I picked up a loose DCSH/DCUC Mongul off of eBay. After getting the Icons JL set I decided I wanted to add a villain for them to face off against. I've always liked Mongul even though he isn't the most popular or powerful villain in the current DC realm. Usually I say I like Mongul and other people fire back with "oh man but Darkseid's more powerful and shit," and then I just have to be like "yeah, but I like Mongul more."
The sculpting and paint are impressive for a toy from around a decade ago and they hold up well, hell they're better than what I can go find from Mattel in a store now. There's some minor paint blurring and some small applications are off but nothing I can really complain about. For the price I got him for I'm very happy to have picked him up.
I did like this design but i wish it'd been bigger.

Yeah, but since I am putting him in with the Icons it works out decently. This figure was made before they started doing CnC so it's not as big as classic comic Mongul should be but it's big enough to be comparable to his size from the JL/JLU cartoons which is fine by me since this toy uses a technically original design, though obviously classic in inspiration.

The 90s Flash series was very good IMO & I dug the muscled look they went for with the costume. The DCUC line is still better than the current Multiverse line. Sorry, but it just looks cheaply made. Bad sculpts, lacking in articulation. DCUC line was greatly sculpted & they went way out of their way to complete just about every DCU comic team you could think of!

I'll say! The Flash looks pretty decent but the head on Batman is a little iffy

I have yet to be able to catch the Dr. Pshcho wave and now the Shipp /Kilmer is hitting?? Let me guess, Clayface will be next week?? ( and Spider Man Legends soon as well) Don't they know I have a convention to go to in a few weeks??? How am I gonna go to the show if I got no money?? :-P

Oh, dear. Am I going to have to start collecting DC Multiverse again???

I think the answer may end up being an affirmative one, provided they maintain what they've achieved with the Flash.

Anyone see any shots of the back of the package?? Wondering if there could possibly be a better pic of the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman on the back.

EDIT: Scratch that. Found a shot of the package, but it only shows Flash & Kilmer's Batman.

man if they start getting selection, paint, and articulation better...(like it looks)...they are going to draw in a lot more fans

Yeah, this thread's existence is evidence that the fans are still here...some of us, have been waiting very patiently for a return of DCUC (just as what happened with the RoML) and never sold-off their original collection to jump to Icons....and to think, despite the success of RoML, personalities here (and elsewhere) commented that my staunch belief that DCUC would make a return was little more than a misguided pipe-dream.

After seeing that Flash, my "pipe-dream" is looking more and more like an eventual reality...

luckily it'd be a lot more "pick an choose" from a DC line though. Like that batman looks cool..but i wouldn't want or need that.

It's been difficult to find DC Multiverse figs at retail in my area. I ordered the Dr. Psycho wave from Big Bad Toy Store.

Awwwwwwwwwwww man. So Mattel half assed their Rebirth Superman. They gave him double jointed knees, new hips/waist that are similar to the Marvel Legends, but everything else is the same style. No ankle rockers, no hinged wrists, and no double jointed elbows. :banghead: It really looked like they had gone all out on him from the pictures.

I think that's just the Canadian price. That would be about $24 US.

This is a little bit better than how they normally do cloth capes, but it still isn't quite enough. Why can't they ever give Batman a full cape?
