Maybe because I spend all freaking weekend trying to get a friend to pick me up the Marvel Universe exclusive. hasbrotoyshop is a complete nightmare for me. Are there any good pix of the diorama up yet or just the vid?

I saw a few photos up on Kasters Korner but nothing to clear of the dio.

I feel like ever since MU became MI, we get stuff on a quarterly basis and that's from online...when it used to be every other month or so...but guess that's great for my wallet:P

Someone else pointed out she was wrestling with dark phoenix (would love to see some mud and/or ky wrastlin). Hopefully we get the juggy colossus. I would love if they released blob again. Someone at hasbro must love moon boy.

IcantBseriouS 07-24-2014 07:00 PM

The Lannisters love moon boy.

What's the deal with MU Vision figure..why is it so pricey? Plus rare?

I thought only the solid variant was rare and expensive. Because it's a variant so there's already less chance to find that specific version, and because we made it rare. If it weren't for collectors having such high demand (wanting) for the variant, then it would hold less value. Take beanie-babies for example, there are some ridiculously rare and hard to find beanie-babies, but there is absolutely zero demand for them, ergo they are worth less than original price. With MU however, there is a following, and with it a demand for such variants. Look at all the original vintage Star Wars toys, if Star Wars wasn't a cultural phenomenon, the rare vinyl cape Jawa would never be worth around $3000 or more.

Solid Vision was the regular figure of that wave. The phasing version didn't ship until a revision case much later. The wave Solid Vision was in just seems to have been produced in small numbers and a lot of people even passed on Vision when he came out. I don't know if he was one per case or in lower numbers than someone like Warpath (who used to sell for like $75). Maybe some of them disappeared along the way but slowly people were willing to pay more and more for him.

That's at SDCC currently?

Do u guys prefer the solid or phasing one

ukmu 07-24-2014 11:35 PM

The Vision is not a variant, the phasing version is the variant as Iceman pointed out. The Vision is the rarest figure out there going by confirmed production numbers. That is a very valid reason as to why he is so expensive....supply and demand. He was single packed and omitted from several cases due to factory error.

David Vonner...if you don't know that name Google him straight away... was 100% the man behind the MU line. All things great and glorious are credited to him. In fact, he even championed for rocker ankles.because fans demanded it, they are known, to some, as Vonner ankles even. Anyway, according to a famous podcast... Vonner himself claims that ONLY 125 of solid figures of THE VISION were ever made.... truth or myth, up for debate. There has even been a "roll call" on other sites before to try and debunk his statement.... did not prove him.wrong. Perhaps it is true, perhaps it isnt- who knows. If ANY other person said it, no biggie... write it off. Since IT WAS him, his statement has a lot of validity. If ANY human on Earth would know....it WOULD be him. He is a no nonsense sort of guy, if he didn't mean it he wouldn't say it. Those facts alone, one must seriously consider that his numbers are correct or at least close. That would make The Vision one of the lowest produced mass market releases from Hasbro ever.

That aside, The Vision is a key Avenger member and without question (at least to me) the GREATEST paint job on ANY action figure in ANY toy line ever made. Even his wee cape slightly glistens in the sun in its sparkly glory. I have said it before and I will say it again, he looks like a hot rod with his paint. So bright and shiny and colourful. He stands out immediately in any collection pic. Even the phasing variant looks cool (I have never seen in person though) but looks great with light flooding through him.

I'll say it would probably look pretty cool under a black light, I have a lot of other translucent figures and they all react pretty great under black light. I don't have any Vision in my collection (I can wait, I'm patient and wouldn't lose sleep over not having one) so I would like for him to be repacked at some point, or a totally new one. Scarlet Witch needs to be divorced from someone, and Ultron misses his boy.

ukmu 07-25-2014 12:39 AM

Never seen a black light pic.... sounds interesting. I am picturing Radiactive Man glowing.... The translucent figures are great!!! I like the new Ionic Wonder Man a lot! Do you have any black light pics to share En Sabah? Or anyone for that matter.... we could some pics of older figure this weekend with all the talk being of new stuff!!

Post up some golden oldies!!!!!!!!!!!! It will at least give us something to do while we wait for news this weekend. Plus, it is good to look back at times. Especially when everything is looking ahead this particular SDCC weekend.

Here is G R and his bike in our collection

IcantBseriouS 07-25-2014 01:27 AM

ok that bike looks good. I just got in the mail yesterday a 1:18 black widow die cast chopper for my ghost rider. It looked great online when I had ordered it. But now it just seems the back end is too low and the forks go out way to far for me. Idk I guess I'll never be happy with any bike.

ukmu 07-25-2014 01:44 AM

1:18 stuff is a bit too small. Our figures are really closer to 1:15 as none of them are really under 4 inches tall.

That in the in pic, is the movie bike what had the pull cord thing that made the back tyre spin. It came with a plastic GR in a seated mount, had to unscrew him and cut his arms off the handlebars.

This is it.... the head even fits MU if you wanted to dremmel out the hole a bit. Be cool to have a screaming skull head!!! Got one on eBay for less than a tenner shipped.

So until we get a chance to see the official SDCC dio in all its glory I give you a little piece of the one I am currently working on. I didn't want to post pics until I had my finished Kree Soldiers. My favorite is the Warpath Buck since he is like a giant bruiser of a Kree.

This is fantastic. Really nice job.

Everytime someone mentions Vonner, I always remember this quote of his from last year (via Twitter):

... A few cool SDCC Exclusives...but a LOT of stuff is unimpressive. Here's a tip....think of the fan first!
Like you said, he is strictly no-nonsense.

BAD MOON 07-25-2014 07:22 AM

Anybody have info on that new Galactus in the Hasbro display?

samsson37 07-25-2014 08:27 AM

He's not for sale. strictly made for the display

ukmu 07-25-2014 08:59 AM

Hail HYDRA

ukmu 07-25-2014 08:59 AM

I made that Galactus out of macaroni, paint and glue. Once you see a better pic, you will see. From that angle it is hard o tell I used googly eyes. Made it at sleep away camp this summer..... ;)

NoodleChow is the wisest when it comes to that sort of thing. He says it is a scaled up Iron Man digital print out something something. I don't remember, I am sure he will inform us later. He is a smart cookie that guy.

Hopefully today we will see some GOOD pics of the whole thing and some quality film as well. That 45 second job makes me go cross eyed!!!!

The only MU figure I have that's translucent is Iceman, so I'll also post this Predator from NECA. The reason I have a black light is scorpions, they sneak into the house when the weather severely changes and black lights make them easy to find and kill, if anyone was wondering why I already have black lights.

No no, the Hills Have Eyes was in the deserts of California, I have more of a Leatherface's butcher shack with furnishings crafted from my victims. The specific Predator in the picture is Water Emergence predator from series 9, though there are some other cool ones to choose from.

Ninjinister 07-25-2014 10:12 AM

Dagnabbit I've wanted a Machine Man in this scale forever. Now he's in Legends scale but we don't get one yet?
