Has anybody noticed people on eBay that have put knock off Carnage figures in original boxes with real BAF parts and are selling them as official unopened Hasbro product?

I've seen loose ones that look a little sketchy, but nothing NIB.
This hobby is turning nasty. I wouldn't really have thought about having to double check a couple years ago. |
Please correct me if I'm wrong though.
Would hate to wrong somebody. |
i found by looking at those links, that either tendrils are missing or in the wrong place. I hope people do their homework before buying carnage or any other figure
|
I was going to ask what the 'tell' was for a KO carnage, but Warmachine answered the question before I even asked. My next question: has Hasbro's Carnage become so expensive that a KO becomes necessary or lucrative? Searches of eBay turn up opportunities to secure one for under twenty bucks...
|
Tendrils are definitely missing. Though I cant imagine why anyone would snag them. Unless of course they are KO version that did not come with any.

The profit margin does indeed seem rather ridiculous. Which in turn makes it more believable that the product is real. Shame though. Would love to see people put this much effort into creating rather than copying. |

Just to be clear, that quote wasn't mine about the Valkyrie being a variant. I took that from the auction.

Just wanted to say thanks to RAF for the 3 pack. I'ts really appreciated by me, and I'm sure it will be even more appreciated by my son when he gets it for Christmas. Thank you

Am I the only one that feels that I shouldn't shell out 100 bucks for a ML Rescue figure? I honestly feel like it's not worth that much considering what we are getting.

Since we're talking about knock offs, was there a knock off Ultimate Beetle? I picked up a second Beetle a few month ago for a custom. I got it from Target. I got around to working on it the other day. Ever since I got it, the whole figure felt floppy. The legs felt really bad, I was worried that he might not stand on his own. I was painting him the other day, the paint wasn't stuck in between any joints or anything, and his left left just fell apart.
Meanwhile, the first Beetle that I have is fine, he's sturdy as can be. I think I'll just use that for the custom since I don't think this version will ever make it to the main Marvel continuity (which is all I really collect). |

What are you customizing it into? I always thought it'd make a good base for a Mach V... |

As for the plastic on figures. Yup. It felt like that cheap plastic they used on the Groot wave. I know exactly what Spyne is talking about. It could be it wasn't allowed to dry long enough, used a different mixture of plastics before painting the figure? Pretty sure it's one of those things. My guess Hasbro probably used someone else (cheaper maybe?) to get the job done. I still can't get over the terrible plastic on the Groot wave figures. Felt like laffy taffy or something like that. I have noticed lately though they did improve the quality, although I haven't even opened the Spiderman Rhino wave figures yet (still setting up my display cabinets). |
