I didnt read it as such. Modern does not have to mean the most current look, as most toy collectors dont even read comics. Or at a minimum, read them very casually.

I voted for a 'modern' Gamora on Twitter, but i didnt vote for the armour, movie or any version with out a cape really. I just dont want the original all green fishnet body sock on. A simple repaint of the Scarlet Witch would give a close enough but still tasteful look.

With it being a kids line and if a character like the ever-so-slutty shanna was told to cover up, then I'm pretty sure they mean Marvel Now Gamora. And I mean, They cut Phoenix five cyclops because his costume wasn't his most modern.....

Sadley, I'm not sure how musch collecting I'll be doing past filling in some holes in the collection :-( On the fence about grabbing the guys to finish the sinister 6. Maybe a few customs (K-DUB) other than that....Maybe I'll indulge in the random A.I.M , Frost Giant, Hydra, or Hand troop...so sad... And You guys know me so I must say it.......no Emma and *say it with me !!!!!* NO FREAKING GOSH DARNED EXECUTIONER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok I feel better thanks guys lol

Bicep swivel can go away if they've added elbow swivel instead. Kind of like ankle swivel with shin swivel, having both is redundant when only one is needed.

I'd like to see what other figures are going to look like before I start professing that the line is dead to me. We've seen many evolutions of the articulation over the years. Look at the first Ironman figure to the most recent for a comparison. (And that's not even counting the various Cinematic lines and their comic lines.)

Yeah I'm surprise they didn't show them, since they showed Northstar. That would be awesome as well if they did Ka-Zar and Zabu.

i guess my only hope is hasbro gets their collective asses in gear to get these toys to brick and mortar shops or hope none of these figs become under made so that the prices drop to normal prices after the initial frenzy when they drop

Same here:P Started collected Spidey suits as well, but nothing wrong with that:) A good assortment just like IM suits as well. Also yeah hope these start hitting the BNM stores at least during the holiday season you would think since they're so behind. Granted it's great to have been able to get the 2nd wave from HTS and the 3rd from BBTS but these need to be at the Targets/TRUS for crying out loud :P

Yeah a bit sad no Emma and Skurge especially since they showed up last year.

NoodleChow 07-28-2014 11:56 AM

Would rather have had Emma coming up in the place of Colossanaut. But doesn't exclude her from potentially being in any waves beyond that. Just chances are always dwindling. :\

also this new emphasis on unique sculpts has me pretty hopeful for a Kingpin and Blob.

redfox 07-28-2014 12:15 PM

The inclusion of Northstar and Colossanaut shows that Hasbro is trying to get these figures out. They aren't going to shove them all out at once. It makes more sense to sprinkle them out among the new figures. We've only seen two waves. There's still hope for Emma and Skurge.

Captain Nash 07-28-2014 02:14 PM

Oh I have no doubt Emma will get released (unless they just cancel the line after these waves). as someone else mentioned they're holding her hostage so that people will buy these figures. It's just...we want them NOW.

Captain Taiga 07-28-2014 08:05 PM

Been wonderin if the MU SDCC pack has a chance to get on hasbrotoyshop.com this year. Cuz last time I got the Deadpool taco truck cuz someone on here knew the time and day they were gonna be up haha

If they are giving us Jugglossus I think Emma has to get made eventually. Maybe an exclusive or some odd thing but I feel we will see her.

How come there has never been an exclusive wave of 3.75" figures? I think there were some repacks Target exclusives like (2-packs I think) and TRU had those exclusive comic packs that basically killed the entire multi-pack model. Never just a normal wave like Legends has gotten.

In order to be exclusive it would mean that retailer would actually have to carry the figures in the first place :P

wylde bil 07-28-2014 11:10 PM

went to bmore to watch the god kids for my man and his girl to get a break, on the way home went in to their tru and what do i see but 2 MI wave one boxes with their wasps, so i got one even though it wasnt on my list, little voice in my head awww what the hell the avengers need one more fighter. lol

Sounds like a decision with nothing to regret.

There were the TRU exclusive three packs too.
Spider-man and his amazing friends, and the army builder pack.

whats funny is i never liked the avengers, but to me it looked real silly only having the FF fight galactus, plus most of the avengers are over made so much most i got at below sticker price, i think most i have paid for one is wonderman and he was like 14 dollars. plus the fact i buy every bad guy now, no matter how dumb or silly they or their premise are (case in point tigershark, reaper and whirlwind); so i start realize i need more heroes. which is truly funny figuring like 80% of all the 4in figs are heroes and not villians

So my list of Spider-Man people are as follows:

1. Kingpin
2. Peter Parker
3. Tombstone
4. Smythe
5. Gwen Stacy
6. Man-Spider

The rest I have already made, I'm sure I'm leaving a handful out but theses ones I feel are truly needed

Speaking of con leftovers, I picked up a 6" glow in the dark white walker from Barnes and noble. He is gonna fill in as a frost giant. Probably not as good as the MU 2 pack one, but at $20 he's a lot cheaper.

Solid idea I suppose, but why does the White Walker glow in the dark? I never remembered a part in the show when one glowed or lit up. How is it as a figure though, the only one I cared for or got was Sandor and that figure's great, I heard a lot of bad QC issues about most of Funko's legacy figures is this one among them?

The white walkers start glowing in that one episode where none of your favorite characters dies and when there is no sex scene, which is never lol. Funny I saw the hound and almost got him and dany and john snow, but I try to stay away from 6" stuff. This one is ok on the quality, it just took a while to get all the joints loose. It's creepy as hell in the dark but my kids love it. I haven't had a glow in the dark toy since I was a kid so I may be biased.

Speaking of glow in the dark I am ordering some bossfight stuff thru kickstarter. If hasbro botched this line at SDCC I was gonna change my order to all in with those HACKS. I can't wait for the new black cat (i bet she can pose better than wasp) but we gotta wait till 2015 for the new figs?

I avoid 6" Marvel stuff only (okay I caved in for Nova and Carnage), but when it comes to other licenses I tend to go into 6" scale. Anything NECA is more so 7" scale, GoT legacy The Hound is 6.5", Breaking Bad Heisenberg is also around 6.5", Arkham Origins Killer Croc is 10.5", but when it comes to Marvel because I want more characters in a similar space everyone gets the 4" treatment. I'm probably not alone in doing that kind of reasoning for setup. And I do remember that GoT episode, it was season 0, episode .5 (aka the preview pictures from before the show began).

jmurray90720 07-29-2014 07:45 PM

Found MI series 4 (the GOTG rerelease wave). Plenty of Wondermen, just wish I actually wanted any of them.

That's a really clever idea. I love mixing toylines.

I think it's just an exclusive thing. People go nuts for clear and/or glow-in-the-dark figures.
