Voyager is my 2nd fave trek....though I will admit the show really got better once kes left and 7 of 9 came one. Her naivety and crew interactions we so off because she was borg so long that it really kinda added missing element. Not that the kes seasons were bad but it just didn't feel as solid as it did in the later seasons. DS9 was soso but easily one of my least favorite treks, especially once the whole idiotic dominion, heaven hell thing started, plus it didnt have a real ending it just left it on a cliff hanger with no resolution.

DS9 is my 2nd fave behind Next Gen, but to each his own.

I think DS9 had some really strong story arcs.

Cool new Transformer on the way. Too bad it's based on one of the saddest episodes of any Transformers cartoon. :(

I can't speak for DS9 as I have not yet watched it, but when did you last try with Voyager?

I am also on Reddit and there are a lot of people who either watch it now for the first time ever, like I did, or knew it as teenagers but dismissed it when it originally aired and find now that it is actually a great show.

Maybe one needs to be a certain age to enjoy it? Janeway is such a wonderful captain, and I do love the whole crew to bits. Maybe you'll give it another try one day although I must also say that I don't like the pilot very much, it is very confusing for a newbie. But I did love all the episodes coming after that in season 1 and everyone agrees that this is the series that was great from the beginning and then only got better, while others took two seasons to find their stride.

I got into Star Trek very *very* late in the game, as well. That’s owed entirely to the influence of the Mass Effect trilogy, which is essentially the same concepts of optimism and diplomacy and emotional engagement and sexy danger in space extrapolated over 200 hours of gameplay. In many ways, it’s very much an interactive love letter to the Star Trek formula.
My wife just got me watching Deep Space Nine, so we’ve been working our way through that.
