Look as far as articulation goes they knew back in the darn 80's to give us freaking kung fu grip ! 2014, we got damn watches we can call eachother on, 6year old who work computers better than there parents...yet you can't give us a freakg swivel bicep ?!! Wtf

I understand the desire for it NOT to be risque Gamora, I don't want that one as a toy either as the outfit is entirely impractical. They could use this version from towards the end of that volume

It's considerably more covering but matches the outfits of the existing guardians' figures. If they did her new armor I would feel a tad odd placing it with Star-lord and Rocket who don the old uniforms. My biggest issue with her armor is honestly that it's just white armor plating. She could have at least decorated it if it had to be so dull. Why do people only complain about women characters being nearly naked? Silver surfer and Abomination are technically completely naked, while Hercules often wears very little himself.

To be fair, they can use bicep and thigh swivels. They just figure it's cheaper to not and we're the rubes who'll still buy 'em. Also, the watch on its own can't call, you have to link it to your phone still like a bluetooth.

IcantBseriouS 07-27-2014 05:39 PM

Ok so the ebay seller Moonbasetoysandcollectables has broke me for the day. I've spent last night & today on ebay. Picked up Bulldozer, Thunderball, Skrull, Xforce Warpath, Xforce Wolverine, Namor, Green Goblin, Capt Britain, Baron Zemo, Hobgoblin, Abomination & Abomb. I missed out & got outbid on a lot more :(

If they don't give me the armour one, I will take the look from the cartoons

I think we'll get something to the movie style Gamora. I'm cool with that if they make it blue to match the rest of the team.

All 3 we've shown seem very similar to me, I would gladly accept any of them. I would also probably get the armored version if they made it just to have a Gamora in the scale, despite my early arguments.

spade 07-27-2014 06:44 PM

So what spider-man characters are top ten now?

1. Kingpin
2. Scorpion (classic look)

En Sabah Nerd 07-27-2014 07:01 PM

1. Venom
2. The Lizard
3. Carnage
4. The Shocker
5. Demogoblin
6. Spot
7. Scorpion
8. Spider-Man Noir
9. Kingpin
10. The Beetle (kind of counts, the girl one though, make Mach-5 or whatever number he's at now as a separate figure since he's not even in Spider-Man anymore)

2GOLD 07-27-2014 07:20 PM

1. Venom
2. Anti-Venom
3. Hydroman
4. Beetle
5. Kingpin
6. Jackal
7. Shocker
8. Hammerhead
9. Tombstone
10. Lizard

People always disrespect poor Hydroman. :(

1. Kingpin
2. J. Jonah Jameson
3. Morbius
5. Molten Man
6. Aunt May
7. Ultimate Spider-woman
8. Agent Venom
9. Hammerhead
10. Tombstone

Then I want a box set of the superior foes (silvermane's head, shocker, boomerang, speed demon, beetle, and overdrive).

Iceman 07-27-2014 07:32 PM

Are you guys just listing figures that you want or that you think they will make? Some of you listed a lot of characters we've already gotten acceptable version of and a lot of the others are probably too obscure. I do see a new Venom or at least Agent Venom happening. Not sure I would want Kingpin or Scorpion if they articulation is going to be crap. Well, I guess Kingpin could be half a brick and still be okay. Hydroman I would have thought could be a swap figure for Sandman since they would use a lot of the same parts but I guess not.

My sentiments exactly.

uberlad 07-27-2014 07:35 PM

If the trade off for lesser articulation is more figure specific sculpts, then that's the perfect environment for Kingpin!

What's wrong with Carnage and Lizard from the Spiderman line?

uberlad 07-27-2014 07:50 PM

I've always favored sculpts and character selection over articulation, so while I'm disappointed that certain figures are leaving potential for more awesomeness on the table, it's not a deal breaker for me. The Spider-Man line Venom is one of my fave figs despite it lacking some basic p.o.a.

I do think certain characters merit more articulation, and beast is one of them. I also want a regular comic Spidey with the ultra articulation they gave the movie Spider-Man figures.

For now, though, which characters a la Kingpin do you think could still be awesome with lesser articulation?

Like every 3-5 pages the discussion goes back to Hank hitting Janet. wtf.
It's crazy.

The more I see of that Beast the more I'm coming to terms with it. Still want the arms to be scaled something like 30% larger since they look kinda short and tiny as is.
Beast should have much larger arms. It's part of the character ffs. This design fails badly for me.

Quote:

Because comics are still primarily read by males and we can't have idealised / sexualised female forms in media for males. The fact that *all* physiques in comics are idealised and many costumes are ludicrously revealing doesn't seem to matter. I thought the massive-chested small-waisted female form that became popular in the 90's was ridiculous then, and still do now. But if I was being honest, the male physiques were always just as ridiculous ('scrawny' Parker who's looked like a weightlifter since the 70's...)

Quote:

We will. But it's badly cheap, and I just don't buy the cost cutting defence. How much more does it cost to have a machine go 'schtunk - schtunk' on every figure that rolls off the line? They're just being lazy about the line because they don't care about it. I guarantee if sales drop for them they will put the artic back. The irony is they choose to do this just as Mattel come out fighting with 4 inch figs for the first time in years...

Quote:

1. Kingpin
2. Scorpion (classic look)
I think the Doc Ock they do will suck, so we'll still need a Doc Ock. But yeah, Kingpin and Scorp are the last of the great Spidey villains that have yet to be made in any form.

Quote:

1. Venom
2. The Lizard
3. Carnage
4. The Shocker
They've all come out in one form or another... even if they could use upgrades.

Where is the Sasquatch we were promised last year?

K Dubious 07-27-2014 07:52 PM

What do you mean Hydroman gets no love?!

http://i.imgur.com/EyZmbHm.jpg

This was an easy one to do Hyperion head is so perfect for him it is silly.

What did you all do with all your extra Absorbing Mans???

En Sabah Nerd 07-27-2014 08:20 PM

I'm aware that all of my top 4 have pretty good figures in this scale already from other lines, but they're not easy to come by/an MI version would be appreciated still. I honestly don't care for Anti-Venom (like at all) he looked cool on the debut cover, but that was it. And he always read as excessively preachy about curing stuff, though I could see it as a variant to a good new Venom figure (similar to how the Spider-Man line made AV out of the stretch strike Venom). I did make some funny nicknames for him though: The Mayonnaise Menace, the Marshmallow Monster, the Sour-cream Socker, or the King of Creme.

One of my favorite characters (Rachel Grey) sports a pretty much all covering jacket look as my favorite costume for the character (and the one that I hope gets a figure one day). Though the point of comics is to be fantastic and unreal, so with that come ridiculous proportions (like the triangle shape of many male characters in the 90s). Omega Red was like a walking Dorito with limbs and clothes.

AndreWebs 07-27-2014 08:30 PM

Top ten...

1.Madame Web
2.Julia Carpeter as Madame web
3.Kingpin
4.New Hobgoblin
5.Menace
6.Hydroman
7.Silver Sable
8.Hammerhead or Mr Negative
9.Modern Spider Slayer or Morlun
10.Spider Armor MARK 1 (Variant Spider Armor Mark 2)

I know there are some other classic characters but I already make customs of them so this list is the customs I havent make.
Also...
11.Superior Spider-Man Minions (Why? because I like those guys so much and they were a lot of fun in the comics, so why not?)

xMostWanted559x 07-27-2014 09:16 PM

Was there ever a kingpin made

I'm curious to see the range of motion on these new ones, especially black cat. I mean the current X-23 female buck has all sorts of swivel cuts, but the hips can't move much more than like 30 degrees. I would not be surprised if we can get more dynamic poses with the new female buck even with less articulation. Just happy they have rocker ankles still, hopefully they can add wrist swivel.

ukmu 07-27-2014 11:58 PM

by "MODERN GAMORA" it is, at least my understanding, that they meant NOT the original uniform. I think, IMO, they meant they will make the MAN-KINI looking one with cape and skulls to match the look of the team available so far.

I didnt read it as such. Modern does not have to mean the most current look, as most toy collectors dont even read comics. Or at a minimum, read them very casually.

I voted for a 'modern' Gamora on Twitter, but i didnt vote for the armour, movie or any version with out a cape really. I just dont want the original all green fishnet body sock on. A simple repaint of the Scarlet Witch would give a close enough but still tasteful look.

ukmu 07-28-2014 01:26 AM

the cinema schedule.....

1 August 2014.... Guardians Of The Galaxy
1 May 2015.... Avengers: Age of Ultron
17 July 2015.... Ant-Man
6 May 2016.... Captain America:Fallen Son (working title)
8 July 2016... Doctor Strange (unannounced)
5 May 2017.... Thor:Ragnarok (working title/unannounced)
28 July 2017....Guardians Of The Galaxy:War Of Kings (confirmed but unannounced)
3 November 2017.... Black Panther (unannounced)
4 May 2018... NEW DATE ADDED (announced at SDCC Marvel Studio panel)
6 July 2018.... Avengers:Civil War (working title/unannounced)
2 November 2018.... Hulk:World War (unannounced)
3 May 2019.... The Inhumans (unannounced)

We will see if it is true.

There seems to be PLENTY of room for a good 3.75" tie-ins. Assuming Iron Man 3 ASSEMBLES still are not clogging up space?!?!?
;)
