That Black Widow variant is supposed to be Yelena Belova (blonde hair), not Natasha Romanoff (red hair). They're two different characters who use(d) the Black Widow alias.

trebleshot 04-11-2012 08:23 AM

Right. Yelena replaced Natasha after Natasha defected to the US from Russia. The Black Widow was supposed to be a Russian Super-Spy, which is why Natasha was originally a "villain" (it was the 80's, kids. The Big Red Scare and all that). Then she defected and Mother Russia got Yelena to take her place.

And while Natasha is firmly in the super-hero camp these days, Yelena flips back and forth between good and evil. She's even "died" once already.

bmorr 04-11-2012 08:26 AM

has skrapps mentioned where exactly he got these variants?

Nope. In fact, he specifically said he would not say where he got them:

Lol, sad but true. I have no idea how much I'd pay for these two, especially if I knew exactly how many were produced. (2 sets at the moment).

Ha ha yup exactly! The biggest cult that bring them back is The Hand, so ya Marvel has it easy on bringing them back from the dead.

Dang she's the only female that I don't have in the MU line:P But nice!

Not 100% true. Uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy are still dead.

Just curious who's got the other?

fosterlager 04-12-2012 07:40 AM

These for me are like the translucent Iron Spider-Man: huh, neat, but impulse purchases if they were at mass retail.

Well, tell this to our resident completionists... :)

fosterlager 04-12-2012 08:28 AM

Haha, there's no helping those guys! Except for staying out of their bidding wars!

No seriously, kudos to rarity collectors and best of luck to them!

FrankCastle 04-12-2012 08:41 AM

The clear Iron Spiders are still in some Wal Marts around me. If anyone needs one PM me. I've seen them a bunch but I don't collect MU

Gwen's history keeps getting muddled though, and she's had multiple clones come up. Did you read the story where Gwen was impregnated by Norman Osborn and gave birth to his twins? F'ing garbage to mess with a legacy like that, especially for a mediocre story like that.

It's stated somewhere else in the thread, but I don't know them offhand myself. Have just seen the two names stated by different people here and there.

Wow. I got lucky with that one. It never showed up in my area at all, but someone found one for me and traded when it first came out. It just happened to work out for the best!

Yeah, but they've always made it clear any time she shows up again, it's one of Jackel's clones so the original Gwen is still dead and buried.

Yeah, Sins Past. And I agree completely.

Even Straczynski (who wrote it) said he had hoped that the events of One More Day would retcon the twins out of existance, but since I heard that Gabriel has popped up in the 616 again, I don't think that happened. Of course, even then they were looking at bringing back Gwen and Harry due to all the changes that Mephisto would have done. Glad they scrapped the idea of bringing back Gwen at least, but it was yet another bullshit hack-job idea in a list of many from that event.

Ben and Gwen's deaths - even Harry's - are cornerstones of Peter's character. They define him. I hate to resort to hyperbole, but I feel that taking that away would ruin the character.

I pretty much stopped reading Spider-Man comics after OMD, even though he's my favorite comic book character.

Ugh, I can't even write about OMD without getting bile caught in my throat. So much inane stupidity.

They were brought back briefly in a Deadpool comic, albiet naked, and shortly killed.

But that wasn't canon, and they were all still clones. Great one-shot, though.
