles could be used for both scales of MotU figures. Stridor works really well too especially with Masterverse Fisto sat in there. But the Land Shark is a bit of a squeeze and the recent Roton is very disappointing being so tiny that even Origins figures look a bit oversized in it too. Wish they could have reused the Classics Roton mold. It's huge. lol. Also aye I far prefer the Masterverse proportions and aesthetics. So does my kid. We have some Origins but he thinks they look goofy and stumpy. Anyways the Origins vehicles have often seen some beefy price reductions especialy on Amazon. They near enough give the Land Shark away for little more than a tenner. Stridor has been £15 though is currently about £23. The Wind Raider is about £24.

Oh really? I guess that makes sense, origins are 5.5”” right? I haven’t looked too closely at the origins vehicles, is there not a notable difference in quality between an origins vehicle with a Masterverse figure? I mean I appreciate the look and style origins is going for, but they do just look like old toys, don’t the vehicles look similar?

Here's some pics so you can decide for yourself. I nabbed the Masterverse pics off my best mate's insta. lol.
You see Man-At-Arms looks pretty comfortable in the Origins WR
https://imgur.com/Pz1n4oZ.jpg
It fits him a lot better the thing comically undersized vintage wind raider fit the vintage figures so the Origins Raider is a HUGE upgrade over the original
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EUrPubXU8AI1z66.jpg

Fisto out for a ride in Stridor whose legs have nice articulation and he also includes somethings not in this photo such as several blast effects for his guns, a nice stand, an alternate helm.
https://imgur.com/He1M2qb.jpg
Vintage He-Man riding vintage Stridor, whose legs have barely any articulation at all
https://www.toypolloi.com/media/com_...strider_02.jpg

Most of the vehicles seen in Revelation cartoon are very similar to the traditional ones with some minor differences, like the Sky-Sleds and War-Sleds now look more different to each other (and both have seats now so the pilot can rest their butts, lol). The Wind Raider is strangely enough one of the few vehicles to not turn up in that cartoon despite it being probably the most iconic vehicle in the 80s cartoon. But aye, I think the above pics show the Origins Raider goes well with Masterverse Man-At-Arms

Not all the Origins figures are overly accurate to the vintage toys. Man-E-Faces for example looks to have some influence from his Classics toy regarding where those upper tubes on his chest go into his helmet.

And here's an extra photo I just found on my mate's insta that made me chuckle. Fist/hoof bump. lol. Oh and aye it shows the other things Stridor comes with. That reminds me I need to order me a Fisto. :)

Man at Arms does look comfy in that Wind Raider, and I may now have to get one, but I dunno, I think you can tell they are from separate toy lines, or maybe it’s just a subconscious thing because I know they are from different lines, either way, I wouldn’t be mad if there were some actual Masterverse vehicles released.

Sky Sleds would be a nice start. I would really like to see a Masterverse scale version of the one Beast Man came with. The Wind Raider or Battle Ram would be the next logical steps after that. I mean we did get a few vehicles with Classics.

I thought about using Origins vehicles for Masterverse, but they do not scale well enough for my tastes, and their detailing doesn't quite do it for me. If I wanted to do any photo-work, I think the Classics vehicles would be a better substitute.

EternianJerkian 08-04-2022 10:08 AM

Well they work just fine for the time-being.:) Who knows if we'll ever see actual Masterverse vehicles. If they do then the Origins ones can be sold off. And Classics ones are way too costly. And they didn't do them all. I don't think they did the Land Shark did they? Not sure.

Seeing some of the comments about people missing out on Classics does make me feel better that I was able to get in on the line at the start.

The Landshark wouldn't be a huge commitment for Masterverse. It wasn't that big. Also the Road Ripper would be a nice candidate. Actually, what I would buy is a Masterverse take on the Netflix He-Man motorcycle version. If it has decent detailing, I'd be in for that. Hey, something Origins and Classics never did, the Attak Trak.

lol I can't see that happening anytime soon with all the Origins Landsharks shelfwarming even with huge discounts on. Like I said some posts ago, Amazon UK been trying to give those away for just over £10 when the RRP is like £33. Mattel probably see that as not worth putting more money into making a Masterverse Landshark. I had hoped Origins Landshark would be big enough for Revelation since that vehicle does appear in the first episode. But it's too much of a squeeze. The Roton is the most disappointing one for sure as again that was used in Revelation and had Trap Jaw riding it until Man-At-Arms jumps down and belts him right out of it. lol. But aye, no way even a regular Revelation figure's fitting well in it, never mind Trap Jaw and his huge knee pads. lol

aye while I'm here. Some reference. The Land shark in Revelation was this size. You can see Clawful's head doesn't go higher than the top of the vehicle.

Masterverse figure in the Origins shark. Just about fits, but Spikor's head is clearly way about the top, and also my mate who took this pic said it took a lot of fiddling to squeeze Spikor's legs in there.

That's disappointing. The Battle Ram might have a better chance. Slightly smaller, and more iconic. The Roton for Classics was a big boy. I thought that and the Point Dread were pretty much as big as they were willing to go. If they were ballsy, I'd go for a Thundertank size take on Filmation Attak Trak... But again, a regular Attak Trak would be nice too.

That filmation attak trak is weird. Like, you can tell it wasn't a Mattel design. It has none of the stylings of the vehicles directly based on their toy counterpart. Not even any animal theme. It's just a huge box with those big floppy wheel tread things. lol.

Toy Attak Trak shares some styling of the Battle Ram and Sky Sled

Filmation Attak Trak? Big box that just kept the wheel type. lol.
https://battleramblog.com/wp-content...4/AT-Film1.jpg

Turns out though one episode did have a more toy accurate version called the Small Trak. Which came out the back of the boxy Trak.
https://battleramblog.com/wp-content...ttak-traks.jpg

A model kit came out that was based on the concept art of the original toy including things cut from the final toy like the canopy and the mouth.

I have a soft spot for Filmation Attak Trak as it was pretty much a character in the show. The one thing that irked me about Super7 Re-Action figures, perfect opportunity to do an affordable Filmation Attak Trak. I liked how the Classics Roton came with a cockpit cage so you could go for a more model look if you wanted. Especially since they put out figures based on the pilots for the various models.

Aye the Origins Roton has the cage too. Shame the whole toy is so damn small. lol.

Cheers for the bios that aren't on our UK / European boxes. :)

My best mate just got his New Eternia Beast Man. Seems cool. Mine should arrive soon.

As you probably know I’m in the U.K. like you, I can’t remember all of them, but my Revelations Beast Man and He-man have the bios but my Skeletor doesn’t, I thought at the time maybe it was just a mistake, I didn’t realise they were actually not putting on the bios for us, which just seems weird. That NE Beast Man is potentially the best Beast Man figure ever, I haven’t pre ordered one myself, but it’s absolutely on my list.

Aye well from what I understand, the bios get removed from our boxes because they'd need to be in multiple languages for the european market. So it's easier to just not have any bio than have it all taking up more space covering up the nice artwork. If you get one with a bio on it then you've got one the retailer got from the States. Some retailers like Kapow even state 'Import' as shown on their Evil-Lyn listing here https://www.kapowtoys.co.uk/product/...on-figure.html

Btw NE Beast Man is available on Amazon UK, right now. Was about £30 but gone up to £32.24 currently. That's where me and my mate ordered from. His turned up yesterday. And in case you wondering, no bio, because it's a european release. lol At least we can look those up online and know the story behind the New Eternia characters. On the Revelation one it's not too bad since we have a whole cartoon that explains who they are but with NE that lil bit of bio is all there is to give these versions a bit of backstory.

Yeah that’s true, the NE ones will be a mystery to us unless we look it up online, seems a bit shitty by Mattel if I’m honest, how many thousands of these figs are they gonna sell in Europe, their not gonna cater to any of us at all? The ones I have with bios I got from Forbidden Planet, they had a sale on wave 1 and 2 and were selling them for £10 each, they still have some characters left if you’re missing any and fancy picking some up cheaper than usual. Thanks for the info on Beast Man, I always shop around for the cheapest price, try to maximise my collecting power as much as possible.

Aye, me and my kid already had all the ones that FP had for a tenner each but I did pick up another He-Man anyways just for the hell of it (he stands on a shelf in my garage lol). The ones I do need though are still £25.99 and £37.99 for the deluxes trap jaw and tri-klops Can't believe my mate got both of those Deluxes for about £22 each months ago due to some pre-order pricing error on an online store. Lucky git. lol

The only deluxe I have is Battle Cat, I got him relatively cheap, I’m holding out on Tri-klops and Trapjaw and hoping they will reduce in price, I think they are a little expensive and honestly I don’t think either of those two warranted a deluxe figure, but that’s only my opinion, I’m sure there are some that are thrilled they were deluxe. I don’t know if you’re interested in the Skelegod deluxe figure, but that’s currently £20 over at Comics and Cocktails.

Oh we have Battle Cat, and aye we got Skelegod when he was £20 last year too. It's one of my kid's most played with toys. We definitely need Trike and Trappy and my kid wants to recreate some of the Motherboard scenes again so we glad they come with all the elaborate multi-layered costuming for that. lol. He was trying to make the Motherboard bird statue thing out of lego and my best mate lent us his figures for a week but aye we need our own. lol.

I did think Revelations was alright, but I’m not overly fussed about getting figs Revelations specific, I’ve been collecting them so far, but really it’s because it’s close to my minds eye interpretation of these characters, except Merman, he needs armour, but I appreciate people like your son want Revelations stuff, so fair enough. For me the ultimate interpretation of MOTU was He-Man 200X, I love everything about that show, the designs, the character back stories, Eternia itself, and the lore or added, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I really hope Masterverse gets on He-Man 200X

Aye, was never fond of 200X myself and I tried introducing it to my kid last year when he wanted more MotU content but he wasn't big on it either and kept pointing out eeeeevery bloody thing he didn't like it (Teela's ridiculously long ponytail was a big issue with my extremely practical-minded child. lol). And me and my best mate have a general loathing of the Keldor thing and are both thankful that Revelation went with the early mini-comics and the filmation cartoon thing of 'demon from another dimension' rather than 'dodgy old uncle kelds'. Christ that pre-skelly look is so bloody lame with his long hair and crap facial hair lol. Anyways aye Masterverse are bound to get to it soon enough. Origins has got He-Man and Skeletor from there in it's latest wave. And aye 200X could use some decent toys. The original ones were shite. Barely articulated, weirdly proportioned ugly crap. And even He-Man is in a fixed hunched over pose like he's got major back problems and unable to lift that huge, over-designed sword of his. They did them in Classics fine but aye the usual Classics issues there such as availibity and costs. So aye, I hope Masterverse gets to that and provides for you and other 200X people. Even though some of them have been huge jerks. My mate's had to block several 200X fans posting crap (including obscene sick crap and bigoted stuff) on his instagram posts of his Revelation figures.

And aye Mer-Man stopped wearing his armour after he went back to the sea after Skelly died, and they wanted him to have more of a swimmer look and figured armour's a lil weighty for swimming in. And I really like the clean look and his scars. A more 'classic' armoured look is shown in episode 2 during the flashback. And the model sheets show the two different outfits he has. Oddly his leg armour becomes slightly bulkier in the timeskip look. Loses his chest armour but has to protect his knees! lol My mate did have his Mer-Man wear Faker's orange skelly armour for a while. Looked ok. lol

200X wasn’t perfect, yes Keldor’s design was just pure sleaze bag, and the Uncle thing was odd because it barely had any impact on the show and was hardly mentioned, season 2 was better with the Snake Men. Dare I say it is far more watchable than 80’s He-Man, I loved that show as a kid, but it’s hard to watch today, but the same goes with all the 80’s toons I loved. I’m hoping we get classic look MerMan like they did with Teela, Mattel are likely going to wanna milk this for all it’s worth so it may happen.

Nice one on getting Beast Man, I don’t think I’m gonna wait around on him, it’s hard to tell which are gonna sell out and which will peg warm, but I think that Beast Man might be a popular figure
