I have question for you guys and I wasn't sure where to post it ( it doesn't deserve its own thread I don't think). Does anyone else's Scarlet Spider figure stand say Spider-man? Are there any that say Scarlet Spider?

Spider-Man is variant and Scarlet Spider is normal. Or the other way around lol

felks22us 08-11-2011 10:19 AM

nice job that building so works . does any one know how hard to to that ?or whats it is called
?

omega145 08-11-2011 10:54 AM

Yep what Tiberius said, its the Scarlett Spider variant packaged upside down with the spiderman stand.

The regular Scarlett Spider has a stand that says that name and is right side up.

Optimus Vader 08-11-2011 11:25 AM

Did Scarlet Spider just take over as "Spiderman" at some point in the comics? I'm still a little confused by the Spiderman stand thing.

From what I can remember, he was a clone of Parker. Mary Jane got pregnant and Scarlet Spider took up the mantle of Spider-Man for the time, but he never went by the name of Spider-Man while wearing his Scarlet Spider suit. I THINK. I may need to refresh myself on it lol.

The bio on his package confirms that he's a Parker clone, but then goes on to say he becomes friends with the real Spiderman. Nothing about him taking over as THE Spidy though.

I'm kind of assuming he did, otherwise the Spiderman stand variant thing is confirmed as the dumbest thing Hasbro's done with this line.

Tiberius 08-11-2011 11:41 AM

Scarlet Spider - Ben Reilly

"Peter soon gave up the webs when he found out that Mary Jane was pregnant, allowing for Ben to become Spider-Man. Ben enjoyed life as Spider-Man and had his own adventures, but meanwhile Peter was getting suspicious over the results that he was a clone."

Oh that Norman Osbourne! Always up to some (just read that wikia page) good old mind games.

Now I want to see a Spider-Carnage figure.

felks22us 08-11-2011 12:05 PM

I believe Scarlet Spider was killed later on by green goblin. ( impaled Ben Reilly with his glider ) still have that comic lol
I would like to see a armor spidey . that would be cool

Yup, and his body turned to dust. lol

Boba Fettuccini 08-11-2011 12:26 PM

That's what clones do, you know. They turn to dust.

Um... That head actually looks exactly like the Oliver Coipel (the Thor artist at the time) art they were basing it on. Perhaps a silly choice as that's a very transient thing, though I'm sure they didn't expect that would fly over the top of so many people's heads.

Symbiote 08-11-2011 01:15 PM

I tried to do a spider carnage custom. I was going for this look. I couldn't help it. We are the symbiote after all.
From the spiderman line

From the spiderman line

Well, you succeeded (all of you). It looks very good.

Do Boy 08-11-2011 02:02 PM

damn. nice spider-carnage. Best I did was swap heads between that and carnage hahaha

felks22us 08-11-2011 02:23 PM

whole cow thats wicked dude . both of them looks wicked wow . now only hasbro would take note and do some morespiderman and not give us the classic look all the time . its good to get the villan from that spiderman line but they lack in articulation so bad lol. Its funny that they came from Hasbro but MU rocks so good but that wave those not why

MegsTriggerMan 08-11-2011 03:00 PM

Awesome job Symbiote!!

Symbiote 08-11-2011 03:06 PM

The problem with the spiderman heroes is they are smaller in scale like 3.5 probably more close to the dc figures.
For comparison, you can see that he is a tad bit smaller in stature in comparison to the mu spiderman.

Thanks for the feedback though guys. The hands were made from general grevious's feet from a clone wars figure. I tried to use the small plastic tie wraps for the red veins but it came out too bulky looking so I just removed it.

Felks: agreed that the spiderman line lacks major articulation, especially the waist. They are getting better but no where in comparison to mu or gi joe. I think this line will go away next year when the new spiderman movie hits. Fingers crossed for a kingpin figure.

bmorr 08-11-2011 03:06 PM

my "regular" sentinel just came in!

gripe time: the ups lady didnt even bother to drop it on my doorstep, literally dropped it on my driveway. couldnt bother going the extra 10 feet to my door huh. Anyways, because it comes with a shitty XMO wolverine, theres scratchmarks on senty to look like claw marks. Theres no repulsors on the palms like id hoped, ya know, like on the box artand only a hint of boosters under the foot. The positive side though, they left room for grabbing cables to be mounted on the forearm if someone was the mod it. His feet are a good solid anchor and doesnt really sway like galactus does. Oh, and lastly, his chest and shoulder plates? Bendy plastic.......like a thick shower curtain. Was this fig a good buy? kinda, only cause it looks good on a shelf.

I noticed that he was missing the hand repulsors as well. Its just classic hasbro reusing the galactus hands. I'm pretty satisfied with the sentinel figure. His feet are more heavy than galactus so I think he won't fall over as much. My roommate's sentinel's leg was loose by the thigh swivel to where you can literally twirl his leg like a propeller. Mine came out fine though.
