I have a DC Direct 52 Series Animal Man and it is fantastic, i am really setisfied with it. I believe no one still topped it. Same goes for my DC Direct Knighfall Catwoman. I am really very setisfied with both of them. Ofcourse it is about personal taste, if you care about articulation more than sculpt and paint job, McFarlane can be your favorite. I have never seen McFarlane Multiverse Animal Man and Catwoman (purple costume) in hand though.

I am sorry for not being able to get all McFarlane Multiverse figures in my favorites list btw. :/

ThorOdinson123 05-15-2024 03:50 PM

I only have 10 Mcfarlane DC figures so far so I will just rank those.
1.PP John Constantine
2.Swamp Thing Mega Fig
3.Target Exclusive Deadman
4. BA Doctor Fate (I swapped the head with the Injustice one)
5.Demon Knights Etrigan
6. Keaton Flash Batman
7. CE Wonder Woman
8. Walmart EX Black Lightning
9. Classic Superman
10. Steel

Dotanuki 05-15-2024 06:13 PM

McFarlane Multiverse Superman Blue Action Figure would make an awesome classic Superman. The sculpt, especially the face and body proportions are what i call a Perfect Superman as far as i see from the pictures.

Talking about DC Figures bring back memories. Anyone collected the Mattel DC Universe Classics line ??? (: I was so determind to get everything from the Mattel DC Line, i even got the first two series, but couldn't gather the money for the 3rd series and missed it and lost all my motivation to collect the Mattel Figures and quit. (back then i was just a student and didn't have much money.) I still have those figure, they are at the attick of my summer house. I remember really liking the classic Aquaman figure from the second series. (:

I never bought a single figure from that line, but one figure that always tempted me was Toyman. Would love a McToys (Superfriends) version of it.

-(Classic) Atom (just announced)
-(Classic) Robin
-Red Hood (the one with the guns)
-Captain Carrot

That's a great list. Blue AzBat is in my top 5. It's fantastic.

Another great list. I love that Catwoman figure. Another top 5. Sure wish I would have found the PE. It was one of those "If I run across it, ok" situations. But I should have actually hunted it. Because now it's ridiculous and I want it more. Que sera, sera I guess.

I have only ever bought one figure and it was recently. Super Powers Steppenwolf. I'd really like to see McFarlane tackle that figure. As well as a proper SP Mantis, Braniac and Power Suit Lex. But I'm not sure he would do them "correctly". Meaning without cluttering them up with added detail that changes the overal aesthetic.

But at this point my most wanted figure is first appearance Jean Paul Valley Azrael. The new suit with gauntlet blades.

Mattel DC Unvierse Classics Starman (Jack Knight) was the most tempting figure in the line for me. I would like to see a McFarlane Multiverse Starman (Jack Knight) Figure.

I remember after almost all characters made, Mattel asked ''which character do you want the most among the a few characters which yet to be made ?'' and the big majorty asked for the Question, Vic Sage. (:

Steppenwolf is really an interesting choise, such an obsecure character. My favorite New God Character is Darkseid and i really like Metron. Isn't the red and yellow armor costume with the hood and burning blades on the arms which was already made is the first appearace Azrael ? I read Sword of Azrael and that was the costume which he wore in it.

Edit: I checked the picture of the Azrael figure again, and it didn't have the thick gountlets and burning blades on them, so yeah, i would like to see Mcfarlane make that first appearace version as well.

My friends tell me I like the most random characters LOL. It's all based on what hit me as kid, ya know? I guess we're all like that about some things. I'm not a completist in any form and don't even have to have a full team. So that probably does read as randomness.

The Azrael proper they made is the version from Curse of The White Knight (Sean Murphy's White Knight series is a masterpiece). It shares some design cues with the one I'm referring to. I guess it's technically 2nd appearance Azrael?

My favorite Fourth World character is Orion. I'd love a Metron and chair. Would probably look fantastic. Since we're getting Orion maybe Metron is close. Still want to see a proto for Darkseid.

jayvee 05-16-2024 11:40 AM

Not really my thing, but if you like the black/white "sketch" versions of characters from DC Multiverse, looks like McToys store has a sale @30% off.

Yeah, it is always about what you exposed as a kid. I try to be more completist about my figure collecting lately, but i don't have the complete set of anything other than Mafex Terminator so far. HA HA I am really not good at being a completist. I have the White Knight trade, but i haven't read it yet.

Wait a munite, isn't Stepphan Wolf a Fourth World Character ??? Yeah, i would like to see McFarlane DC Multiverse Figures of all the Fourth World Characters as well. My favorite Darkseid figure so far is Mezco 1:12 Darkseid, it is an increadible figure. If you didn't see it in hand, you need to and i have a Mattel DC Universe Classics Orion, it is a good figure.

Does anyone else think Bane is TOO big? As I recall, the venom was only to give him instant muscle mass. Now he's DC's Hulk. What happened?

jayvee 05-17-2024 10:33 AM

As long as things like Bane/Batman and Cyborg Superman continue to sell out, it increases the chance that someday, just maybe, I will get the opportunity to buy Black Canary and Huntress. Power Girl. Zatanna. But I am not going to lie, I am saving lots of $$$ right now on this line. I'm sorry but the Batman and Bane look cheaply painted compared to other figures. And the Cyborg Superman? There's just too much hyper sculpting of plastic on that thing to appeal to an old geezer like me.

Good way to look at it. I agree the painting on Bat/Bane looks terrible. I'm going to remove all the cell shading. I love the blue and grey on Bats and the satinny wired cloth cape is nice. I may give him a new head. There are a couple 3d prints on eBay I've been thinking about. I like that Bane better than the previous version. Due to the largely comic accurate costume

Dude... Do you even see the Bane in the Kelly Jones drawing on the card in the picture. He is huge !!! This Bane figure is not even big enough if we compare it to Kelly Jones Drawing.

As Dotanuki points out a lot of the covers from Knightfall depicted Bane as monstrously large and over time it seems that those covers have had more influence than the interior art as we've seen some pretty massive renditions of Bane, particularly in the New 52 if I'm remembering things right. Looking at McFarlane's first Bane on my shelf I'd say he actually went for one of the more moderate giant-Banes all things considered.

jayvee 05-17-2024 03:15 PM

McToys has shipped Starfire and Penguin. Will arrive next week - happy Friday. Now if I could just get EE to get additional stock in on my Blue Supes and Brainiac ship preorders.

And yet they couldn't have made the Batman Michael Keaton Batmobile with two seats huh ? Now if we can get a Jim Carrey Riddler without the eye mask on we could make Bruce and God from Bruce Almighty ha ha ha
