My waitlist Ronin Wolverine arrived today. Purple Catwoman is still "processing" and should ship out next week according to the rep I spoke to at Mezco.

I'm not feeling this costume for John Stewart either. It's like Mezco combined John's main GL costume with his Mosaic costume and the Ryan Reynold's GL costume. I honestly hope the PX Green Lantern will be a variant of John so that we can get him in a different costume. Let Hal and Kyle have their own standard releases rather than making them the PX and MDX variants.

I think when they add these vinyl strips and accents or printed patterns and whatnot to the costumes, it comes off like a lazy way to add texturing. It's unnecessary imho. Same thing with Cyclops, though seeing the classic version makes me appreciate the standard one more. They could just make the whole bodysuit a one piece pajama like Miles Morales and add on the graphics or embellishments that work with the character, instead they seem to go overkill.

That's definitely a possibility, but I'm on the side he will be a regular release or PX. If not Hal or Kyle for the excluse, the other two I can think of would be Guy and Alan. Guy would probably offer the more interesting outfit for a Mezco figure, but Alan would effectively be a redeco of Doctor Strange with a new headsculpt... That's probably what they'll do.

I'm not bothered by the presence of the vinyl strips and printed patterns on Mezco figures, though I do understand why some people are. My issue with Green Lantern is that the extra detailing is altering the look of his costume. Like you said in your other post, it's hard to tell which GL costume John is supposed to be wearing. I can see John's regular GL uniform in there but the green pattern on the body is the problem. If they had made those vinyl pieces on his mid-section and legs black instead of green, I think it would really help the figure's overall look.

But getting back to the vinyl and print used on other Mezco figures, I think it gets used because the muscle definition isn't visible/noticeable due to the fabric. The extra detailing provided by the vinyl pieces and printed patterns make that less noticeable.

If they had done those parts you mentioned in black, I'd probably feel differently. If it's black over black like the detailing on Batman Beyond, that's a lot more subtle and to my eye looks a lot better than just a black fabric unitard with no detailing anywhere. I don't mind deviating from the basic look if it fits with the character and is visually appealing. For instance, AK Batman's bodysuit has different patterns all over it and I think it ends up looking less like some tactical ballistic fabric or whatever it's supposed to represent as much as it looks like he has no-slip things from granny's bathtub all over, and to me it looks like the underlying anatomy is chunky and weird. At a point, it looks overengineered and just plain too busy. On spec ops Punisher, same idea but they sell me that look because it's grounded in reality with not too little detail and not too much.

Plus, I'd have the same fear with GL that I have with ultimate Spidey--that those thin strips are going to eventually start lifting up from the fabric.

Managed to get my order in. Seems they've improved their IT capabilities a bit.

Well that was easily the worst experience ordering from them. Was on the site right as the pre-order button appeared, thought my order was good but then at the end it never produced an order number but took my rewards points I used. Figured I'd try again just in case and every order after that just gave my payment declined. Decided to call them to see what the deal was and they basically said they have no record of me making an order BUT have record of my rewards points being used for that item. Huh???? Well, I got my rewards points back "Due to a glitch in the server" as the note next to the points refund states... but alas I have no Batman. Anyone with an extra order... I'll gladly make an offer for it. PM me.

Well I think I found the culprit. Was just attempting to check my bank account for a charge and go figure their servers are all down... great timing there. I think I just found my final reason to switch banks :)

Yeah, my credit card kept getting denied over and over again. Then I switched to Paypal and it worked like a charm.

I had a very similar experience today. If this had been an actual Keaton Batman instead of an all black SK Batman, I probably would have thrown my phone the moment I saw that it was sold out.

I'm doubtful we'll ever get a true Keaton Batman like the supposed prototype they had way early on, but I'll remain hopeful. If they can finally get a Batmobile out after 3 years of teasing different designs, then I say there is a much better chance.

Now that this figure is done, what do you guys think the Toy Fair exclusive is going to be for 2019? We've had DKR Batman, Spock, Punisher, AK Batman for past shows, so I think it will be a Marvel variant. Possibly a War Machine redeco of the Iron Man figure. I'm doubtful it's Star Trek since the line seems to have stalled or been shelved for the moment and horror figures don't seem to be as popular.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they did a murdered out version of SK Batman like AK Batman. But Iron Man is a possibility too

True, and next year is the 30th Anniversary of the 89 film. Could get weird with what products get released.

Still available. Not particularly enamored with this one myself. Very plain and not much in the way of accessories. Coulda at least included an unmasked head.

This means Mezco either released or opened orders for everything in their 2018 catalogue except for the JL Flash figure and we still have one month to go. That's noticeably more figures released in the line than the previous year and quite a feat even considering the massive delays we are seeing on some figures.

I just hope they can get their projects under control so they don't constantly slip 6 months off schedule.

Seems they're gonna be doing pre-orders for Diabolik next. Definitely an easy pass for me but hopefully someone out there is anticipating this one
