Also, just found out half price books is selling old toys... weird. Got a 1989 batman micro vehicle set and that spiderman 2 toy in the pic. strange day.

Snailbot 07-21-2012 08:03 PM

Pretty awesome haul today. Found the toys at my local TRU, books at Half Priced Books.

I didn't see any of the new 2 packs but they had plenty of the Scott and Jean First Class 2 packs.

Not sure. I just did a daily search for "honor guard joker" and changed the search critieria to show the lowest price first

Snailbot, if you have not read Armor wars, you're in for a treat- and you'll DEMAND that we get a figure of the Firepower armor!

It's been on my list for a while now and I'm glad I found it on the cheap. I read half of it today and I DEMAND a Firepower, Stingray, and everyone else figure in that book. Including Jheri Curl Mullet Tony Stark ;)

Hells yes! I was amazed and blown away at the IM2 comic series' offerings- whoever decided what figs to make MUST have read Armor Wars!
the face on the Silver centurian armor is such a perfect match...
It's like the IM2 Comic series was intended to be an Armor Wars series instead.

I'm cobbling together a Firepower update right now with the 7" Iron Monger movie fig, tons of GI Joe and Gundam parts and a cast of the comic Iron Monger's head which will get modded. Here's an off fact- the script called for Firepower to me "matte military grey" but Layton says on his website that he just cant draw armor non-shiney! I'm gooing to go with Testors' Aggressor Grey paint (the color paint of fighter planes) and yellow
details...plus several GI Joe military stickers.
Once you finish the armor Wars, go to BobLayton.com to read about the story that was going to be Armor Wars 2 but problems with Marvel nixed it.
Man, I gotta get some Bright and Layton art for my wall- I already have a great JrJr Tony Stark sketch and I just got an awesome Kevin Hopgood IM & WM sketch!

Anyway, we need Mandroid figs! I'd buy like six! THey could repaint them into the blue and grey NYPD versions JJJ uses as his Anti-Spider-Man Taskforce!

I saw a great Beetle custom made from a guardsman fig, a sculpted head and some purple paint. looked great too!

I was thinking of making a Controller from a Planet hulk head (hair sanded off) and Thanos body...he's that big. same kinda face too.
I already have a Stingray started....gotta get back to that!

Hey, here's a treat: this month's Punisher has one of Cord's Raiders working (sans armor) security at a super-arms auction...his last lines to Frank as he's on his back bleeding out "Who are you?!?"
Punisher: "Die curious."

once i finish rearranging all my HT stuff and make room for the diorama of the armory for them, absolutely.
some of my stuff has to go into storage since i have no more room to display anything new, im right smack in the middle of deciding what goes and what stays...

not a fun thing to do its like getting ready to move without getting a new house at the end of the week lol

Torn Prince 07-22-2012 02:36 AM

Yeah I don't like minimates either...seriously ugly deformed figures. I would at least like my figures to somewhat resemble their comic, movie, or video game namesakes.

The guy didn't know what he had. He was selling it for $30 but got him to do it for $25....I think he goes for about a hunnid at the most.

kenm2474 07-22-2012 04:58 PM

I have a Primus loose if someone wants it also a Unicron

Nice! And he managed to keep his buttflap! Did it come with the key to pop the head?

Yeah $50 complete/loose is where I'd value him at.

Pretty cool niche figures

I didn't collect any of them until the Thundercats ones hit...I am looking forward to series 2 and 3 in October now

Lody666 07-22-2012 05:08 PM

I picked up four complete GI Joes (Darklon, 88 Destro, Windchill and 89 Track Viper ) as well as the 30th Anniversary (1964-1994) 3.37 classics sets (the five pack with the space capsule) all MISB for less than $30

I also stopped by Hallmark and scored the Thundercats Lion-O Xmas Ornament

They had a pretty cool collection of ornaments this year including Stay Puft Marshallow man that sings the GB theme

I'd take the butt flap over the key anyday, and not all of them came with a Unicron head if I recall, only at WalMart. Good score my man!
