Well it looks like you are correct. That is a bummer if Spin Master isn't doing anything 4-inch for Superman.
|
Most of these sets I'll most likely wait for clearance it's not my cup of tea but I see it is for some people and that's ok.
|
I'm disappointed that GL & Hawkgirl seem to have let Mr Terrific design their costumes
|
Okay so that five pack was not innthe picture but are the smaller one which means they are doing 3 in, 3.75, 6in, and 12in figure cause that box set is definitely bigger than the small packaging. Also the 6 inch for what they are not bad definitely would have supported a line like this.

They confirmed the box set as 6 inches so yeah it seems weird they killed the 3.75 inch line for the movie.
|
Only reason I can come up with is they weren't selling enough. Hell I never saw anything movie related in stores after The Flash. Stuff from Blue Beetle and Aquaman I had to order online. Everybody else already switched to 6 inch so I guess Spin Master followed the trend.
|
so disappointing
|
This is the same bs that happened with mattel. Movie coming better cancel the 1/18 line. Apparently the fortress is for 1.5" figures. The four pack is thought was 4" is a 6" target exclusive.
So they're doing 1.5", 3",5" (superman 78), 6" and 12". Somebody else must exclusive rights to the 8" mego style. |
That's exactly why the announcement of Mattel getting the rights back pissed me off. They already showed they don't give a shit about doing anything with DC in this scale.
Spin Master dropping it though feels like a low blow. Especially since this is probably their last movie line. |
Hopefully Mattel gives us something in scale. They have both JP and Minecraft right now.

even more inexplicable because they had Aquaman, Blue Beetle, Black Adam, new Batman, Batman starring Flash movie lines all at 3.75 inch
3 inch?! WHY?! I can't believe 3/4 of an inch costs any more to make :rolleyes Thanks to tlasjr for the F5 figures! https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1747535013 wow it was pretty difficult getting Batman's belt on these are very nice figures! |
I’ll probably pick up McFarlane‘s mega kaiju and the Super Powers Fortress playset (cardboard or not). As for figures, praying that another company will jump in to fill the ridiculous gap that SM has left scale-wise. Beyond that, hopefully some talented 3D designer will publish some of the movie characters as printable action figures.
Really is a punch in the gut from Spin Master. Goooood riddance. |

I screenshoted this photo from a YouTube video the guy said he didn't know the scale but going by the size these Spin Master cardbacks and figures they might be 3.75 inch.

Still hoping. |
I really couldn't care less about the size. I just don't see the appeal of all these "retro" figures.
|
The cardbacks look way to big for 6 inch but who knows.
|
I believe they are 3.75 inch
I don't know who's idea at Spin Master thought it was smart to compete with the Super7 Reaction lines I also don't care for 5 POA it's too bad Mattel's Multiverse line didn't get that deep in characters from the Superman movies |

I was so disappointed here were no 4 inch figures for the Superman movie so I made my own yesterday. Fortunately my wife had gotten me a head to do one a while ago.

I gotta say… if Spin Master or any other licensee thinks that there’s no audience for 1/18 DC Comics figures, maybe take a look at this thread? It’s not exactly a scientific reckoning of the market, but it looks to be the second most popular thread on this toy collector forum. I’m only taking into account views in the “general discussion” category, but you get the point.
I thinks SM got bit by making too many The Batman figures (for a very adult-targeted film) and possibly over-estimating how much Batman merch would be supported by The Flash movie. SM tends to put all their eggs in a very few baskets. Whereas McFarlane diversifies and puts out a ton of product hitting the comics, the movies, and even deep dives into elseworlds and specific storylines. Such missed opportunities. Sigh… |

The big “gotcha” is in value perception. A company (be it Spin Master or Hasbro) will probably charge around $8 for a 4” action figure. A 6” figure they can charge $10-11. Those figures probably cost about the same to make, but because the 6” figure is bigger, it has a higher “perceived value” and companies can charge a little more, making everyone a bit more than the 4” figure. Last I saw numbers (probably a good decade ago, but I don’t think the proportions have changed much in the interim), a Vintage Collection 4” Star Wars figures was whole sale a couple dollars less than a Black Series 6” Star Wars figure. But because they could charge a higher amount for the 6” figure (perceived value), the margins were actually better and it was more cost effective to stock the 6” figure relative to the 4” figure of comparative design and complexity. That’s why, even with the improved articulation of 2025, Hasbro’s Epic World of Action offerings are DRAMATICALLY less detail with less articulation than the relative collector offerings. Quote:
Just in my corner of the world, Spin Master’s ability to get product out has been falling behind for a couple years, even before the non-events that the last few DC films ended up being. I haven’t been able to reliably find Batman stuff locally since the 2022 film. Flash and Black Adam just did “okay”. It would not surprise me if Mattel got the license back because they HAVE managed to turn themselves around in the years since they lost the license. As a company, they seem to have a better handle on large pushes across wider markets than Spin Master’s. It could simply be an issue where, with uncertainty looming for the toy market, it was safer to transition back to established player like Mattel. |

I'm so fucking tired dude. I was hoping this movie would finally give me a chance for a 1/18th Hawk Girl figure
Just fuck these toy companies. Spinmaster's distribution always kinda sucked anyway. |
I feel bad for Spinmaster. They took over in the beginning of 2020 just as covid hit.
Since then we had birds of prey, ww84,suicide squad, black adam the batman, aquaman 2, the flash, and blue beetle. The three they really supported were thr not kid friendly The Batman, Aquaman 2 and the Flash. Neither of the last two set any records. At least not positive ones. But what I don't get is if they can make 6" figures for around th4 same as 4" and sell them for $10 instead of $8 why make 3" instead of 4" when you sell the three inch at 4 for $15? |
