Was Playmates not at NYCC this year?

RichardC 10-14-2014 04:35 AM

I don't think so. Just the show

TheLongestDay 10-14-2014 11:19 AM

Do people still need the Wave 1 nick turtles? I found a shop here that has em for £4.99 (they are usually £9.99)

snake5289 10-14-2014 12:41 PM

Found the Mirage Comic Turtles today (but still no Slash *ugh*) and walked away with Mikey but gave him some sais when I got home. The face seemed more like Raph than Mikey imo.

Is Slash the turquoise turtle with the small head? If so, I see him everywhere but no Mirage turtles.

snake5289 10-14-2014 03:56 PM

Yup with a black bandanna and uses a mace. I'm not worried about finding him because I've seen all the TMNT figures so far (that are out) but it's a slow going process around these parts.

decepticon_mark 10-14-2014 04:35 PM

Was seeing Slash and a lot of others but lately my area has been drying up and I see very little these days. Hoping this is just the calm before the Xmas stocking begins.

RichardC 10-17-2014 12:57 AM

I'm looking for the battle shell turtles if anyone can help along with newtralizer

chaosorc 10-17-2014 09:49 AM

halshell heroes

Has anyone seen the halfshell heroes fishface and dogpound set. i have been searching but had no luck.

Dr Kain 10-17-2014 02:33 PM

I found the four comic turtles at Target today. I've only opened Ralph and Leo and I have mixed thoughts on them. The sculpts are pretty cool, but I absolutely hate their arms. Why would Playmates sculpt them like that? If anything, they should have given them wrist articulation. Another issue is that I could not find a Ralph or Don with a perfect paint job, so I had to go with the best choices. On the other hand, it is pretty awesome owning comic book versions of the ninja turtles.

snake5289 10-17-2014 02:43 PM

I agree with the wrists. I cut the hands off and glued them back on with the one I've got.

Friday evening appreciation with Newtralizer.

snake5289 10-17-2014 05:13 PM

Nice. I can't remember if I've seen him in a store yet or not.

Unless I find a way to add articulation, I wouldn't do that.

Anyway, that aside, yes, I love these guys:

Found them in one of the Half Shell Heroes cube displays at Wal-Mart. They appeared to be packed in at 2 figures each per cube.

Saw all of the battle shell turtles last night but Newtralizer seems to be the pot o' gold of the Turtle figures at least for now.

Bradsdadg 10-18-2014 04:20 PM

Found a bunch of the Comic Turtles at Walmart again today. Didn't see any Tiger Claw or Robotic Foot Soldiers though. I have a feeling kids are not as into the comic tmnt as much as we as collectors are...If you haven't found the Battle shell figs, an easy way to look for them on the peg is to look at the left side of the package, it's black and labeled as battle shell.

So how posseable are Shredder, Casey, Splinter, the Foot, and that god awful looking child April?

They vary. April is the least articulated with head, shoulders, forearms, and hips. Casey has the most with head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, and knees. The Foot have head, shoulder, elbow turns, waist, and hips. Shredder has head, shoulder, wrist, waist, and hips. Splinter has head, shoulder, elbow turns, waist, and hips though his robe hinders them somewhat.

Dr Kain 10-19-2014 10:11 AM

Shredder does not have posseable knees? Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...

Do the characters in the new show not bend their knees at all?

Depends on which two of the Shredder figures you're looking at. The first version didn't have knees, but had elbows. The second version had knees, but no elbows.
