Marvel "Variant" |

Basically, she embodies that entire transition from childhood to adulthood. It's much much much more than that, but at a quick glance that's part of why she reverberates in a lot of fans quite well. Especially the ones that had horrible times in school, or girls that get tired of how the guys in the world treat them or look at them. There's also a large depth of other comparisons to cultures that still to this day sell children and use them as servants. There's also the entire future fertility questions that'll arise from 'cloned child births' like an italian doctor did a few years ago among much more. She's also got a larger range of strategic aspects as opposed to wolverine. Wolverine's an animal and a self-proclaimed thug. X-23 is strategic with accuracy and pin point precision. Basically she's the exact opposite of wolverine in every way which is what makes her fun and interesting as opposed to say Daken who is just Wolverine with a mohawk who is 'evil by environment'. Though all 3 tend to really play up to the nature vs nurture argument as well. My favorite part about the character though personally, is unlike wolverine who reacts by his gut instincts, she reacts based on her surroundings and all available information. Issue 7 of her ongoing really highlights this. It's a situation where wolverine would have just gutted them all anyway. Due to the surroundings and all the information available though, X-23 avoids killing anyone. It's a great highlight to their differences in personalities and what they see. For a TV comparison, she's the Ziva to Logan's Gibbs if you watch NCIS. |
So what are these 3 "variants" of Capt Marvel?

That Psylocke matches her outfit in both X-Men and X-Force perfectly- I dont know why so many people keep asking for "an X-Force variant" when this is it- the only variant they could make for Psylocke would be a whole new mold with her old purple armor (and that aint happening, Arkers). The belt thing is NOT woth a varinat in my opinion- not when tey're not making Deathlok or Phantomex- finish the team before such nonsense.

It's like this (pull up a chair, Arkers) there was an assinine story called World War Hulks wherein a bunch of LOSERS somehow caught Doom and others and tapped his inteligence- leaving Doom signifigantly diminished mentally. He was smart enough to know what he'd lost but not how to restore himself. So Valeria (Doom's goddaughter) cut a deal with Doom: she would restore his mind in return for Doom's help in stopping (killing) the alternate reality Reeds which are screwing things up majorly in their attempts to return to their various universes- unlike 616 Reed, these guys are total dicks. So Doom agreed- for him it was win/win. But things tanked hard when Reed and doom assembled a bunch of villians to help him take down his counterparts (why ot the Avengers, Reed? Moron.) and doom got betrayed, the bad Reed got this...collar...on Doom which will lobotomize him if he does not do whatever evil reed says- and now evil Reed has been joined with 616 reed's father (himself aan unimiganible dick ) and they're sorta taking over Latveria- it's regent, Kristoff, playing along to save Doom's life. We're al hoping Doom gets free and kills evil Reed to death. |

IMO, a variant is havok, death archangel, vision, etc. A stretch would be the stands with different names but card art reversed, packaging, glossy finish... I don't care for them that much. |
yeah you have to draw a line with all these variants imo.
I like when they actually give you less product (Cable w/o Hope), for the same price, and call it a variant.
I draw the line at figures I already have.
I don't draw anything, but I pass on the variations of the figures I already have.
I do that too.
Do you draw flies?
It's been hard enough the last four months getting caught up on this line as is, let alone screwing around with variants.
