so i checked for the heck of it at toysrus.com and lo and behold they had them all or the newer wave stuff on the site. all gone of course.

quinten182 08-29-2011 05:38 PM

Not bad.. I should start looking for old playsets like that. Anyone suggest any others?

Was that the dude in England? He had a lot of negative feedback. Looked dodgy as they like to say. If you don't mind, shoot me a link would you?

Thank goodness I didn't start collecting the Thor line, too. IM2 was really the only line I felt was close enough to MU for me to get figures from. The Captain America figures are scaled kind of weird (although I caved in and got the USAgent, Red Guardian and Crossbones) and the Thor line is really tiny. Just another line to have elusive figures that I'd be ripping my hair out to obtain. LOL.

Pros From Dover 08-31-2011 03:03 AM

Yeah, I almost didn't collect the Thor figures for just this very reason. I knew that if they had major characters in later waves, we probably wouldn't see them due to the armies of Thors rotting on the pegs.
I am a huge Iron Man fan, so I had no problem buying a set or case of each wave, since I knew I could use the spares for customs, but I couldn't bring myself to drop 70.00 for the one wave that has Sif on BBTS.

thechris 08-31-2011 03:06 AM

If the Sif figure looked more like her comic book version, I'd probably be more inclined. :)

Exactly. This is not at all the character I remembered from the comics, at least not in the 80s. But then again, really none of the characters look much like their comic namesakes - not even Thor. Why Hasbro elected not to do comic versions I will never know - maybe they thought the line wouldn't be very popular?

DarkestKnight 08-31-2011 02:40 PM

Ok, for all the post Wave 1 stuff, where are people finding what where?

Wave 2: Target
Wave 3:?
Wave 4: TRU?

Deluxe Wave 2:?

Do Boy 08-31-2011 02:44 PM

Found this at target this morning

DarkestKnight 08-31-2011 03:09 PM

Very nice pickup! I actually like the light-up feature since it makes sense and all.

KingLouie731 08-31-2011 03:27 PM

Found that same figure at Walmart about an hour ago, had to pick it up of course

nexxone05 08-31-2011 03:38 PM

I haven't even seen wave 2 or 3 form my local distributors.

shadow024 08-31-2011 04:06 PM

I havent seen wave 2 or 3 either. Hopefully with the DVD release we can see some pickup in the figures so the retailers can order more... I am only hoping...

Reaver Strike 08-31-2011 04:17 PM

I just saw Destroyer at a local drug store. I had to pass at $12-$13.

Jason Abbadon 08-31-2011 04:46 PM

All of wave 2 (Destroyer, Warriors 3) is sitting untouched at my local Target for the past week.

Same here!!! It was actually a miracle that I found this wave at all. I passed on the warriors 3. I just wanted the Destroyer

Reaver Strike 08-31-2011 05:14 PM

My local WM hasn't moved any Thor figures.

joemama13 08-31-2011 06:04 PM

Bald scalper scalped all the destroyers at my target, he made me so angry.
Plus I saw him take them.

bmorr 08-31-2011 06:21 PM

just so you know, its not considered stealing if you nab it out of his hands. He hasn't paid for it yet.

thechris 08-31-2011 08:18 PM

I think of all the Marvel lines Walmart had (here anyway), Thor did the most poorly. Even worse than Green Lantern.

Boba Fettuccini 09-01-2011 02:02 AM

Well, my Destroyer and Sif came from BBTS. Dividing the cost of the order, they cost about $14 apiece, not too bad considering the scalper prices on Sif. Majorly disappointed with the articulation on the destroyer though. Damn lights should have an articulated waist, and I want ball-joint shoulders! Arg! Oh well. he looks good on the shelf!

thechris 09-01-2011 02:39 AM

Yeah, actually Destroyer is the only figure from the Thor line that I purchased mainly because he was the only way to get that figure.
