By the by, anyone seeing Hot Zone Armor or Iron Monger from IM2 at retail?

Boba Fettuccini 12-03-2011 07:32 PM

I saw Hot Zone at a few Targets yesterday, but last time I saw Iron Monger was post-Christmas sales last year.

I've seen a few hot zones around and saw a movie Monger at K-Mart within the last few weeks. I'll go back and check on it. You talking about Movie monger or Comic series?

I prefer the 6" Iron Monger with my MU though.

Boba Fettuccini 12-03-2011 07:49 PM

Yeah, I got the 6" one too. Much more accurate.

wolverine2281 12-03-2011 07:54 PM

Seen the iron man figures several at target also and iron monger for the first time since it was originally released

Are you mentioning it because you saw them or because you're looking for them?

Movie but 6" if it fits better with MU, i'll have to look at pics, but I do like the 4 inch one

Looking for, But i want the Hot Zone with a good paint app, Ive seen some really awful ones

I have a master plan to build a legit hall of armor, with led's above and below the figures, so i've got quite a few suit's already but ive seen one hot zone at retail with a terrible paint app and figured with a good one it'd be a great figure to have

Symbiote 12-03-2011 08:42 PM

I love seeing hall of armor stuff.

D Day 12-03-2011 08:46 PM

I didnt think i'd be buying any more IM's after i got one, but then I saw some hall of armors online and I decided i gotta have one too, so my rough idea, is to have it be 5 figures wide, with three or four levels, I'm not sure how many I even have, but I think i can gather up at least 15. most of the led's above and below are gonna be white, but I saw this pic online where someone just took those bases they had at target and used two of them to light up holographic IM, and It looks SICK, so in my HOA the LED's will be blue for him.

I decided on five per row because It'll look pretty sick I think, to have the Holographic IM in the middle of the hall with blue and have white lighiting all around. This could take some time and it's pretty ambitious, but since i have no customizing ability, i figure this is somehting I could do.

So thats what I'm coujuring up. And I hope I can make it happen. Thats why i'm all of the sudden in an IM figure mood.

I didnt originally want Tony Stark IM but after I thought of this project i thought it'd be cool to have him stading infront of the hall lookin ready to rock.

anyway enought about me

Hey Everyone, i've lurked for awhile, decided I would finally post. Some know me from hisstank and marvelousnews. I'm Chris, originally born in Calgary, Alberta, but grew up in Courtenay B.C., and currently live in Anchorage AK! :D

Ever since I saw the first 3.75" MU, I've been hooked. Have almost complete collection MOC. Yeah, I'm one of those guys! :P Recently I've undertaken a diorama project, that's slowly coming along. See below for a couple of pics.

Anyways, I look forward to getting to know you guys!

Best Regards,
Chris

Looks great and I love the hall of armor idea. So are you aiming for 25 suits in your Hall, to put the holographic armor dead center?

I must admit I wish I had picked up more concept armors when they were plentiful. I eyeballed the Deep Dive armor forever but always passed. I wish I hadn't now.

I have a loose deep dive if you have a comic series ultimate iron man!

I'm not sure if there are 25 available, i'm thinking I will be able to gather up 15
so 3 rows of 5 with holo dead center. I have to count what I have, and I have the Holo IM 3 pack on the way monday from Peterparker.

I only came up with this project like three weeks ago, so i've only been aquiring for that amount of time So there are alot of IM's still out there for afordable prices, I got a few from Amazon, and a few at retail and 2 of the three packs via trade.

The moral of the story is that if you think you'd like to do something like this, there are guys out there still without having to break the bank.

I just gotta determine if I can even come up with 15, 25 would be sick though, and of course you'd need an odd number of rows to have the holo be dead center.

D Day 12-03-2011 09:29 PM

For instance: below is 6 single IM2 figures and 1 three pack, All quite resonabaly priced, some below retail, and all eligable for free shipping from Amazon. So thats 9 figures already, plus what you can find at retail still. You could be well on your way to a hall in short order.

I did something similar to that with a Halo "Cortana" figure stand that the old version came with when I got it on clearance for like 2 bucks. Worth it just for the stand alone.

Toss some WarMachines and drones in the back row and I'm sure you'll get at least 25 between comic and movie series, plus MU.

I did a killer Cortana base with tons of LED features for a client last year. I'll post the youtube link if it's cool. Not really MU, but I did use a clear Invisible Woman in the video.:D

D Day 12-03-2011 09:37 PM

Oh and since they are from amazon, the price you see is what you pay, no tax. So you really could get a bunch of figs on the cheep
