Plus we need a maria Hill figure and a generic female shield operative. An updated generic male operative too. Toss in Sharon Carter on that buck while you're at it. That's 5 figures from the Avengers BW mold right there.

I don't get the complaints on the articulation for Sandman, Beast, and Bishop.

They all look like they have bicep swivel. They're only missing thigh cut swivel really. Leg calves swivel was redundant anyway when they have ankle swivel. It's not like they tooled entirely new molds with stepped back articulation. These are the normal handful of new parts on pre-existing bucks that we're used to seeing.

For these three I'm indifferent on that since we're probably not far off from a beast repack with head swap(plus I like cat beast). Though it will be nice to have a Dark Beast, I hope they tweak the mold a bit to give him a lab coat or different head.

Might pick Bishop up when he's released. Not sure. This version doesn't really go well with my Astonishing/Now team setups. Though if they do a bald variant, I might have to get him and Cable.

Kind of hoping they do a box set at some point. Bald Bishop, Cable, and grown up Hope.

There aren't a lot of clear pics of these new figures yet but I was really studying them and Bishop may be the worst (in my opinion). No wrist articulation, no torso, maybe no waist. Same with Beast too. Hoping someone calls out Hasbro at their panel.
Couldn't use the new Deathlok buck?

Last year we were shown prototypes of Hyperion and Grim Reaper, everyone said the line was dead. Look what we've got this year! And the year's not over yet! I'm telling you, this line is still going strong and people will not be disappointed unless they want to be.

I hope you're right man, Don't get me wrong I love the 3.75" marvel universe, otherwise I would not collect them. I'd say tough, I have invested enough in Hasbro's products to render a fairly accurate opinion on the state of this line, and "strong" is not the term I'd use at the moment. The MU, and MI lines have given us some of the finest figures ever made, no question. But I feel most of the crap were dealing with is management issues. It's obvious looking at many of the figures we've already gotten over the years, that Hasbro knows how to make a hell of a figure when they want to. That said, when we get crap like this I will call them on it. Most of the "new" stuff this year has been out of canceled multi-packs, or figures that have been on the limbo drawing board for years. The focus of these lines from the beginning was suppose to be us, adult collectors! seeing major back-steps in sculpting, articulation, packaging, and distribution,.... on and on! make me critical. I challenge anyone to tell me ONE, just one way that the latest MI wave is superior to the first wave from 2009! If the offerings put up at SDCC were the first 3.75" Marvel figures I encountered I can't say I would have ever gotten on board, and I sure as hell would have never gone compleationist on this line. I stand, unimpressed.

I think a lot of what you said is fair and true, kylactus, but I look at the last wave we got, with Deathlok, Ares, etc. That is a brilliant wave. There is a lot of new sculpt in that wave. The new Sandman is something many of us have been waiting for and that's just Absorbing man with a new head an cool appendages. Beast and Bishop? Waist and wrists... I'm waiting to hear what Hasbro will say about their waists and wrists. Maybe those two figures will be better than they look when we get them in hand. I heard Target is dropping the line and maybe it's time to do direct to consumer, kind of already is. The line is definitely not as strong as it started and that is 100% Hasbro's fault but new tooling followed by new tooling is a good enough sign to me. I understand some of the irritation but I hate the flat out blinders to the positives.

kylactus 07-25-2014 11:26 PM

Oh I'm not 100% negative on the line, I have bought every figure, But our latest wave (starlord, Drax, Rocket...as a single!, and wonderman) is three straight repacks, and one paint/color variant. that is redonkulous!
I agree that the Deathlok wave was epic, probably the best wave in two years, maybe as a wave collectively, the best in the history of the Hasbro 3.75 lines. but like a connoisseur of fine wine or a car collector when the brand I love and respect drops the ball I won't cut them slack. mostly because I know what they are capable of. I don't feel anger, so much s disappointment when I see how flawlessly they execute a figure like Aries, or Deathlok, then only months later I'm presented with Bishop,(one of my favorite characters) represented in a fashion completely inconsistent with the high level of quality I have come to expect from Hasbro. My criticism is not meant as disrespect, rather concern for the overall standards of a line I really do love and hope to not see turn into crap.

ukmu 07-25-2014 11:32 PM

So if Target and Wal-Mart are dropping it, who will carry the line in region 1? TRU and smaller regional chain stores? Maybe mum and pop toy shops and comic shops... but they would have to mark up.the.price a bit so they can eat. Also, two waves of peg warmers and they would be out.

It is time for a change in distribution. Even BBTS can't get it right. Maybe a direct type scheme, but Hasbro Toy Store doesn't do international. UK, Asia and Europe are big markets they miss out on. Also, on the Facebook groups, there are a lot of South Americans, I mean as much as 15- 20% of the total. I fear that if they do that, half of the collectors would be left out.

I don't have the answers, but where do they expect to sell this new wave?

Do u guys have target and walmart in uk? Targets some has the wave MI but walmarts has nothing but winter soldier stuff

ukmu 07-26-2014 12:25 AM

No Target, and ASDA is under the Wal-Mart International umbrella. They are mostly groceries though, not like department stores in US.

We have Tesco, the second largest retail store in the world. Only slightly behind Wal-Mart as they have Asia, EU and China locked down. The last wave they had, that I can confirm anyway, was the Hercules wave.

So all the complaints about articulation aside.... I still don't know where they expect to sell them. I guess online toy shops, but even that is being handled poorly lately.

Check out Cyclops crying in the corner!!!!

Primacron 07-26-2014 03:55 AM

If that is just a quick custom of Beast, I wonder whether the actual figure will share a mold with the rumoured Sasquatch and Wendigo?

(I know the latter two should be bigger, but I'm not convinced that would worry Hasbro - they're all furry, that's close enough.......)

Iceman 07-26-2014 05:07 AM

Wow, just saw those figures. I can't believe it. I'll be fine with that Beast for the dark Beast version. To tell the truth the articulation isn't terrible on him but Beast is like Spider-Man and should be a MAX articulation figure.

Bishop is the real problem. I'm fine with how the figure look and even the lack of which cuts or torso articulation. It looks like he has swivel biceps but if he doesn't the figure is a completely failure. The real issue is that Hasbro has once again cut out wrist articulation and in the main line instead of of movie figure. Hope the final product adds wrists.

Someone going to the Hasbro panel please tell them this. If a character uses guns or bows or weapons they NEED WRIST ARTICULATION! It's very basic that they need to hold they weapons, especially if you pack a rifle in there. Stop giving us Fury's and Hawkeye's with no wrist movement!

On a positive note character choices are good and show they've listened to us. Sandman is exactly what I expected. I guess there is still the SHS Beast option for a proper figure and this will work enough for most people (if it ever makes it to retail). Anyone want to wager on the articulation the Big-Time Spidey will have? Gonna use the FF buck again?

ukmu 07-26-2014 06:01 AM

I think these are the articulation Iceman. What you see is what you get. The guy Zak from onepercase.net has talked to the guys from Hasbro and they have confirmed the loss of articulation is a cost cutting effort.

Also Bishop has NO bicep swivel, just ball post elbow like some Joe's have. No thigh cuts, calf cuts, wrist cuts, bicep cuts, waist cuts, or articulated torso. Even Spidey is a straight up and down figure. I think 9 to 11 points of articulation per figure (add two more if you want to count double knees) is the way of the future. Some where between Ares and a Chitauri....

Nexodusrex 07-26-2014 06:34 AM

I'm doing shitty yardwork today. Does anybody have an idea when the press conference starts for Hasbro Marvel? I'm going to plan my yardwork around it and cant find the answer

well, can they atleast make them look good? I mean, I'd be ok with Black Cats Articulation if she was actually black. like a glossy black would be nice. also, if they were going to create a new mold specifically for her torso, couldnt they atleast spiffy it up with better cleavage/neck fur and maybe a zipper or somthing? its just so....blank

Wish they would atleast keep wrist swivel.

Lastly, I want them to create a collectors club for Infinite. seriously. works for joes, would work for Marvel

BAD MOON 07-26-2014 07:15 AM

If this is the way the articulation is to be going forward for any new sculpts, I'm done with collecting 3.75 Marvel, and I've been collecting since the first MU wave. Beast could have been a rad figure but no waist or torso articulation on an acrobatic character like that is a slap in the face.

AndreWebs 07-26-2014 07:15 AM

They reduce the quality of the line, paint and sculpt is good.. articulation not so much, but at least are characters that a lot of us want, anyone know if Hasbro reveals the date this new wave hits?

2GOLD 07-26-2014 07:19 AM

I like Black Cat has her different costume for the AI but I agree, her paint needs to be shiny and sadly with her, the chest slit needs to go a little lower. The fur isn't looking great with a dull flat black.

I will say this isn't my favorite costume of hers but I get wanting to go unique with each line.

Nexodusrex 07-26-2014 08:36 AM

I am totally gonna mod black cat. For starters, black gloss paint. Might green stuff the boob fring if it sucks when I see it. Maybe get a second Emma if she ever gets released and do a high heel swap.

I really want wrist articulation to come back.

It wasn't that I didn't believe you, it's just that I didn't know of one until you brought it up. Your words have made their mark though, and struck a grievous blow to my heart, consumed by emotion as it is, now deadened by the crippling phrase "I told you so."

Not that I didn't believe you either.
I said wait and see because I didn't trust bleeding cool. They (not you) tend to be full of hot air and grasp at straws for the sake of headlines.
