With the Wolverine:Origins-comic subline, you have all new molds for comic-based appearances.

Ah, you're talking 'guys at Hasbro working with one another and using each other's tooling'. I was talking 'toss them together and play with all of them regardless of the packaging they came in'.

I'm confused as to why theres a diference in hip articulation style between these and the MU figures. Maybe these were initially designed at a different scale and then were shrunk?

Zalis 01-11-2009 06:03 PM

Aside from Maverick and Deadpool, I'll probably be passing on most of these.

Doubt it, I think it is just there to test the waters and see if it is successful enough to use for Marvel Universe and other lines, as it brings them one step closer to matching articulation on bigger figures like ML.

AdrienVeidt 01-11-2009 08:32 PM

Yeah, since it's a limited line for the movie, they're more willing to throw ideas at the wall to see what sticks.

Beast 01-18-2009 02:25 PM

Here's a sneak peak at comic based figures of Blob and Sabretooth (Jim Lee Costume) from the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine "Comic Series" figure line. Props to Mr Fiend from Fwoosh for the pic.

I really like Blob. Though it doesn't look like he has much articulation. Of course, it's hard to articulate fat characters so I don't mind.

Sabretooth looks great though. I'm glad they did the more well known costume for him, in addition to the modern costume we've already seen.

scarecrow 01-18-2009 02:40 PM

Ah... The Blob looks horrific... As he should.

DESTRO 01-18-2009 02:46 PM

The Blob looks like a pass but Sabretooth looks awesome.

Shin Densetsu 01-18-2009 03:39 PM

I have a feeling that more articulation will be put into Blob, but if none is added, I won't be buying that.

Sabretooth however, HELL YEAH! That looks so much better than the ML version too(I didn't like the redundant foot/toe joint and the huge shoulders). This one is excellent, I dig the way the hair is sculpted too.

DESTRO 01-18-2009 04:30 PM

Wolverine Motorcycle and the Role Play Claw

X-Men Origins Wolverine Cruiser

Beast 01-18-2009 04:38 PM

Both of those are easy passes for me.

Cool for the kiddies though.

Shin Densetsu 01-18-2009 05:22 PM

Heck yea, I'm getting the Tiger Stripe and Brown Costume Wolvy figures, not sure on the street clothes Logan.

Are those for the Wolverine movie line or Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon line?

DESTRO 01-18-2009 06:30 PM

Comic Book Series and I cant wait to get my classic Tiger Stripe Wolverine!

Same here! That and the brown costume are my all time favorites!

Kluster Bombs 01-18-2009 07:51 PM

I can't wait to get them all.

Flint 01-18-2009 08:33 PM

Blob rules! How do you not love a fat guy like that?

Alyosha 01-18-2009 09:10 PM

Looks like ol' Blobbo-butt has body slam action given the limited articulation and the pre-pose of his hands. I can live with it, if that's the reason for the limited posability. 'Tooth looks great, as I always liked the Jim Lee design.

The package samples of Logan and tiger-stripe Wolvie look better as well.

Beast 01-18-2009 09:16 PM

One thing is really bugging me though.

The fact that they're "Comic Series" figures, but that Wolverine's claws are coming from between the fingers instead of from the back of the hand.

It may make me pass on most of the Wolverine figures. Which is annoying.

Cavbeast 01-18-2009 09:21 PM

Faboo, I'm digging these figures. And I may have overlooked that long list of Wolverine figures but we need a House of M Wolverine. That Stormtrooper/honor guard outfit was pretty sharp.

EFC 01-19-2009 04:15 AM

not too bad of a line, everyone needs a deadpool in there collection though!!!

Chaos Muffin 01-19-2009 09:49 AM

Sweet, even though I feel like I already own them. I see they're still sticking the claws on Wolverine's hands

It's 2009 already, can't we get some pop out claws? It's not as fun when they're always out

The Deadpool's cool, we can always use more of those figs.

At 3-3/4" scale that might kill elbow and wrist articulation. The better alternative would be swappable hands.

knownasx 01-21-2009 06:50 AM

want them all

Steel 01-21-2009 08:35 AM

My freind just found an Iron Man..the hunt is on....
