THIS!!!!

I don't/can't accept that we get Cap and IM becuase of retailers, yet retailers aren't even stocking the line???

Kind of messed up that we are about to see GOTG wave hit online sooner than later and no one is going to get them becuase we all bought one, two, or three extra sets from all the discount stores.

I want MU back...

NoodleChow 07-01-2014 09:07 AM

Dude, is that your signature? Normally I hate it when they take up the whole page but that's a thing of beauty :'D

And yeah, I expect the only wave for stores to stock in bulk is the GotG wave.

kylactus 07-01-2014 09:11 AM

The Hasbro stocker also said that retailers in no way decide the case assortments, or what figures are produced. and to quote her, most of the Wal-Mart purchasers probably couldn't pick Captain America out of a photo line up.

That was only in the ultimate universe, where Marvel said hey let's make everyone weaker and way more creepy. Honestly I would be a little hurt if the movie used the ultimate SW and QS plot, because firstly they've so far done a good job of "based on the main original origins mixed with modernizations of some relevant events", and secondly why would they think that anybody wants to see incest in the movie. This is Marvel cinematic, not Game of Thrones, leave incest out.
Done ranting now, I was really glad at first that MI was at my local grocery (HEB) early. I got Wasp just as early as anybody else here, and it looked promising to the future waves. Now though, they've restocked wave 1 at least twice, and the only figures that anybody bought were the Hulks and the Wasps. Iron Man, Cap'n America, Hyperion, and Grim Reaper are peg warming. My local grocery doesn't usually restock until the pegs are close to empty, they're full right now. Target had wave 1, but I don't go there regularly enough to see restocking. I suppose at least I found MI at retail at all is better than some stores *cough* Wal-Mart *cough*

samsson37 07-01-2014 11:21 AM

Grim Reaper a shelf warmer...how could you not want a guy with a giant sword as hand...these kids today :-p

ultraman zoffy 07-01-2014 11:38 AM

Repacks and character overload are killing Marvel at retail by choking off restocks, and it's astounding that they can't seem to figure it out. MU Cap and Bleeding Edge IM, and GoG Legends Iron Man are straight cock blocking at my local Targets right now, and the upcoming MI GoG re-release wave is gonna drive a nail in it for future releases.

ProfessorHov 07-01-2014 11:43 AM

I belive hasbro is going to end its 3.75 line. Or keep
It to online retailers. Wave 2 and 3 never hit retailers. Wave one after months was finally restocked at my targets. Hope you guys know toys r us and walmart wont carry the 3.75 line anymore. Hence why you see TRU only stocking the last wave of MU and they never got wave 1 of MI. Its a sad sad day when TRu wont carry a line. I'm sorry to say this but 3.75 days are numbered

Sure, they don't decide on the assortments or the individual figures, but they do want recognizable names on the pegs/shelves. Some may not be able to identify Cap on sight, but I would wager that they certainly know his name by now (unless they're roommates with Patrick Star).

Also, those assortments aren't just to appease the retailers. They are designed to grab the attention of younger fans (4+, according to the packaging) who may only know what the most recent cartoons and movies have shown them.

I'd personally love to have a figure with a big sickle for an arm, but I'm weird like that. ;)

kylactus 07-01-2014 11:45 AM

don't feel too bad, no store within 50 miles of me has any well articulated 3.75" figures.

Captain Nash 07-01-2014 11:48 AM

Just saw the individual figures for MI wave 3 show up on Amazon at around the $20 mark. A little high for me and I do have them preordered at BBTS but in a month, if I still don't have from BBTS and they're at comparable prices I may get them. None of the figures are that huge of a priority for me personally - just want them at some point.

Just letting ya'll know if you are wanting to have a look see. :)

before we go completely off on Pym remember he's not the only spousal abuser in the MU.

BP is a dick though

ukmu 07-01-2014 12:24 PM

I hate to say it but I agree with ProfessorHov about the line being in REAL trouble for continuity.

I like the Grim Reaper figure a lot... I have in my HYDRA group with CrossBones

There is more smack in those pics than there was in Jerry Garcia's body!!

Happy JULY everyone!!!!! Comic Con, the UK release of GotG, Marvel Universe LIVE starts in Tampa, AXIS the Avengers and X Men team up event kicks off, Ant Man film SHOULD start back up, Avengers 2 now just 9 months away... good stuff god stuff.

It's funny then that one of the more healthy relationships is between villains Crossbones and Sin. There are some examples of working marriages in the hero community like Black Bolt and Medusa. Rocket Raccoon and Groot, now there's some bromance.

ukmu 07-01-2014 12:48 PM

Ace and Gary never hit each other....

Crossbones is a rapist though, so his nobility is definitely in question.

This resembles the Jerry Springer/ Austin Powers moment.

'Scott! You're just not evil enough...'

NoodleChow 07-01-2014 02:13 PM

Love it! Can't wait till my set comes in tomorrow. Also makes me think Whirlwind and Wasp are on a first name basis.

funny you say that:

David Cannon(aka Whirlwind) continues with the identity of "Charles Matthews", the chauffeur of Janet Van Dyne, first with the intent of robbing her, later with the intent of hitting on her. In the role of Charles, he pines for Janet, making advances towards her when Henry Pym is presumed to be dead during his run in Marvel Feature. Charles is later fired for trying to embezzle Janet's money, and Hank finally discovers that Charles is Whirlwind later on in the series, forcing Whirlwind to abandon the identity

ukmu 07-01-2014 02:37 PM

looking at that pic MI has brought us some winners and a lot of them in just 3 quick waves.....nice one B!

Ohohoho that's good. I'm gonna have to track those issues down now. I kept thinking of the EMH episode where Whirlwind's being escorted to 42 and all the while Wasp is chiding him about it. Ms Marvel goes "Jan, is it necessary to tease the prisoner like that?" and Wasp is all "Yeah, especially when it's Dave. We go way back."
