FINALLY found some new Spin Master figures today at Target. Grabbed Clayface, new Nightwing, and...I've just been calling it Knightmare Batman since it looks like Batfleck from the Dawn of Justice scene. They'll have to sit under the tree for another week though.

They're not replacing the regular figures though right? I may not be looking forward to Gunn's movie but I was looking forward to the figures from it.

This is actually probably more DC's doing than Spin Masters'. We forget that some licensors like DC heavily dictate product-planning. I've no doubt DC Consumer Products/"Licensing" or whatever has been noticing the Super Powers line's sales success and are drawing the conclusion that "retro sells!" They probably asked their licensees for retro ideas. DC may have even come up with the idea for a Forever Retro line themselves. For all we know, they could've approched McFarlane first about a Forever line, but McFarlane turned it down or couldn't do it. At any rate, you'll notice there's a Retro look to Mezco's Bat-stuff with the packaging for the TAS and Batman '89 stuff mimicing the lines from the 80s and 90s, and word is other retro product lines are coming from DC. I think the prevailing notion in the toy business right now is that there's money to be made in "retro."

Collectors who came of age in the 90s will probably dig it. I was done with toys by the 90s, and didn't even see Batman Forever when it came out, so there's no nostalgia in this style of action figure or the film for me. I'll maybe buy the Batmobile if I find it on clearance to add to my Batmobile stable I use for Super Powers, but it's not even close to being one of my favorite Batmobiles, so it's not a priority or a must-buy.

Superman movie is getting 4 inch as well but knowing Spinmaster they probably won't fit with anything else

Same, I just found her at a sweet price and figured why not check it out. Makes a nice spot filler for now, no doubt.

Ill never understand the point of female figures having a crotch joint like that, doesn't even let this sit just useless articulation imo.

Was there ever an explicit Red Robin in this scale outside of the old Batman evergreen line? I know there were a few Robins that were Red Robin-like but I thought I had at least a second one in my collection that was RR in name and appearance....
