Some reviewers are getting early copies of the Justice League figures, and Flash has double jointed knees.

Told you, Mattel is upping their game. They're taking their time with it, so they don't .ess up the things they're already good at (like sculpt), but they're upping their game.

Dr Kain 07-24-2017 07:55 AM

You would think this is something they would have been proud to advertise at SDCC though.

The new figures look like very early prototypes, so they might not have been ready in-time to make it into their plans for SDCC.

You mean like the early prototypes of MOTUC they would show off and had no issues doing so?

I'm not saying they don't show off early prototypes, they very much have and still do (as do all toy companies). What I'm saying is that these prototypes in particular might not have been ready in-time to work into their plans for SDCC.

Edit: Since posting this doesn't take anything away from the Toyark coverage of SDCC, here's a link to the figures Kain and I have been discussing:

True, but they still should have talked about them. It could have made up at least a little for their abysmal joke of a display. I don't even know why they bothered spending the money to even come this year. Both them and Bandai were just a waste of time, space, and money.

The whole Justice League line seems very Lazy. It's Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman, Flash, Cyborg, Steppenwolf, Basically Figures we've gotten from the wave since Multiverse started except Steppenwolf

We haven't gotten either that Flash or Cyborg, ever.

I'll give you Wonder Woman, who might have a new headsculpt... i think... and I'll even add Superman (who you didn't mention for some reason), but the JL Batman and Aquaman are new sculpts, the only Flash in the Multiverse line before this was based on the TV show, which was an entirly different sculpt, and this is the first Cyborg in the line at-all. That and the Mera and Parademon are all new sculpts. Then there's the alternate versions of Aquaman and Cyborg who have some unique tooling of their own.

How is that "lazy"?

Dr Kain 07-24-2017 09:44 PM

It's the same characters over and over again. Everyone is making them.

OGTrilogy 07-25-2017 03:11 AM

I'm excited about this new Ray and Wonder Woman. I don't care for that version of Green Lantern, but I'm happy for those that do like him. I think I'll try to customize that Ray into a 90's/Joe Quesada version though. My wife will probably appreciate the WW because she's rockin' smallish boobs this time as opposed to most other WW figures in my collection. The new/updated articulation looks great too!

Overall, I'm looking forward to these new Multiverse figures. They'll probably scale well with my DCUC figures and hopefully I can fill in some gaps in my collection. It will be nice not to have to wait for DC Collectibles to get their act together. Now I just need the stores in my area to restock more often.

I do think it's strange these weren't shown or even mentioned at SDCC, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Picked up all 6 members of The Justice League last night at Target. Personally I love all of them. Superman is okay, Batman is amazing, Wonder Woman is a re-release of the TRU Exclusive(minus her shield), The Flash is fun and has double jointed knees, Aquaman is my favorite, Cyborg is cool but mine has a little black paint on his forehead. STEPPENWOLF...he is the best figure in the wave. This figure is massive and lots of paint detail with good articulation. I'm in the midst of moving, and I don't use photobucket anymore, so I can't post the pics like I want to. Rest assure for those of you who are interested in this line you won't be disappointed.

Cool. I have the original Man of Steel Superman and from what I've seen it seems like every subsequent reissue of that figure looks less and less like Henry Cavil. Weird.

I would stick with that one if you don't want the Steppenwolf C&C. I'm not the biggest fan on cloth capes, but it really works on this "new" Superman. I guess that would be another reason to buy it. LOL.

Yeah man I did the same thing yesterday day. Money is tight so I only picked up Flash and Aquaman. They're so much better then the Suicide Squad figures Flash is the winner He is extremely articulated for Mattel. I wish Wonder Woman was different from the Toys r us exclusive cuz I am going to have buy her twice.

Ravenxl7 07-25-2017 12:43 PM

The next set of reveals went up. There's a "classic" Bizaro that has alternate hands and his medalion. I'm kinda hoping they hold off on doing Rebirth Superman to use this body sculpt. There's also a Gotham by Gaslight Batman and a Vixen.

OGTrilogy 07-25-2017 01:06 PM

I really like these too! I don't need another Bizarro Superman, but Vixen and The Gotham By Gaslight Batman will be welcome additions to my collection. The torso on Bizarro looks just like the bigger buck torso from DCUC, but everything else looks new. I like the new sculpting, especially on the female characters. They don't have the scrawny, stick arms like the DCUC figures always had.

redfox 07-25-2017 01:20 PM

Wow, just looked back at saw the upcoming Batwoman and Jessica Cruz Green Lantern, and now the new Wonder Woman and Vixen. This line has flown under my radar for far too long. Gonna have to pay more attention. Also, that Clayface BAF is perfection.

I thought the Wonder Woman line was a step in the right direction, and it looks like the trend is continuing. I'm very pleased with this wave. I can't wait for the Parademons. My plan is to buy one every week until I have a full army. LOL.

Make no mistake about it, I still see that wave everywhere I go. LOL. My TRU is loaded with the WW exclusive. The Target I got the Justice League wave from had their Multiverse figures in the wrong spot. I went to the same Target earlier while the employees were restocking, and they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if they had them in stock. I went back 4 hours later, and I decided to look for myself and...BOOM struck gold.
