Mcfarlane Toys- Avatar: the Last Airbender- Sokka
https://i.imgur.com/C9vkQEwl.jpg Being a massive ATLA fan I was excited when McFarlane announced that they were producing a full line and even more excited when I saw them being unpacked at my local Wal-Mart. As I understand they are producing both a 5” basic line with limited articulation and accessories and a deluxe 7” line that is similar to his other collector offerings with more detail and better poseability. If I’m being honest, I was going to pass on the 5” figures as I didn’t really like the idea of poorly articulated figures (I have way too many Star Wars figures for that) but was sold on the fact that they had both hip and shoulder ball joints that make a huge difference for me. Pros: I immediately decided to open and review Sokka first because he was passed over in the (disappointing) Diamond ATAB line and he is one of my favorites from the series. The overall design on this 5” figure is great and the head sculpt is really fantastic. Articulation is basic, but surprisingly adequate with head, hip and shoulder ball joints and pivots with swivels at the elbows and knees. I also really appreciate that he came with both his trusty boomerang and his sheath for storage. Oh, did I mention that he was only $15 canadian? Such a great value. Cons: Sokka is an amazingly fun toy for $15 and I really can't complain. That said, joints at the wrists and ankle tilts (much like Mattel’s MOTU Origins line) would have made Sokka a toy of the year contender. https://i.imgur.com/otgsSW6l.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ZEeffWQl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/iuno84Gl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ufomV7Fl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kGHCX0Wl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/OzWXDzSl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/I5hCidRl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ULP3biXl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EwL7sBJl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YT9V5cxl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mknkX5Ml.jpg https://i.imgur.com/pJilOEpl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/XaJw1dSl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Zlu577Jl.jpg If you like these reviews check out my long running series of toy photo reviews over at I open a toy & post it here...
